    The Big One

This fridge is massive. It turned out to be a bit of a challenge to get it inside the house. But well worth it — you get lots of space and organizational options in this fridge, and the fit and finish are very nice. The door-within-door concept is also more than just a fun gimmick, it offers convenience and a good way to keep frequently used items from getting buried behind other items in the fridge. Set-up was simple, just hook up the water supply line, plug the fridge in, and flip the 2 ice makers on. Our unit came with the water filters and air filter pre-installed, and it looks like it’ll be pretty easy to replace the filters when the time comes. The secondary ice maker that’s hidden in the freezer and makes big round ice cubes — well, realistically that probably won’t get used very often since the regular ice maker is more convenient to access (being built into the door). However, if you choose the slow carefully-make-3-clear-ice-balls-day option — the resulting ice spheres are quite impressive after the first couple initial batches are processed. They’re big, long-lasting, nearly perfectly round — it’s like you’re getting a custom ice sculpture in your drink haha. The “smart home” Wifi aspect of the fridge, as with many appliances, is very limited in what it can do. Connecting the fridge to Wifi and associating it with the phone app and smart home speakers (e.g., Alexa) was very easy, and it’s nice to be able to change the fridge and freezer temperature and a couple of basic options via the app, and to get energy usage reports and filter replacement reminders, and set up additional energy-saving modes. But that’s basically all it does, so I don’t think I’ll be having much reason to talk to Alexa on a daily basis about what I want the fridge to do. Much like how I rarely need to ask Alexa to control my LG “smart” washer, dryer, or stove. Which sometimes makes me wonder if it’s worth the extra trickle of energy and Wifi bandwidth to keep the Wifi turned on 24/7 all of these devices. Until smart appliance have robots built inside so you can say, “Alexa, pour me a drink and do my laundry for me,” I’m not sure what great improvements could be made to the current smart functionality. But for what it is, so far it’s working great. Most importantly, of course, the fridge is doing great with its core functions: It’s keeping the fridge cool and the freezer frozen. Hopefully it keeps working for a long time — longevity is always the real test for appliances.

    Great refrigerator

This refrigerator replaced a similar one that was 10 years old and died. There were a few changes. The icemaker was different (you have to push a button for ice or water), it has two refrigerator drawers instead of three, and it doesn't have the little flip out drawer in the front of the freezer. However, this one does have the craft ice, which is kind of cool. All in all, although I liked my old one better, this is a great refrigerator. The door-in-door is wonderful and there is plenty of room in the refrigerator. The freezer is also spacious and the four separate compartments (including two sliding drawers) keep the contents handy and easy to find. Delivered on time with very professional installers.

    Love our big fridge

10 Years ago when we moved into this house, we got a small "open box" side by side fridge. We were broke and needed a temporary fix. After a decade, we were ready to upgrade 22 cu ft. The LG is highly rated on CR, and we are excited to try all the features. If I think about it I'll add that part later. But we moved the location of the fridge and still need to run the line. More on that later. The LG is great! We really appreciate the wide opening via the french door configuration and all the space is just outstanding for our family of four. A feature that I have liked more than I thought I would has been the Door-in-Door feature. We stash our most common drinks and a few condiments here (Cholula Sauce for starters). It is not a reason to buy the fridge, but it has turned out to be a cool little bonus. The short of it is, we love everything about this fridge. From its spacious interior (both the fridge and the freezer), to its great look (black stainless steel), to how easy it is to clean. My only complaint isn't with the fridge at all. It is actually with the installation. We paid the extra to have the water line installed. Like I said, we moved the location, so we knew we would need a new line. I choose the installation service that said "no pre-existing line." However, when they came to do the installation they said that they couldn't connect it because there was no pre-existing line. When I pointed out that was what I had paid for, the guy shrugged and said "Yeah, they are really unclear about that on the web site, but we don't do that." So, I have this great fridge, which should be delivering me pure filtered water and making me ice-cubes (including fancy round ones) and... nothing. I'm having to find a plumber to come install everything for me. So that was a bit of a hassle, but not the fault of the fridge. I blame best buy for not providing a higher level of clarity on what they could and could not do.

This was a great buy. It is expensive but worth the money. First off the capacity is outstanding. You will not have to worry about space ever again. While you may look at the door in door feature as superfluous, you will soon appreciate the easy and energy efficient manner in which you may access your often used staples. The in door ice maker and in door ice/water dispenser with controllable ounce dispenser is also useful and the craft ice is a wonderful feature useful well beyond cocktails. Simply put, this is a beautiful, well designed highly functional and efficient refrigerator with enormous capacity. All the ingredients for a great buy.

so far, so good, the door in door is a great way to avoid opening the larger door - the shelf can hold a gallon milk container easily. the freezer section with the three shelves is very efficient. the measured option for water dispenser is neat, but not necessarily needed. the craft ice is great - definitely a great option to have for the “wow” factor. The refrigerator space is versatile and spacious. Only real negative is the door ice dispenser container is small- but really just fill a bin in the freezer drawer if you’re having a party a few days in advance. Great looking appliance and functions as expected.

We’ve had it a for a few weeks so far and love it. We’ve had a similar model for a few years, but sold it before a move to avoid storing it and purchased this one for our new place. The craft ice melts nice and slow for cocktails and is a fun add! The stainless back adds an extra clean look and is an upgrade from our previous model that, while not functional, we really love. Sound - super quiet less the craft ice dropping when the tray is empty, but this can be turned off and is a rare sound/not a bother. Fridge/freezer cooling - great cooling and insulation even in the doors, which is typically the least cooled in a fridge. The door in door helps you keep the fridge temps consistent when grabbing frequently used items and I was not expecting to love it as much as I do. Storage - only so/so feature of the storage is really that flat roll out between the top and bottom portion of the freezer drawer. It’s great for cooling down sheet trays of items when cooking or baking but is a bad choice for storing other frozen goods based on shape and potential to get stuck. Other - the measured pour function is nice, did not think I would use but have used several times already. - look - it’s not ugly? Most fridges are not gorgeous, but many are ugly. This one is not. - shelves adjust easily without being flimsy. I am short, so this is a must. - filter is easy to get to. Overall, we did a lot of searching and love it. Only thing it’s missing that we really liked is that flex drawer between freezer and fridge, but it also may have made the freezer space too limited. Last, we did get this with a free mini fridge (tall slim one), which is honestly the best looking mini fridge I’ve ever seen and is now our little home bar fridge.

I researched refrigerators for months before purchasing. This refrigerator has a crisp coldness to it. I can put something in the fridge and very quickly it is cool. I absolutely love the double ice makers. The room in the refrigerator is incredible. Love the three drawers in the freezer. It is so quiet. We came from a builder's grade G.E., and I cannot imagine going back. The only thing that I can complain about is the room for tall things, you do have to sacrifice space to move the shelf up. I think most refrigerators you are going to have a compromise somewhere.

The refrigerator has a nice area for different sized items, and it can accommodate a large tray or a pizza box. Nice drawers for vegetables too. The door-in-door feature has come in handy and will surely save energy. The craft ice maker is a really unique feature too. The freezer has three different storage areas which really help sort out the frozen food by type and size and prevents stacking a lot of packages on top of each other.

Enjoying this fridge, great to have the door-in-door feature for my milk and half & half. The craft ice feature is a fun little frill for your whiskey, too. It’s a good looking machine overall, quite roomy inside. Only been using it for a few weeks, but no complaints here thus far.

First, the unit came damaged. Best Buy and the delivery company were on it right away. Replacement is on the way, and I get to keep this one while I am waiting. The unit has run flawlessly, love the craft ice and has a ton of room inside. The stainless finish is very nice and super easy to keep clean when the kids put their hands all over it! Great lighting and the quick access door is very handy. Very happy with this refrigerator!

Absolutely an amazing Fridge! The door-in-door feature is great for keeping drinks cold without exposing the full interior to room temperatures. The craft ice is excellent for those special drinks. The cooling systems and controls are easy to operate with plenty of room for our items. I do wish the ice maker held more ice but that is the only thing so far I would change. If you are in need of a new fridge I highly recommend this one!

For a fridge, this thing is nearly perfect. The ice comes out quickly. No leaks so far. The door-in-door feature is amazing and we use it multiple times a day. Large enough to hold jugs of milk and more. The craft ice is huge bonus, even if you're not using it for a cocktail. This fridge has tons of space. It's been a great upgrade from our old Samsung that started leaking from the ice dispenser. We've yet to run out of ice in this one as well. Highly recommend.

So far, this refrigerator is a champ. It is large enough to accommodate our needs, and its features are well thought out. I think the LG ice maker is the best and the craft ice maker is very nice. The PrintProof Stainless Steel is outstanding! Our old stainless steel refrigerator was difficult to keep clean, this one stays clean. This is a WiFi appliance. When you download the LG app, you can control temperatures, ice production and power settings from your mobile device. We haven’t found the need for those remote controls, but people that are more active may find that useful. Setting up the app is a little difficult. I set it up on my phone to see how it worked. Apparently, after the initial setup, my wife could not set it up on her phone. I had to send her an invitation to join the app. She has had problems keeping the app working. Evidently, LG can monitor the product via the Internet and provide you information about filter changes and tips on operating more efficiently. They also offer a subscription service for purchasing the water and air filters. We are enjoying our new appliance. Also, Best Buy’s delivery and installation was GREAT. The guys were on time and knew what they were doing. They were very careful while removing the old refrigerator and installing the new product.

Pro: * Door in Door is very convenient * The filter placement is better on this updated model- we had an earlier unit and lost head space on the main shelf * Craft Ice is a huge plus * Good design to allow flexibility in shelf placements * Higher flow water than old unit. Also much improved ice function. Con: * Craft ice is nice, but at the cost of space in the freezer * Water taste isn't as crisp (filtered tasting) as old unit Overall are really solid refrigerator and would recommend it.

This fridge is big. It's not counter depth - but it's also not that much bigger and it holds a lot more. We measured and decided to go with the larger size and I'm glad we did. I thought he door-in-the-door thing was stupid...but now I use it al the time and am glad I got it. One thing - it does diminish the amount of internal door storage on that side. Overall it's a winner. Oh and the craft ice (that I also thought was dumb) is actually a lot of fun. It takes two days to make an ice cube - but it's fun.

I bought this Refrigerator back in July 2020 primarily because of the size and the craft ice feature. In the past year and a half I've only experienced one issue (two times). There hasn't been any leaks or major issues however the craft ice motor has died on me two times. The first time it died was in February 2021 and the second time was December 2021. The first replacement was covered under warranty, however the second one I had to pay for out of pocket ($220 labor plus parts). Outside of this issue, it has been perfect. If you're considering buying this unit I do recommend it, however I would advise you to consider the extended warranty and also wait for it to go on sale (July timeframe).

We purchased this as a replacement for a failing LG that had served us well. Although it is listed as about 1.5 cubic feet less, the arrangement of the storage is vastly improved. We use the Door-in-Door all the time and it helps keep the unit cool. Finally, I LOVE the craft ice maker!!!

Large capacity is what we were after and are completely satisfied. Door within a door is convenient but the space within that area is somewhat limited. In-door icemaker works great, as does water dispenser. Measured dispensing is often handy for cooking, etc. Was pleasantly surprised at how useful the Craft Ice in the freezer is, is NOT just for bourbon and alcoholic drinks like we thought. Is VERY useful for adding to jug water coolers, large-opening insulated drink cups, or anywhere you want the ice to last a longer time than ordinary cubed ice. Overall it's a premium-priced refrigerator that delivers that same premium level of features and convenience. Time will tell as to whether it remains trouble-free for many years like we hope!
