This soundbar is absolutely amazing. Great clarity, powerful subwoofer sends sounds in every direction. But to get the full experience you will have to buy the rear satellite kit speakers. It'll upgrade your sound from 3.1.2 to 5.1.2, great overhead speakers for full Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support. Plus it has 4k hdr passthrough and it features Meredian hi-res audio. The Bluetooth supports Atmos and DTS X as well. It has HDMI inputs and outputs. One of each plus optical if you still use that for audio setup. And it has HDMI eARC so you can sync your phone to it through wifi for audio casting with all the big name music streaming music services. Comes with Deezer and Spotify premium for free. The sounds experience is phenomenal. It is a relatively big soundbar. Your tv should be at least a 49" or the soundbar will overpower the tv. Very easy setup by the wall. Even comes with a mounting kit. If your thinking about buying this soundbar I highly recommend it. But make sure you also buy the rear satellite kit speakers for full immersion.

Best sound bar i ever had supports dolby atmos When playing blue ray disc the sound that comes from this is amazing. The wife bought this for me for my birthday she ended up getting a huge discount on it $300 plus Don't remember exactly how much but it was in the $300 plus range For the price its amazing even if u can geab this fkr $500 it's still worth the investment U can control the subwoofer level center channel and the over head speakers to give it that extra boom She bought me the rear speakers to go with this for christmas as my birthday and Xmas are right next to each other The sound over all amazing.... It has a night time mode so it doesnt disturb the people in your house who are trying to sleep or the nerghbors next door which is a plus.... you control eveything in the app The only bad thing about it is the app sometimes act up and doesn't connnect but over all its amazing Goes well with my 77 inch oled C1

This sound bar will blow you away! Easy to use...just plug and play. You need to connect to the ARC in on your TV for the "atmos" effect. At first, it's like your ears are playing tricks on you...your brain just isn't used to this type of sound. I recommend the Spatial Audio or Lossless tracks available on iTunes to hear the difference...it is like being at a concert! A little pricy for not having the rear channels included (available for $179) but they are "wired" to a wireless receiver...not the best technology so I have didn't buy those. You won't regret this purchase, however!

Excellent addition to our LG TV and music sources

We purchased the LG SP8YA 3.1.2 Channel Soundbar for connection to our LG 65" QNED85 TV for several reasons. First, at the sale price of less than $300 it's an EXCEPTIONAL value. The other reasons being features and performance. The Dolby Atmos and DTS:X processing matches the same in our TV, plus through the eARC connection the TV's α7 Gen 5 AI Processor can automatically tune the system to the acoustics of our room. The sound is an enjoyable step up from the already above average sound of the TV alone, The SP8YA provides wide frequency and dynamic range, solid bass response and good spatial "image" even without the optional rear speakers. There are multiple automatic settings for media type, as well as user adjustable settings if you prefer the extra flexibility to fine tune your preferences. It's capable of volume much louder than we prefer with no signs of distortion, so playing music videos and concert DVD or BluRay disks feels like being there in person. The only thing you'll miss is people standing in front of you with their phone taking videos and blocking your view. In addition to TV audio, we utilize it for music streaming from our devices over bluetooth, and for our vinyl collection from a turntable to the USB input. Yes there are better soundbars, but you'll probably have to pay more than triple the price for a significant improvement. Buy yourself one now at the incredible low price before they're all gone

If you're thinking about buying this, don't think anymore and just do it. This soundbar took my TV experience to a whole new level. Hooking it up to the HDMI ARC port on my tv, the quality is amazing. When watching movies on Netflix/AppleTV/Disney+/etc. it automatically detects movies that have Dolby Atmos audio and switches to that mode. In that moment, my living room becomes like a movie theatre - the subwoofer pumps out amazing levels of bass and the soundbar has extremely clear sound for dialogue but comes to life during action scenes. You will not regret this purchase.

This 3.1.2 Atmos soundbar is connected via eArc HDMI to a 55" LG C1 Oled, also using a Chromecast 4k and an Apple TV 4k streamer, Sony blu-ray 4k player. I had a 5.1 HT system running from a Yamaha RX-V4A but no Dolby Atmos with that AVR. So I decided to downsize and try a Dolby Atmos soundbar. A week later I bought the rear SPK8-S kit and everything is running smoothly. No problems with setup. I did have to slide the subwoofer down to about -10 db since it was so loud and too boomy, also set it on a sub isolation pad. So far I've had no disconnections between sub or satellites but I did upgrade the speaker wires on the rear kit. Unlike some other reviewers I've not experienced any problems with wifi slow down or interference on my 5ghz network and most of the components are hardwired and located in the same console as the Asus router and modem. The LG Soundbar app is convenient and gives me easy control of the audio modes including adjustments of individual speaker levels and tone. I had a tough decision to make, upgrade my existing AVR and add two more height speakers to an already crowded living area to gain Atmos, or go with this soundbar and rear speaker kit. I usually listen to music from my Blusound Powernode and Kef Q150s via Qobuz or Apple Music so my 2.1 system was not cutting it for an immersive cinema experience. I'm not an audiophile when it comes to movie soundtracks but I do appreciate a great sounding system and this is a huge upgrade over the LG TV speakers without breaking the bank. I'm pleased with this system so far and surprised that the upfiring speakers really do bounce effects off the ceiling as well as they do. Are there any cons? Not many to mention at this price range. Sure I could have bought a Sonos Arc and surrounds and spent 1,700 but that would have been overkill for my smallish living area. This is perfect.

Got this on sale for $400. You'd have a hard time finding much better than this for that price. + sound quality + features (Alexa/Google Home integration & Bluetooth) + price when on sale - LG Sound Bar app (it's not amazing and I had to use the Google Home app just for initial setup. Fortunately, it appears to work after setup but I can see people getting frustrated early on)

I have this connected to a LG TV, and I couldn't be happier. I added the rear speakers for the full 5.1.2 surround, and it sounds amazing! I aimed the subwoofer port at the corner of the wall, and it hits nicely. I love that this sound bar gets loud! I use it for a theater experience and for listening to music. Happily recommend this product.

Bought this on sale. Definitely an upgrade from my Sony 2.1 soundbar. Also purchased the wireless surround speakers. Sound is top quality using the dolby atmos audio feature. Great all around clear sound from the front speakers all the way to the heavy bass. Theater quality experience in my living room. The only negative is the app is hard to set up and unreliable. Easy to connect to my sony X85J tv through the arc port.

I was comparing the SP8YA and SP9YA to see if it's worth it to pay the extra $200 for the SP9YA. But according to Rtings, SP9YA gives poor surround sound performance but has around same ratings as the SP8YA so it's not worth it in my opinion. For that price point, you should consider the Samsung HW-Q850A instead. I planned to buy this and pair it with 2 LG Rear Channel Speakers. This is an Open Box - Satisfactory condition item btw. Upon receiving the item, the outside box was heavily damaged. The sound bar and the sub-woofer were thoroughly wrapped with cushions. They show no scratch or cosmetic damages at all. Included a remote and 2 power cables. No manuals or optical cable (not needed anyways). Setup was easy. The remote layout is simple. Bass performance is amazing, at least sounds way better than the Sony HT-S350 that I previously had. You can check the review on rtings.com for more info. It's highly recommended to install LG Sound Bar app on your smartphone so that you can adjust the settings. I don't know why but somehow I cannot change the sound mode on the remote. I must use the LG C1 remote to go to sound settings on TV in order to change the mode. Other than that, everything has been amazing. Overall, the quality is good. I saved a bunch of money thanks to the open box.

If you able to snag this up for under $200 like me it worth the money so much so i bought two of them one for $150 and other $90 both open box floor models i got very lucky. I did have trouble trying to connect the lg app but after like some time like a few hours it connected dont know why it took much time to connect but glad it did on both systems. This system had excellent dialog nice and clean voice even during extreme action pack scenes. The atmos effect is spot on definitely hear the atmos sound. Now the subwoofer is a beast. Man it will get nice and low rumble and punch at the same time. You will not be disappointed at all its and overall very nice system. For you reading this and were able to snag one for a low price congrats! If you missed out save the LG SP9YA and wait next year for it to go on clearance.

I had purchased this product open box and unfortunately, it didn't come with a replacement box but my local store was more than willing to help give a discount as it was labelled "excellent" condition. I 100% cannot recommend this soundbar enough at the discounted price. I cannot believe the sound quality I've been missing out on watching tv and listening to music on my TV alone. It paired very easily with my LG CX using the LG soundbar app on my phone and it's interface is so minimal and clean, that you don't really need to use your soundbar remote to control it. But because my TV is also LG, they work seamlessly together. I connected it via eARC and I can't imagine going back to not having a soundbar. If you're on the fence about it, look to see if you can save $ on an open-box deal because you won't regret it. The crisp audio in shows like game of thrones to the booming bass while playing dubstep is an absolute game changer!

This is a great soundbar (LG SP8YA). It took less than a couple minutes to have this bar up and running. Pairs seamlessly with TV without much configuring. (LG A2 OLED) Sound quality is great and the bass is good from the subwoofer. However, I cannot give this soundbar 5 Stars because the Wi-Fi issue is a serious problem. This knocked my 400 mbps internet down to less than 10 mbps, and I had to move my router and completely rewire my home cable/internet setup. I originally had the router within a few feet of the soundbar which is what causes the problem. i did not have the issues with previous soundbars... but it is what it is. After getting the router moved though, the problems disappeared and I can enjoy the soundbar for what it is - a great product. I should also mention that once I moved the router, the subwoofer stopped cutting in and out as well.

Very good sound quality and I do recommend getting the wireless rear surround speakers. Much of the sound quality broadcast isn’t very good but anything with Dolby Atmos is definitely theater quality. Mounting on the wall was very easy and it took a while to tune it to sound great. You can feel the bass outside your house so hopefully your not to close to your neighbors.

Works great with the C1 Oled. Not sure about all the negative reviews about connectivity issues with the app. I have Xfinity and have had no problems at all. It didn't slow down my internet or keep disconnecting, although it took me couple times for the network to find it, but once it did it hasn't been an issue. The trick is to search for the sound bar on your iphone first, then launch the app, and it works fine. Oh, and it sounds great. The integration features with the tv speakers also make it sound even better, more like 5.1.2. The only down side is that there's a definite sweet spot for the best sound. I have a medium/large living room and in order to get the full effect of Atmos and the bass in movies you have to sit dead center in the middle of the screen, otherwise the sounds quality/Atmos effect drops quite a bit. Still sounds good, but you don't get the surround effect. Lots of cool features on the app. It's a definite must to download the app even if you directly connect it to the Arc connection. Yes, it has to be connected to your wifi first, but once you do that you can switch back to arc and it works fine w/out interfering with the wifi connection.

I haven't had a sound system for my television in many years but decided to get one to go with my new LG OLED television. I didn't want a full system so decided on a soundbar system. I eventually decided on this 3.1 system over a 5.1 simply for the cost difference and that I'm not an audiophile so didn't need such a set up. This soundbar was easy to unpack and set up and I had it putting out sound in about 15 minutes. The only trouble I ran into was getting my OLED tv (also a LG) synced with this soundbar but once I did things have run smoothly. I've set up the outgoing sound to the preset bass setting and enjoy it. There are other setting (cinema, gaming) that may sound better to you based on the video source. I would recommend this soundbar if you're like me and just want a simple upgrade from your television's built in speaker(s).

Sound quality is a 7/10 on the audiophile scale. It does quite well for what it is, but in certain frequency ranges you can definitely tell that the drivers in the sound bar are sized and shaped for packaging, not 100% perfect audio quality. It's not going to give you the same fidelity and depth of field as a nice set of three-driver speakers and larger subwoofer, but that's not what it is built to compete against. The subwoofer fills in the "meat" of the sound pretty well and has good punch. It's a sold, easy-to-set-up system. The wireless subwoofer does occasionally lose connection, but it comes back in less than 15 seconds. Only real complaint is every once in a while it refuses to automatically connect to the LG TV we have and I have to power-cycle the whole entertainment system at the surge protector to get everybody working together again.
