    Worst Customer Service Experience Ever

    I could write the longest review in history describing the details of my experience with this fridge and the debacle they call "customer service", but I'll try and make it relatively short because I want you to read this in its entirety. You need to be aware of what could happen to you when you have issues with LG products. Again, if this looks too long to read, make yourself do it, this is the short version. I bought this fridge in the black stainless steel version last June and have had a repairman to my home a total of 8 times in the past 11 months. Four total "repairs" that required 2 visits each time. The first 4 times was because of a leak in the door on the ice machine side during the first month we had it. Ultimately, that repair stuck and has been fine since the last repair, Fast forward to April of this year and the story goes south pretty quickly. The unit started making a VERY loud and annoying noise, intermittently. Think of a drum solo at a rock concert, and that drummer was the worst drummer in the world. I called customer service and ended up having the repairman come out. He came, and of course, being an intermittent issue the noise didn't happen while he was there, but he ordered some parts and came back the 5 days later to install them. Note, he never checked for any open service bulletins for the problem I described. The noise came back the next day after he replaced the parts (some fans). I was not happy, I called back customer service after going round and round, the rep asked me again how many times I had repairs and then tells me I qualify for a replacement or refund, but I needed the receipt scanned and sent into them. I had to go back to the store to get a reprint because I couldn't find it, and did the scan and send process. No one called me back for 5 days and I had to call them only to find out that now I didn't qualify for the replacement. That was one of at least 6 lies I was told over the 3 weeks by the customer service team. In short, I was forced to have another repair performed last week. This repairman called and checked for open bulletins, and yep, my complaint was on file and had a listed repair. Why wouldn't that be standard practice on every repair? He ordered the parts and installed them a week later. The noise was gone for literally 8 days! The little drummer boy is back in my kitchen. Went round and round with those people again...they still won't replace or refund! They are rude, talk down, talk over, are non-empathic and worst of all have no authority to satisfy a customer that has had multiple repairs, three of which will be for the same exact problem. It would be different if this was the first time I had an issue, but this will make it 5 repairs and 10 total visits. They make you feel like you are on trial and are complaining just to complain. I have spent over 5 hours total on the telephone, spoken to easily a dozen reps and have had to explain the story over and over. Today the lady told me that escalation team "refused" to speak to me because there was nothing they could do and I would have to have the repairman come out. I purchased an LG OLED TV last year that I gave a positive review about, but I would have stayed clear if I knew what I know now about the lack of customer service. Spend your money elsewhere.

    In my opinion the best refrigerator out there

    Where do I start? This refrigerator is a thing of beauty and for a very large appliance it looks amazing and not like a chunk of metal sitting in a kitchen. We have a smaller kitchen and it looks good in the kitchen. My wife and are elderly and we like the French Doors folding out and everything is right there, no more continuously bending down in the bottom of the refrigerator digging for something . Everything has its own place and is easy to find. The bottom of the refrigerator is for the freezer with a top drawer door you can use for either freezer items or temperature settings for soft serve ice cream or similar items. All the drawers and compartments glide out with ease and shut the same way. It took a while for me to realize when the doors and drawers are completely shut because they work so smoothly. I did leave a bottom compartment of the freezer open once while I was preparing a meal and got a signal from the refrigerator with chimes that the door had been left open (How cool is that) pun intended. I love the glass door and find myself like a little boy knocking on the glass when I walk by to watch it light up. It also is very smart as we put things in that compartment that we use often so we are not always opening the inside of the fridge all the time. The drawers have separation compartments that glide so you can adjust the drawer compartments. The ice bin compartment is way smaller than our last refrigerator and I was worried about it keeping up, however it seems to work just fine preparing the ice as needed. The lighting inside the refrigerator is soft LED and there is no area that isn’t lit when you open the door. The refrigerator has an app that I probably won’t use (I’m an old guy remember) but it has some amazing features that I cannot comment on because I have not used the app. This is an expensive refrigerator and I was hesitant of purchasing it because of the price. In retrospect I feel that it is such a great piece of equipment and has tons of room. It is easy to operate and use, and looks great. I can’t think of anything negative about it and my wife and I are very glad we decided on this make and model.

    Excellent Fridge

    We are very impressed with this fridge. Pros: * This fridge is massive. Our old fridge was always full, same amount of food in this fridge and it still seems empty. A lot of space. * The lighting in the fridge is great, you can see everything in the fridge without any issues. * Two quick access compartments in the fridge are great for cheese slices and butter sticks. * The fridge appears to be well made overall. * There were a lot of complaints about the ice maker, but after reading LG's suggestion of turning the freezer down to -4 we have had no issues with the ice maker, makes plenty of ice for a family of 4 in standard mode. Give the ice maker a week and you will never run out of ice. * Water filter is hidden and easily accessible. Buy your filters online at 1/4 the cost. * We love the door in the door, quick access to ketchup, milk and any daily use items without leaving the fridge wide open. The tap on the door for light works great, but we rarely use that feature. * Absolutely love the flex zone drawer. We mainly keep flavored water and pop in there and it is ice cold, not frozen, just ice cold. * Love the freezer, it has three separate compartments which make for great organizing. * The black stainless looks amazing and truly is smudge free, the only exception is the glass door, but that is easy enough to clean. * Love the notifications and control via cell phone. I was at work and was able to change the ice maker to ICE PLUS through my cell phone. ******************************* CONS: * The lighting for the flex zone drawer is on the bottom of the right side of the fridge door, so the flex zone has poor lighting on the left side, you can still see okay, just not as bright. * The fridge is almost 40" deep, makes for great storage space but is much deeper than most X-Large fridges and sticks out a bit more than our old one. * The water tastes great, but the cold water reservoir only holds about 20 oz of cold water, in fact I think it's a lot less than that, so the drinking water is rarely cold. * If your kitchen is not well lit, good luck reading the options on the outside control panel, they used black lettering over a black stainless steel panel. The lettering is small and me being older, makes it hard to read. We never need to change settings, so it's not that big of a deal. If it was I would have rated it lower. * WIFI setup was horrible, it took me over an hour to try and figure it out and I have yet to figure out how to connect it to our google home like they show in their ad. ********************************* Summary: Overall we love this fridge, it works better than anticipated and there are too many pros to rate this lower than 5 stars. The bonus is that this fridge looks amazing, we get compliments all the time when company comes over. I would highly recommend this fridge.

    Good but expected more

    So we've had this fridge for a couple of months now. Here are my thoughts: Pros - It's gorgeous, the dark finish looks really nice. The LED lighting is even and fades on and off, a nice touch. There's so much space, I'm looking forward to seeing if I can fill it up at Thanksgiving. Love the shape of the ice cubes, little pyramids rather than half moons. Large dispensers on door can easily fit oversized cups and tumblers. Quick access door on fridge is very handy, though improvements could be made there (see below). The CustomChill drawer is fantastic, we keep so much of our everyday use items in there that we can get to without having to open the main space. The freezer is well organized to hold quite a lot of items, the sliding shelving system works well. Cons - The ice chamber is very small, and it doesn't produce ice quickly (even using the Ice Plus feature). There's only 2 of us currently in the house and it's ok for us but when we had guests we ran out of ice several times. Luckily the dispenser can dispense cubes from bagged ice so we've been able to supplement the dispenser as needed, but for a fridge this size this is a pretty glaring weakness. The shelves in the quick access door are not adjustable. As is, it will not fit a standard 2 liter bottle which is a very common item to have in this space. We had to remove the top shelf to get the bottles to fit and while that works we now have unused space near the top because there is no shelf there. The interior space is also not suited well for taller type bottles like wine, pitchers etc. There is a sliding half shelf system that helps with this but then you lose that shelf space over the bottles. We ended up moving the shelf up a notch but that leaves us with one very narrow shelf. Just seems they could have done better with all this space available. No included thermometer for either the fridge or freezer space. The digital number displayed on the door is just the setting, not the actual temp which is basically kind of useless. Would have been much nicer to have an actual readout of the temps so we can monitor if there are issues. The Wifi and associated app seems kind of pointless, not sure why I would ever want to set the temp remotely. Maybe someday but seems a bit silly to me currently. Limited functionality and does not work with Amazon Alexa. All in all we like this fridge and would recommend it to people as long as they understood the drawbacks. Depending on your style of use, these may or may not be issues for you.

    Bright LED lighting & great door in door feature

    It’s been a month since we had the refrigerator so far so good, as long as I get 15 years I will be very happy. I do love the door in door feature very much as we can easily fit 1 Gallon Milk container and other breakfast items in the door so they are easily accessible thru the glass door and you don’t have to open the whole refrigerator. Knock knock feature is cool, but not very useful in my mind though kids love it. I like the size of the refrigerator, we can fit lot of things and to be honest though it sticks out 6 inches from my counter tops it does not look bad at all. I was originally concerned about it when I initially bought it, but it truly not a concern anymore, I rather have something practical vs. counter depth version that is not very practical. I uses stainless steel wipes to wipe the outside surface as it does get fingerprints overtime, but with these stainless steel wipes things become just like new. The freezer has 2 built in trays that pull out and the freezer itself is huge. The drawer above the freezer is more of a chiller or can act as a extended refrigerator, so far we have not found a good use for it yet. I just got the 4 door version as there was only $200 difference between 3 door and the 4 door. Overall great design and a good refrigerator that is doing what it suppose to do.

    3 weeks in and no problems so far. In doing research NO fridge, from any manufacturer got higher than an 87 rating from Consumer Reports, and owner reviews pretty much matched that. I just knew I did NOT want another Samsung product .. Zero luck with them :( Overall, this series had the best reviews and the most "happy campers". Some were making comments about the ice maker and compressor fans being noisy. This thing is a "beast" in size, and is as quiet as a church mouse, compared to my Samsung!! Standing next to it, I just barely hear it. The Samsung you could hear ice dropping in the master bedroom, on the other side of the house, with the door closed!! :0 I did change the color to the stainless black, a few days after ordering, and I was glad I did!! Soooo much better looking and no visible fingerprints like on the stainless. Plus, the Best Buy associate was VERY nice and accommodating with my request! Delivery was not only on time .. it was actually about 3 hours early!!! Worked out great for me ... I had JUST finished taking things out of the old one and putting them into a cooler. :) Installers were quick, professional and very courteous. Overall, my buying experience was GREAT! If I need any other appliances, I will be sure to stop here first! If anything significant changes, I will come back and give an update.

    When I started my search for a new refrigerator, I didn't think to look at Best Buy. However, we had many challenges to overcome, such as timing, shipping & delivery costs, and haul away of a custom built in. Most places like Home Depot do not haul away custom built ins - but Best Buy does! Not only do the have the best price (they price match), they also made the scheduling, shipping, and delivery of our new fridge and haul away of our custom built in FLAWLESS. Every step of the process - from the Best Buy salesperson to the white gloved delivery service they provided were the most professional, efficient, and knowledgeable. Save yourself the headache (unlike me) of calling Home Depot, Bed Bath Beyond, Costco, Sears, etc - and just go to Best Buy! Especially if you are in Hawaii - you will not regret it! A++ The fridge also is an amazing fridge. It is a BEHEMOTH - fits everything. I have a dedicated help yourself snack section (instaview shelf) for my daughter where she can see what's available and grab a snack for herself (like at a grocery store). I have a prep-ready middle section for marinated foods, ready to be cooked at any time, and a spacious freezer for all my frozen meals. It's a cook's dream!

    UPDATE ON THIS REVIEW.. delivery guys come today at 5pm after fridge stays outside since 8am yesterday with no clue of what they are there for. Call dispatch, their boss had no idea either. They are not even installation guys, only drop off. We tell them to just take the fridge back. They say they are going to the truck to charge their phone AND THE DROVE OFF!! You can't make this up. Best Buy has no resolution but I am having them pick up all 6 items that were on the order! Wish I could review less than a 1 Star!!! Customer Service experience has been absolute worst and noone can help! Had a $3900 refrigerator delivered. We declined what they call "installation" charge. The description only talks about a water line install. I didn't need help with that so I said no. Turns out this means they won't even remove the fridge from the box or give you enough time to remove and look at it to make sure its what you even ordered, let alone in good condition. Now we're stuck having to take the doors off and take it apart to get it through the door on our own. This wasn't explained and the website says free delivery gets the fridge delivered to your room of choice. That doesn't mean my front porch!

    Could not be happier about this refrigerator after

    We looked at a number of models and were close to buying another brand. The other brand had metal slides for the drawers but we found them to be sloppy and they were difficult to remove for cleaning. This refrigerator has plastic to plastic slides but the plastic is thick and a good snug fit and the slide is very smooth. Drawers are also easy to remove for cleaning. The freezer with the extra drawer are excellent, although hard to find things to fit in the one drawer as it is very shallow. The door in the door has proven to be a great feature. We were not high on it when looking and comparing put we have found it to be very handy for those go to items. We also notice when looking at other models that people commented that the items in the front door compartment did stay as cold as item in the refrigerator. I have watched this closely and that is not the case. All items in the front door stay very cold. There are plenty of other things we love about this model, but one very important to us is noise, and this unit is extremely quiet! Bottom line, we love it and would buy it again.

    Absolutely love my new fridge! I shopped for three months looking in several different stores. Looking at all the different brands and models until I finally decided on this one. Made the right choice! It has so much space! The middle drawer feature to allow you to set different temps came in handy during Thanksgiving. The freezer section has the most space of any fridge I looked at. Love the third pull out shelf. I know I’ve said love enough but I have to say I also love the glass front door and to be able to reach the frequently used items like my creamer for my coffee in the mornings. Also it was almost to large to get thru my kitchen doorway but the moving team that they sent were excellent. They took a lot of care and patience to get it installed and setup the way I liked. Would definitely recommend Best Buys service and products! The prices were also very competitive.

    The entire experience from purchase to delivery/install and using for first time was a very pleasant experience. I was prepared for the usual (as previous reviews had stated) ice maker problems. They did come but the online Geek Squad solved that issue...seems there was either an improper seal in the discharge chute or ice bin was causing the malfunctioning. They sent out a new assembly (which is a plug n play btw) and that took care of the issue. Haven’t had a party requiring massive ice usage as yet but when that time comes I figure the huge freezer can hold enough reserve so no one will go without (Even commercial ice makers have issues with meeting demands so be a realist). 5 Liter wine box’s require retracting the sliding shelf and might call for you to think outside the box typical positioning. Make sure you shut the doors in the REVERSE order of opening (show n tell your youngsters) as it could be a costly repair. No doubt the visual door within the door will more than cover any price difference by reducing cold air loss. It is a whole lot of fridge that will require a whole lot of space...make it fit, it’s worth it and you won’t be disappointed.

    We love the Door-in-Door feature and the InstaView is awesome! The black stainless is beautiful and fingerprint resistant! There is plenty of space in the fridge and freezer sections. The separate drawer in the middle is great for can drinks, sandwich meats, and other items that you use most often. The downfall is it doesn't hold a lot of ice but it does have a rapid ice feature. We don't use much ice so it is perfect for us. We would rather have the extra room for food storage. The Best Buy associates that delivered it were so careful not to damage our sealed concrete floors. The unit is so large that they had to completely remove all the doors and drawers to get it through our front door. They took their time to disassemble and reassemble them without leaving a scratch on unit. Thank you Best Buy for EXCELLENT SERVICE!!

    We have had this beautiful refrigerator for about a month now and love it. The size is enormous and the middle drawer is versatile so you can use it as a refrigerator or a freezer as you need to use it. My wife is a little unhappy with the water dispenser because she is not used to it yet. Her large water bottles fit at an angle and she wishes she could pull something out and away from the fridge to fill them up. Beware of shorter people. The top shelves are deep and my wife is only 5'1" so she can't reach the back to the top shelves. But, that leaves more room for me to put stuff. Haha! Overall it is a nice refrigerator and it takes time to get used to the glass door where you access things without opening the main cabin of the fridge. I think it is grand machine and thank you Best Buy and LG for this product. Delivery was excellent, sales was excellent and machine is excellent.

    Best Buy great Samsong not! Broke before 1 year

    I loved my refrigerator and the auto refill pitcher for the first 9 months. NOT anymore. The motor went out in the refill pitcher and when that happens there is no ability to control temp on your refrigerator until you get service. Samsung a week. When the refrigerator was broken I didn't think about removing the pitcher therefore it got the black ugly mold. No where in the manual does it say not dishwasher safe. I wanted it cleaned very well so i put in top rack and it melted. It is a $100.00 dollar part. Had my refrigerator not broke i would of washed it by hand as I usually do. 3 calls into them and no luck getting a replacement unless I buy. Very poor would NOT recommend Samsung!

    Pros: interior space LED lighting easy to install water filter freezer has 2 additional trays for better storage beautiful exterior finish food odor filter large exterior controls door in door feature is handy Cons: door shelves are not adjustable the water and ice dispensers are in 2 separate spots only the bottom refrigerator shelf pulls out finger prints and smudges stick out We love the fridge overall. I just wish they just offered a fridge this size without all the fancy features and make it cheaper. The knock feature is neat but mainly a gimmick. You can kinda still see in without the light coming on anyway. We have the "stainless steel" finish but magnets won't stick to the front so it's obviously just a veneer of some sort. The magnets do stick on the sides of the fridge. If I'm being picky, I should be allowed at this price. If you can afford it, you will love it too.

    Ok, this fridge isn't perfect, but it's darn close! We brought this to replace our old counter depth refrigerator, which looked very pretty, but was functionally annoyingly too small. This new fridge is fantastically large!! It doesn't come without faults - the ice maker is too small, but the freezer space is large enough to accomodate a second ice bin or a bag of ice. We did have a problem with our refrigerator - upon delivery, the light in the Instaview Door was way too sensitive. It would come on randomly if you walked past the fridge, if you looked at it wrong, breathed too heavily. Anything would cause the light to come on. I called LG customer service and they didn't hesitate to send out a local repair tech. They ordered a few parts and replaced them and the fridge now works perfectly. Extremely happy with the customer service of Best Buy and LG.

    I will not recommend to any of my family and friends. This is our second refrigerator from LG. Can you believe it? We decided to buy again because the first one we had for our old home was very good for almost three years. When we moved to our new home, we decided to buy again. BUT, not even half year (about 4 months), the motherboard was broken and it took us about 3 weeks of waiting time to replace a motherboard. Our realtor contacted us about 5 months after we sold our home. The buyer told her that the refrigerator broken down. It is too soon for a refrigerator to replace a motherboard. I am very concern of the LG quality.

    OK, I’m going to be honest. This refrigerator was a replacement for my other LG model. I am glad I purchased the extended warranty, because my refrigerator stopped cooling. The extended warranty was a good investment. Let’s face it, with the cost of refrigerators these days, you need to be smart and get the extra warranty.I got another LG model because I was impressed with how the refrigerator operated over the years. Things break. So I am very happy to recommend LG model refrigerator to any other Best Buy customer out there. My only complaint, is I could not get another five year extended warranty. I had to settle for the three year extended warranty. Make the investment, if you’re going to spend that kind of money on a refrigerator, what is another $300?

    Wow! What a fridge. No it does not do any magic or anything like that. What it does is just work as a fridge that just does everything very well. It is roomy. It is quiet. There are LED lights that shine brightly inside. The shelves are handy in the freezer. The flexible drawer is handy because the temperature is adjustable. You can use it as an additional freezer, non-frozen food or specialty items such as wine or cheeses that have different temperatures from the rest. Then it looks beautiful too. Nitpicks? Well the ice maker was slow when it was new. The water dispenser is in a different location from the ice dispenser. I thought that the knock feature was a gimmick but it really does come in handy. If you can afford it, I highly recommend it.

    I love this refrigerator!!! I like how there is a shelf that you can slide under to give more height in a certain area without taking the whole shelf out. The ice in the door is wonderful. SmarthinQ let's you control temps n let you know issues. The cooler drawer makes a soda, beer, wine, ect so cold because we can set it to a lower temperature than the refrigerator temperature and I love the dividers in it. The freezer is huge n deep with 2 drawers that slide out. 3 issues...spots on the ice n water dispenser and inside the refrigerator there isn't veggie/fruit control. Not understanding this because it comes on the lower grade 2 door 2 drawer lg refrigerator. Trouble with the smartinQ. Overall I love it
