After researching for many months, looking at 1 brand after another I kept coming back to this refrigerator. Quality, features, size, looks. It has them all & then some. It does look very nice in the kitchen with the glass door breaking up what would be a lot of metal, nice looking as the black stainless may be. I've only had it 10 days but it's been a marked difference from our 13 year old GE 28 cu ft side by side. Most important--it's COLD! It's so nice to have actual cold drinks & foods for a change. Since this refrigerator doesn't come with an actual, current temperature display (an oddity to me that it only shows what you SET the refrigerator & freezer compartments to), I bought a sensor that records the temp. & it's fluctuated from 35.8 to 39.7* & 39-45 in the door compartment). There's plenty of room for all the warehouse club sized food & condiments. By comparison, our old fridge was packed pretty full but we got everything that had in this new LG & it almost looks empty. Even have half a watermelon in it & still plenty of room. Can't recall ever having the room in th old refrigerator to put any sized melon in it. The crisper drawers glide exceptionally smooth & feel like they're quality built, a very pleasant change from the old refrigerator but 1 that I found some other brands in this price range lacking. I do have veggies in 1 drawer & fruits in the other & everything has lasted longer than they ever did in the old refrigerator, which also supposedly had similar drawer settings. The outside drawer has proved very handy, something my wife thought was a gimmick but I noticed was a must have as the french door fridges without this feature have a large drawer inside that requires the opening of both doors in order to access the drawer. I also bought this model because of the ability to vary the drawer temp more than any other refrigerator I looked at (& there were plenty!), though I haven't had occasion to test the different temps out yet as I've used this drawer for my various cheeses on 1 side, eggs in the center portion & cold cuts on the other side. The freezer is large, can easily hold a couple of giant turkeys & still have plenty of room. I can see how it can get to be a problem finding things in it if packed but again, it's holding everything I had in the old freezer with plenty of room for more. Even though this is just a large drawer with a smaller sliding drawer on top, it still holds more than the other freezer did with 7 shelves. The craft ice is pretty cool, took several days to figure out that it wasn't putting out because the bin was installed backwards by the delivery guys. Once I looked at the bin & saw how it should fit, it dropped small balls a few hours later followed by full sized balls every 12 hours since (I have it on the 6/day setting). The regular ice is significantly smaller than we've been used to but our family of 6 is getting by so far, not yet having run out of ice. Of course it helps that the refrigerator is colder so we don't need as much ice as we did previously, though if my 3 boys were still in high school & playing their sports we would definitely have a problem. Getting ice, whether crushed or cubed (yes, small, square cubes!) is much nicer & quieter than the old fridge too. Lightly press a glass against the lever & out comes ice, no waiting while the refrigerator decides if it will work this time like with our GE. Water comes out much faster than the old fridge, even with our reverse osmosis system that GE said was the cause & it is chilled for a couple of glasses. It is quite a large refrigerator so if you're replacing a smaller unit & have a small kitchen you would be well advised to not just take measurements but tape a couple of boxes together & put them where your fridge will go to give you an idea. My kitchen is very large so it's fine by me but I have friends who would have a problem with the depth of this. Also, the Best Buy delivery guys originally took it back as they couldn't get it through my front door (36") & weren't equipped to remove the doors of this unit. I showed the 2nd set of delivery men a few days later how to open the doors (bottom drawers removed) & turn it into the house like a large sofa but then they couldn't understand to do the same in reverse to get it in the kitchen so they removed the doors once they got in the house then quickly AND perfectly reinstalled the doors without a problem. I have read that the door removal has turned into a headache for some but the delivery guys knew how to remove & reinstall them, having done it before, plus with the Best Buy warranty & return period I wasn't worried. Finally, it doesn't vent heat out of the front near the floor like our old GE did & our kitchen isn't quite as hot. It also runs extremely quiet, with the dropping of the ice balls about the only sound you'll hear, unless you're a few feet away when it drops regular ice into the in-door bin. All in all I really would say that having spent $3500 for a refrigerator (I can't tell you how hard that is to say), I do feel I got a very good value.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review. I'm really sorry to hear about the ongoing issues you're facing with your LG LRMVS3006S refrigerator. It sounds incredibly frustrating to have a unit that is less than 6 months old and still experiencing problems with the ice maker and freezer. After extensive use, here’s a detailed review of its features and performance. Design and Usability: The sleek stainless steel finish of the LG refrigerator brings a touch of elegance to any kitchen decor, harmonizing with other appliances and cabinetry. The French door design is not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional, offering easy access to the refrigerator's compartments. The standout feature, the Door-in-Door system, is ingeniously designed for quick access to frequently needed items without opening the entire refrigerator, thus helping to maintain the temperature inside and save energy. Capacity and Storage: With a whopping 29.5 cubic feet of space, this refrigerator offers abundant storage for a large family's food storage needs. The organization within the unit is thoughtful, with adjustable shelving, multiple drawers, and several door bins that accommodate a wide range of item sizes and shapes. Each section is easily accessible, making food organization both intuitive and efficient. Innovative Features: One of the LG refrigerator’s most talked-about features is the Craft Ice system, which produces slow-melting round ice spheres perfect for cocktails and other beverages, elevating any home bartender's game. Additionally, it also dispenses crushed and cubed ice, covering all bases. Cooling Technology: LG employs a sophisticated cooling system that maintains an even temperature throughout, crucial for food preservation. The freshness of fruits and vegetables is notably extended thanks to this precise climate control, which minimizes spoilage and helps to keep food fresher for longer. Smart Features: Equipped with Wi-Fi connectivity, this refrigerator can be controlled and monitored via LG's smartphone app. Whether you need to adjust temperatures, receive alerts when the door is left open, or diagnose issues, the smart features add a layer of convenience and peace of mind to the management of your refrigerator. Energy Efficiency: Despite its large size and array of features, the LG French Door-in-Door refrigerator is surprisingly energy efficient. It is ENERGY STAR certified, which means it meets stringent energy efficiency specifications set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, ensuring that it keeps energy bills low and has a lesser environmental impact. Final Verdict: The LG 29.5 Cu. Ft. 4-Door French Door-in-Door Refrigerator with Craft Ice is a top-tier appliance that combines spaciousness, innovative features, and elegant design in one package. It excels in every aspect expected of a high-end refrigerator. The initial investment might be high, but for those who prioritize quality, reliability, and cutting-edge features in their kitchen appliances, this LG refrigerator is an excellent choice. It not only meets the needs of large families and food enthusiasts but does so with style and efficiency.

One of the deciding factors of choosing this refrigerator was because of the craft ice. Turns out that the fridge does not make circle ice cubes. They are flat on the top and the bottom. I called the LG support line and they stated one side was flat because my water pressure is too low and the other side is flat due to the temperature of the freezer. My house has great water pressure and I have set the freezer to the recommended temp (with no improvement). I’m disappointed LG won’t stand behind their product.

I researched fridges for quite awhile and kept coming back to this one. We've had it for about two months and it's working perfectly - no issues so far. We love the quick-access door, the deli drawer is nice and deep, the freezer is spacious and compared to previous fridges we've had, the storage for small items on the insides of the doors was done thoughtfully. Our shelves are adjustable - the inside arrangement is very flexible in my opinion. My only challenge is I'm 5'4" and I can't reach items that get pushed all the way to the back on the top shelf. Luckily I have a tall husband and an emergency stepstool to sub for him when needed. :) The ice maker and ice crusher are fab, but maybe I'm just pumped to have an icemaker that actually works at all after being without a functioning one for the last 7 years. The craft icecubes are great - ours come out with flat bottoms instead of perfectly round but I'm not that picky. Again - yay for having ice at all, especially ice in fun shapes. If they can figure out how to perfect those, then this fridge would be top of the charts. I will say the installers were not the best - they had pushed the fridge all the way to the back wall during installation but we didn't really pay much attention since we assumed they knew what they were doing. After about 48 hours the fridge inside was still measuring a temp of 41-43 degrees despite being set on 37. I finally convinced my husband to pull it out a few inches from the wall to increase air circulation in the back and within an hour the fridge was at 37. My husband was *this close* to calling Best Buy back to exchange it, which would have been such a hassle. So for anyone doing a new install, make sure you leave enough air space in the back. I love this fridge. I'd recommend it to anyone. So far so good, and I'm just hoping it lasts a good while.

Terrific to date--Two Things to Note

I bought this fridge through Best Buy almost exactly a year ago. I bought it for its features and despite (at that time) a lot of online complaints about the in-door ice maker breaking down. The beginning was not auspicious, but Best Buy was very helpful. When the fridge arrived, the delivery person pointed out that the bottom back was somewhat depressed, with the back touching the two compressors. he thought a forklift probably bumped into it at the warehouse. I rejected delivery, called Best Buy and a new fridge was delivered a week later. The fridge has been excellent for an ear now. I love the door-in-door convenience feature. I keep milk there, and it's always plenty cold. I must open that door-in-door 20 times a day--I had no idea it would be so useful. I also love the middle convenience drawer, which my previous fridge also had. The lighting is cool, the freezer compartments spacious, and the fridge space itself works well enough. And the craft ice is great, dense and really cools drinks for long periods. That tray is always full for me, though I tend not to use more than one or two balls of ice at a time. Now to my two issues to note. The in-door ice maker has "malfunctioned" about a half-dozen times in a year, but I quickly discovered the problem was simply that ice in the ice bucket occasionally clumps together and thus blocks passage of cubes through the front. Easily dfixed. Y9ou just take out the ice bucket, remove the congealed ice ball, replace the ice bucket, and new ice starts forming almost immediately. Not a big deal, IOW. The other issue is a bit more disappoint, namely, there is little space for tall objects in the fridge. One side of the bottom shelf can be used by pushing back the adjustable tray above. But doing so for the other adjustable tray would leave too little shelf space for other food items. And the shelves on the side doors are too narrow to take things like ketchup bottles. So that's my one disappointment. Overall, I think this is a terrific product and am very happy I got it, even though I had to adjust my fridge organization somewhat to accommodate the shelf limitations.

This is a great refrigerator! We have had it about a month. It is has a very large capacity. Initially I wasn’t sure the icemakers (there are 2) would do well but after a few days or so they started working really well. We love the extra door on the right side to reach in and grab juice, sodas, etc. There are adjustable shelves, selectable temp controls for the small drawer (great for deli type stuff for our needs), it’s bright with 3 interior fridge lights and excellent fit & finish. This was an open box item at Best Buy and an excellent value! This is a BIG refrigerator - not counter depth so plan accordingly. When we had our house built 15 yrs ago we had a 4” offset put behind the refrigerator area and it was one of the best things we did! The Geek Squad guys that delivered it were very careful, knowledgeable and friendly. We have an LG TV also so we thought it would be a great product and we were right.

My 6 yr old Samsung fridge, that I loved, started not keeping things cold enough. With a week, it completely died. I narrowed my search online down to a few refrigerators. Then I went to look at them in store. Bestbuy had the best prices becahse of Memorial Day sales. I looked at this one and 3 others. I kept coming back to this one. I love the size of it, we have 3 kids and need room. I love being able to grab milk and ketchup without opening the whole fridge. The ice maker makes alot of ice. We use alot of ice. The craft ice is a bonus. It lasts along time in water bottles and drinks. The deli drawer has more than enough space for quick grab items: lunch meat, yogurt, juice boxes, etc. I love that this one comes with handles! I didnt realize that in the last 6 years, things changed and fridges do not come with handles. This is a very spacious refrigerator. It has more than enough room for everything. The freezer is good sized also. It is quiet. Our old refrigerator was always louder. But this one has been quiet since we got it. I highly recommend it. We have had it for about 3 weeks without any issues.

    An engineer's critical review

We replaced a working but a dated (~8 years old) Samsung refrigerator after considerable research. We are aware of several negative comments among the reviews but thought we should approach the purchase with an open mind. This is what we did. We zeroed in on LG - 29.5 CFT. 4-Door French Door Stainless Steel Refrigerator, Model:LRMVS3006S. We were impressed by the following characteristics of the refrigerator: 1. Spaciousness: 29.5 CFT is a generous volume. It was a 15% increase from our previous fridge. The increased volume is very helpful even for our three-member household. 2. Design edge: The “instaview feature” is a plus. We can see if the milk or the fruit juice is low without the overwhelming technology of a computer frontend. The second door is functional and attractive. 3. Space optimization: Though the fridge is much larger in space than its predecessor, the LG fridge was a comfortable snug fit in existing slot. There was a slight increase in its depth to which we got accustomed to within a few days. 4. Quiet operation: The fridge is not noisy. It does not hum, or the icemaker make gargling noises as our Samsung appliance did. It sits quietly and does its work. Nice. 5. Ability to stack: We are impressed with our ability to stack containers with leftover food or other items. We are not only impressed by this convenience but also helped us to store small and not so small containers efficiently. 6. A middle draw for freezing and refrigeration: A marvelous addition. As an engineer, I will not be totally fair unless I identify one minor design flaw. The ice/water dispenser area does not have enough depth to insert a glass for getting cold water. It should have. Now, we must use special wider-mouthed glass to catch the dispensed water from the fridge. If the glass has narrower mouth, water spills on the floor. This is a minor but continuing annoyance. An extra inch of insertion space would have helped a lot. Overall, the six months of operation has satisfied us beyond our expectations. We give a 5-star rating enthusiastically since we have found the LG29.5 CFT fridge as a useful, attractive and most functional addition to our kitchen. While it will fulfill the needs of a large family, it has made a small family like us feel joyful in using the fridge. We made a very careful, analytical decision after much research. We are most happy with our eventual decision.

I love the feature and size of this LG refrigerator and freezer. I the water/ice indoor dispenser is great. The craft Ice is super cool and very nice to have. The outer door is awesome, and is smoke colored glass until you knock and then it illuminates! It is large and spacious abd the drawer you can use change to be extra fridge or freezer space is awesome. If you can fit it in your budget, I think this is the best residential Refrigerator on the market. Who needs another Led screen in the house? We didn't we chose the other features over the Led screen.

I love this LG refrigerator. I use the door-in-door feature constantly. There is no wasted space. This is a BIG fridge but it is so quiet. I don't hear the compressor turning on & off. The ice maker works like a champ. Even made our first craft ice after only two days. The geek Squad installers were fantastic. Very professional and attentive to detail. They gave me a quick tutorial on the features of fridge and called back next day to make sure it was working properly. A+ service!
