I bought this refrigerator on sale during a Memorial Day sale. It took over 45 days to arrive. Since then the ice makers have not worked well and required 2 different replacements. Also, there has been a horrible fan noise and an error code supposedly saying that the motor was not working. When I called to replace it, they were "out of stock" for mine and wanted to charge me an additional $1000 to replace it with the same refrigerator. Unbelievable.

Hi there. Thanks for reaching out. For the LG Refrigerator. If water is tasting bad and the filter has already been replaced. Chances are it could be your water supply. There could be hard water in your area or it could be from a faulty water line. Mold, bacteria or mineral buildup could be in the water line or supply. Use a funnel to run vinegar through the water lines to the ice maker, and run vinegar through the water dispenser, as well. Make sure to have a container ready to catch the vinegar so you can discard it. Next, run clean water through the water lines for a few minutes, then reassemble the housing. If you have exhausted these method and water still seems to taste funny. We recommend you contact our LG Support Team. Either send a Private Message through Facebook or Twitter with your contact information using the handle @LGUSSupport. Or call our customer service line(800)243-0000. ^Jai.

This LG worked perfectly for 14 months, then the craft ice stopped working. It's very hard to see what might be wrong so I called customer service. In short, after 2 hours and being transferred and repeating the problem at least 5 times, and being told to toggle the on/off switch, and then the reset button at least 4 times, nothing worked, and they finally just suggested calling a technician, at my own expense of course. After emptying the freezer drawer, I was able to use a flashlight to see that the mechanism that stopped the unit was jammed with a craft ice ball against the stop lever. It was wedged in too tight to remove, so we used a hair dryer and less than 10 minutes later it melted enough to free the lever, and a day later it is making craft ice again. But clearly there is no training of the customer support as you can hear them flip through pages and basically read out of the manual. The unit is cool if a bit overpriced, but you better either buy an extended warranty or hope you are lucky and don't need their customer support.
