    Great for my kitchen.

My Samsung smart TV 24" only 2 years old, failed. I wasn't going to pay for another Samsung. So I tried LG, not a smart TV. It works flawlessly with my roku stick. Perfect picture, easy operation . I'm finally happy in the kitchen. Lol.

    Worthwhile value

I purchased this tv to replace a previous one in my guest bedroom (which I had owned since the mid 90s). THAT tv still functioned, so I was not really in need of a replacement. However the price of this LG was too good to pass up. LG rarely disappoints in terms of consumer electronics and that is the case here. I am happy with the features and the picture quality of this 28' LED 720p. Would recommend to others; great bargain!

When I first went there I thought of getting a smaller tv like a 18 but when I looked that was way to small , luckily customer service helped me pick the perfect 28 inch tv mainly used for gaming but is great for movies and shows etc. great picture ( 1080p) great response times. 10/10.

    Great secondary TV

I almost didn't buy this TV based on some of the reviews. There are many that are just erroneous e.g. the feet fall off - duh, how about putting the screws (provided) in so they don't fall off. Others are on the picture or sound etc.- WHICH YOU CAN ADJUST etc. This is a 720p tv and is not a UHD 1080p or a 2160p so it is NOT going to be at those higher standards. It is a great picture for 720p with some ability to adjust the picture to make it closer to your personal preferences. Also, the sound is as good as it should be at this price point. We use it in our kitchen and it is better than the unit we replaced. Please note YOU CAN ADJUST the sound to what you want but it will never be at a level of a sound bar etc. Just a solid tv and exactly what I expected without the issues from many of the one and two star comments.

    A Perfect "Second Set"

    |
    Posted .

Actually, having grown up during the time when color TV first came to the networks in the US it's amusing to think of a 28" high-def TV as a "second set," but today most people want something bigger for their primary entertainment center, thus my title for this review. In every way but size, the LG would be fine for use as the main TV; the resolution, while less than some, is greater than standard DVDs and many broadcast programs, and while the size may seem small compared to the wall-dominating behemoths in many homes, it's large enough for comfortable viewing in any room of a conventional home and impressively large for a dorm room or small apartment. This set offers every function needed for quickly selecting and viewing multiple sources; it's easy to go from TV to DVD to game and back with the simple remote. With LG's reputation for quality, you can't go wrong.

    Great little compact TV

    |
    Posted .

A great little TV for an affordable price. The TV is nothing mind blowing, but it has a good picture and better sound than I expected. My main concern was finding a TV that would play all kinds of video files off of the USB port. This one supports many types of formats (MKV, MP4, etc) and plays them back perfectly. The stand looked a little flimsy in the photo but is actually much sturdier than I thought it would be. So far we are happy with our purchase.

The picture is excellent. Colors are vivid.

The picture is sharp and clear. The colors are vivid and life like. The set up is easy and simple. The drawback are no headphone plug and poor sound quality. Without the headphone plug, it is complicated to hook up a device to improve the sound quality. Need to get a HDMI splitter to separate sound and video of the HDMI. Use the USB of TV to power the splitter box. Then hook up powered computer speakers at the HDMI line from Comcast. Turn down the TV speakers to avoid echo. Unfortunately you need to turn on the powered speakers when the TV is on. Turn off the speakers when the TV is off or there will be a humming noise.

I bought this small flat screen to install in our guest room, nee one of our grown kids ex-bedroom. It's turned out to be perfect for the purpose of an occasionally watched TV. The LG is setup to receive a non-HD signal as it is connected to one of our DISH network dual output satellite boxes. The "second" output of these boxes sends standard def signals only. Because of the smaller size of this LG flat screen, SD signals look surprisingly good. You won't mistake the picture for HD ...it more resembles that of a classic "tube" or CRT display television ...but it is highly watchable; there is little video artifacts or pixilation typical of larger flat screens when being fed an SD signal. As for it's HD rating of 790P, again given the small size of the screen, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between 1080 or 790. I have a Roku wireless streaming module and when the little LG gets an HD signal, via the Roku, the picture is fantastic; you aren't going to miss not having 1080 resolution. The lower resolution drops the cost of the TV and the picture looks just as good. As usual, like every flat screen out there, the sound quality is awful. The speakers are tiny, mounted in the bottom of the case and face downward. You have to do some judicious fiddling with the pre-programed EQ settings; I ended up setting mine up using the manual EQ to get something approaching a decent sound. What helps with the quality of the sound is if you mount the TV on the wall rather than have it sitting on some furniture. I mounted mine using a simple swivel mount and when the TV isn't used it sits flat against the wall like a hung picture. Overall this has been an excellent flat screen and fills the bill perfectly for its intended use. The picture is quite passable fed SD signals and really shines with an HD feed. The 790P HD should not be considered a disadvantage as the small screen size makes including 1080 capability a superfluous expense. I'm a big fan of LG flat screens and this one makes the third LG own. As of this review our "littlest" LG is chugging along nicely.

    Nice TV for the price.

Nice TV for the price. I needed a TV for my sunroom. Since it's thin and light it was easy to install on the ceiling mount that I had. I connected it to my cable through the Roku I bought. It was wireless so I didn't have to run a cable to it. I also connected it to a square flat antenna. I was surprised how many channels I get.

    Great picture size

    |
    Posted .

I needed a TV that would fit into a piece of furniture in a bedroom, that was built to hold an old CRT 27inch Sony Trinitron. That limited the width of the TV I could use. A 32 inch screen was too wide. Something in the 28 inch class size is ideal. There are not too many screens of that size available and finding one from a brand I have had great experiences with before, LG, made this TV an ideal choice. I had to adjust the picture settings to get the image to my liking, but after those new settings the picture is excellent. Bright, vivid and sharp. It's a 720p set , but nobody can see the difference between 720p and 1080p on a screen this size anyway. It fits my need for a bedroom TV well.

    Beautiful display

I had an older Samsung that was good for a few years, then found a Vizio on the cheap that was horrible. So based on the Samsung quality I picked this tv up. Very upset that my wall mount would not work for this TV, the screws for it are special length and is a bad design. It's only fault for sure. The ease of set up and picture quality blow everything you think of a TV out of the water. Sound is amazing from this also for being just a TV, I have it on a stand and removed my surrounded sound to do that. I think I will just keep it as is since it sounds good as is.

    Very good but some inneficiencies

Needed a new kitchen tv to replace my 1080p Samsung 24” unit. Not too many small TVs available any more. This 28” lg fit the opening, but I found out you can’t connect any external soundbar speakers of any kind. No hdmi arc, or audio outputs! I adjusted the picture to my liking by turning off all the noise reduction and color enhancements that were automatically on from the factory. For a 720p screen, it’s not too bad once adjusted properly. The built in speakers are ok but not great, and no outboard speaker options as mentioned. The picture is better than any other no name brands!

I only bought a 28" because that was the biggest that would fit on the kitchen counter. This was the best 28" at BB according to the sales people, and I concurred. It is not a smart TV, but it does have an update hdmi port. Since it is only 28", the 720p (minimum high resolution) display is good enough. I got an open box, and, yes, it had been opened before, but otherwise was great. One pro tip: The normal philips/cross screw and screwdriver is #2. The legs attach with #1 or #0 cross screws, and you are threading into plastic. The right screwdriver made a big difference in properly attaching the feet, which are needed unless you hang it from the wall with a VESA wall mount.

    Great LG TV

    |
    Posted .

We needed a 28" TV to fit on our kitchen counter and this 28" LG TV was a perfect fit. My wife had complained that our previous TV didn't have a clear picture and the sound wasn't good. This LG TV has a very clear picture and very good sound. The only negative was when first turned on the TV it told you every thing you used the remote for, such as telling you via sound what level the sound was when you increased or decreased the volume. I finally found toward the end of the instruction manual how to turn that off because it was loud and annoying. Once that was done, and once I was able to program the Spectrum remote to operate the TV we've been very happy with our purchase.

    WOW.....I'M LOVIN' IT!!!

This is my very first HD TV.....SO MANY negative reviews I hesitated to buy it, but they were WRONG......the picture's great (of course!) & the many complaints about the remote being too small to me, are just silly...The sound is not 'tinny' as many have said, but then I have mine on a bookshelf with a few feet of space behind it...maybe that's why it sounds good.....anyway, I LOVE this LG and am so glad I didn't listen to the negative reviews. Maybe because the others had experience with HD sets, while I have not? who knows! anyway, it's a great set and I enjoy it very much....small remote and all!! LOL...
