Very nice 3.1 soundbar

When I first hooked up the soundbar to my TV, I could not get the sound through the HDMI port. I thought there was something wrong with it. However, after more thorough research, I had failed to adequately change enough settings on my TV. The only caveat is that it appears to use HDMI 1.4, not 2.0 or 2.1. You won't be able to run new game consoles through the HDMI ARC ports at speed.

My husband can hear the dialog

I called Best Buy to order a sound bar. The technical advisor told me a 2 channel wouldn't help with dialog, and I needed a 3 channel. I really appreciated the help. My husband can easily hear the dialog without his hearing aids, and the sound isn't too loud for me. I only have it turned up to 17. This soundbar makes it much more clear.

DTS Virtual X

So far, I like the DTS Virtual X setting the best for movies and TV shows but I switch it to standard for the nightly news. The only negative for me is that my TV is not mounted to the wall and the sound bar blocks the remotes direct access. I have to lift the remote up over my head to change channel and volume. Really don't want to mount it to the wall (100 yr old house) but I might have to. Again overall pleased with the sound output!
