Do not waste your money

Love this refrigerator when we bought it 25 months ago- yes just over 2 years. 21 months in the compressor and both the craft ice and ice maker went out. $400 to fix the refrigerator ice maker, the compressor and craft ice were u see warranty. Just a short 95 days later both ice machines stopped working AGAIN and the freezer is not keeping things frozen (like ice cream) despite being set at -1. The customer service dept of LG will charge us $400 to come out, which we pay on top of whatever they find is wrong. Do not waste your money for the bells and whistles- I loved this refrigerator but in the end it will cost us not only $4,000 when we bought it but probably close to another $1,000 to repair and it just turned 2 years old.

Purchased this refrigerator 4 years ago and compressor has gone out. Find out this is a huge issue for LG. That’s not the end all issue because things break. But if your expecting to get it repaired in any timely manner yiur delusional. LG has the absolute worst warranty repair I’ve ever experience for an appliance. Highly urge you to spend your money on anything but an LG product. It’s not worth it!!!

LG has no idea what they are doing when it comes to fridges. We bought this exact one last year and it has constantly broken down. Within the first month it started and when we sought to have it replaced, we were told that it would take two months to get another one. Instead they convinced us that they could fix it. Geek squad has been out 6 times in less than a year. Now, once again, the freezer fan went out. So we have to take everything out and thaw out the fan because it takes a service person 14 days to come out. What a bad product. I'd rather not have the craft ice. It only makes 3 ice balls per day. It has a 6 ball per day setting, but if we set it to that then the freezer fan freezes over in two days.

I bought this exact same model in Aug 2020 with a Geek Squad 5 year warranty. I LOVE the fridge & so does everybody who sees it BUT....After a year, the craft icemaker needed to be replaced, & again in another year & again this year. Its to the point where it only drops ice once a day instead of the twice a day its set for. We just had Best Buy here to replace it for the 4th time & it still will only drop craft ice once a day. Also, the in door icemaker stopped workingbaroun a month ago so they replaced the control board on top of the fridge thinking that may be causing the problems with both icemakers. Well, yesterday morning they replaced the in door icemaker & we still have no ice. Like I said earlier, I love this fridge but this is ridiculous. It also is slow to put out ice & it doesnt hold a lot either. When the fridge stopped making the regular ice I bought 1 of those small countertop icemakers for $89 & that thing makes more ice in an hour than my $3500 refrigerator makes in more than a day.
Geek Squad is supposed to have a 'no lemons' policy but I was told after the 3rd craft ice repair they wouldnt replace a refrigerator just because the ice maker wasnt working. I guess we'll have to see about that as it seems another visit will be needed & Im not going to put up with this anymore.

We loved our LG fridge the design is smart. Our compressor went exactly 5 years and 2 months later and so we had to pay $450 for replacement. Since it was a $3000 fridge it made sense. The compressor replacement has a 90 day warranty. It went out after 130 days so out of warranty. As long as you feel ok with $1200 a year for a new compressor every 3-4 months it is a good fridge. Assume 600 a year to own this brand new. Beware of the reviews that have not owned the fridge for a while

I purchased my LG February 2019 with a “3-year” warranty and its now on its third—let me say that again—its 3rd compressor! And the warranty i thought was for 3 years is really only for 2. Now, i can get a new compressor through LG (they are in law suits over this), “sent directly to my home” and woukd artive in a month or so. Now mind you, that serms fair except its 3 times thst for labor to install. So i guess im going to be purchasing a new fridge but it wont be an LG!

Great Except Ice Makers Last Less than a Year

We have had this model for just over three years. It's everything we want except that it's on its fourth icemaker and that has stopped working. The craft ice has also been on and off, and it's been replaced. The service techs tell us that the ice makers are unreliable and replacements sometimes arrive in a non-working state.
Fortunately, we got the extended warranty, but it doesn't make a lot of difference now. Our last service request has been open for two months waiting for parts.

Stay far away from this fridge and from LG. After one month from purchasing this fridge, the ice maker stopped working. After changing the ice maker, motherboard and other components, the fridge still didn’t work. Best Buy was gracious enough to exchange it for a new one. Unfortunately, the ice make and freezer stopped working. This time, I had to work with LG for the repairs. After a month and multiple attempts to fix it, my fridge still didn’t work. I had to throw away everything in the freezer. I escalated the issue to Rachel, the Presidential Liaison, and I received the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. She’s been non-responsive and received nothing but empty promises for updates. I had to buy a new fridge and still have not been refunded by LG. I will never buy an LG product again and advice everyone to stay far away from them.

Quit cooling after 24 months

Just two years after purchase, the unit quit cooling. Over the course of five weeks and a complete nightmare dealing with LG they deemed it was not able to be fixed. I was given a prorated amount that was still almost $1200 short of replacing the current model that I had.

Awful after sale customer experience with a defective $4000 LG refrigerator which LG sells it as its flagship top of the line 4 door insta view refrigerator. Within 2 week we noticed that the top drawer of this refrigerator was defective. It took some effort to open it and more effort to close it, as the drawer gets stuck at a point half way. When Best Buy delivered this refrigerator, the delivery person did not hook the water line even though it was included in the purchase. They said someone from greek squad will come to connect the water line. Took them 2 weeks to get the water line hooked, and turn on the refrigerator. At that time we noticed the top drawer has defect. We talk the best buy person and he said its new and will be perfectly fine in few days. It never did. Called Best buy multiple times, and they send someone from Geek Squad , but he said that they will have to replace the drawer. No one came to replace it ..waited for weeks and called again, and was just being a run around. Asked them to replace it and they said 2 week return is over. Well it took them 2 months to tell us that it can be repaired. Cant believe Best buy will be so careless and difficult to deal with.

Bad choice of refrigerator.

My four year old LG no longer cools , repairman has been here 6 times replacing compressor, thermostats and .
valve, Frig is moderately cooling, my husband jokes I now have a new spot to store Christmas ornaments. Was supposed to be under warranty. LG has this reputation, our repairman said he will no longer service LG products.

Door-in-Door too warm for storage

According to LG, it is perfectly normal for the door-in-door are to be 10+ degrees warmer than the rest of the fridge. This means that even if you set your fridge to 35, the door will still be 45 degrees. LG recommends using this area for condiments, which would still be warm enough to breed bacteria. If you don't mind everything in the door being "not quiet cold enough" then this fridge is likely fine for you. Do not store anything perishable in the door compartment.

Bad Purchase

Purchased in March 2021, died February 2022, the unit stop cooling. Service changed compressor, motherboard and still not working as of March 11, 2022. We have been going round and round with LG and LG service maintenance to declare it a lemon or big paper weight. I will update this post if needed. Its been a nightmare.

5 star fridge that ends up being a 1 star

This refrigerator is awesome and would be 5 stars but one feature is so awful, it makes this a one star refrigerator and absolute regret. There are two ice makers, the traditional and craft maker. The traditional I’ve maker literally must be the smallest I’ve maker to ever go into a refrigerator. The fact that they put this ridiculous ice maker in a $3k+ refrigerator is absolutely shameful. We are a family of four but only 2 adults. The other two are toddlers and we NEVER have ice. It’s depleted so quickly because of how small it is and this refrigerator takes FOREVER to refill the bin, even when you have it on “ice plus.” We had a standard $1600 GE before this and never ran out of ice, EVER!!!!. Do not buy this if you plan on having people over or let alone want ice for yourself on a regular basis.

BROKEN FRIDGE/HORRIBLE SERVICE

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. We received a broken fridge two weeks ago and no one can figure out how to schedule a return pick up. I now have the new fridge, and still have the broken fridge in my kitchen. Literally no one can help me. I have wasted a minimum of 15 hours over the last two weeks on the phone, in the store, trying to resolve and no one can help. The people in Braintree have been the most helpful and nice, but they seem to have their hands tied. I am not sure what else to do at this point
