LG SN6Y Soundbar

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was really enjoying this LG soundbar, until the wireless subwoofer stopped working two and a half weeks after I purchased it. I even bought the rear surround speakers for it! The subwoofer just failed to connect even though the green LED on the back of it was solid green. It even stayed green when the power to the main soundbar was off! It should have turned red when the soundbar was off. I couldn’t even get it into the pairing mode! I spent 3 days researching the problem, and tried every fix I could find, but still no luck. LG Support could not help me either, and wanted me to send it back to them for repair or replacement. I should have paid more attention to the 1 star reviews that all stated the the subwoofer would eventually fail. From what I can gather, it appears to be the Bluetooth module inside the subwoofer that fails. I’ve got it all packed up, and will be returning it to Best Buy tomorrow. If you purchase this soundbar, you might have better luck than I did, but just be aware of this subwoofer issue!

IR sensitivity could be a little bit better, but we have it set-back a bit on our hearth for aesthetics. But, overall the TV turns this thing on and off automatically and volume controls pass through CEC HDMI. Really slick.

Didn’t last long

Subwoofer is now unresponsive and the warranty expired a few months ago. Manufacturer said to ship it back and they’ll repair it at uncertain cost. Seems like a better idea to spend the repair money on a product that might last longer.
