Reading online this was due to a firmware update that bricked the woofer, lots of complaints on this product in the last year. LG customer service is awful and can't you cannot get a replacement subwoofer on its own, need to get it repaired or buy a whole new sound bar/woofer combination. I own several LG TVs and other electronics and this experience has made me avoid this brand for the future.

Shut it down and sometimes quits doing it when I turn it on again. When not having this issue works great.

The first one didn’t even come with a remote OR power cords. Had to return it and order another one. The 2nd box did have a remote, but I never could get the remote to work with it. There is no light on the sound bar, so you can’t even tell if it’s on or off. I had to turn it on manually and finally got her fire stick remote to control the volume. But we just have to leave it on all the time since remote to it doesn’t work. I called LG and they sent another remote. It doesn’t work either. I can’t say I would recommend it.
