Has potential but bass cuts in and out
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Subwoofer cuts out periodically. Have tried every troubleshooting option I could find online but I still lose my bass for anywhere from 5-30 seconds every 10-20 minutes. Very frustrating. Great sound when it works though.

Subwoofer didn't work
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The subwoofer would not power on. Very disappointing. Packed it all up and took it back to the store. Does LG not test this stuff before they put it in the box?

Problematic Soundbar
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought the soundbar based on positive customer reviews. We would be watching a program for approx 1/2 hour when the volume dramatically dropped, requiring us to shut the soundbar and restart it. We tried using Bluetooth to listen to music. After a 1/2 hour, the source would change from Bluetooth. After a few days of this, we returned the soundbar.

No Bass and Barely Step Up from TV Speakers.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No Bass and Barely Step Up from TV Speakers. We bought this to go with our new LG 4K and was highly disappointed from the performance (bass and overall sound). Returned and bought a new Klipsch to replace our current Klipsch (old one is 5 yrs old and didn’t have arc). Do yourself a favor and listen to other soundbars first (Klipsch, JBL, Polk). You’ll quickly hear and feel difference. Oh and I adjusted sound settings for like 3 hours with different movies/shows on different sites and still sounded horrible.

Junk in disguise_Not LG's problem_Only BestBuy.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Since when is a missing power cord a nonessential item? This sound bar was missing the remote, one of the two power cords, wall mounting brackets, user manuals, optical cable. Do not buy unless you check it out first hand. Do not believe their evaluation of condition prior to purchase. Good thing I did not accept missing essential parts as acceptable, no matter the price. Totally worthless if you can not power it up. This was rated satisfactory in their condition rating system. I would rate it junk, and make me best offer for parts.

No bass in Ohio’s
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wasn’t a fan of this sound bar. It didn’t really have much base and the highs were kind of poor. I bought a few sound bars of different types and this is when I return

Easy Setup, Great Sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This LG 3.1-channel high-resolution audio soundbar with wireless subwoofer features DTS technology. It offers several connection options including optical port, HDMI (with ARC), USB, and Bluetooth connectivity. My first impressions of the soundbar was the size. Having used a comparable Samsung bar (without sub) it is much smaller than that one. It is very compact and lightweight which makes fitting it in shallow and small height spaces a breeze. Keep in mind the length of these bars are still fairly long no matter which you choose although they do vary some. The subwoofer was fairly small and lightweight as well. When it came to setup of the soundbar and sub to my older Samsung TV it was as simple as plugging the two in to power and turning them on. The subwoofer automatically paired to the bar right out of the box. The connection from the soundbar to the TV was via optical and again as simple as plugging in the cables in on either end. After that making sure the TV’s settings were set to optical audio it was that easy. LG does provide an audio optical cable in case you need one. The soundbar features two front speakers (80watts), a center channel speaker (40watts), and the 6” wireless subwoofer (220watts) for a total of 420 watts RMS. This configuration supports DTS Virtual X, can play Bluetooth music streaming, and automatically adjusts the sound level to enhance the audio experience. This soundbar does support high-resolution audio which allows you 24-bit/96kHz audio. LG does include a remote with this subwoofer which can provide most (if not all) functions of the soundbar however I choose to control it from a Harmony universal remote and it worked fine. Some functions cannot be altered from the Harmony remote but adjusting the sound qualities can be done using the LG remote whenever that it needed. For everyday usage the Harmony does the trick nicely. One thing I found rather annoying coming from the Samsung soundbar was the fact the little display on the LG bar does NOT completely turn off after so long of sitting idle. The display will dim fairly low but in dark conditions the display is somewhat distracting as there is always a little white light coming from the soundbar. The Samsung one is much nicely for this fact as it looks stealthy since it turns off completely. Other than this I have no complaints about the sound quality or operation. Sound is nice and crisp with tight bass response. Don’t expect booming bass from the 6” subwoofer but when strategically placed it provides a good amount of bass to fill the room. When close enough to the soundbar you can hear the separation between the side/center channels but this tapers off the farther away one is from the unit but this doesn’t take away from the sound quality. Con: - Always on display (Dims but never turns off like other bars) Overall, I highly recommend the LG SL6Y. The improvement in sound is every bit what you would want, and it will greatly enhance the audio experience for any TV it is connected to.

Very unhappy
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did not have a chance to set this up until two weeks after I purchased or it would have been returned. When it works it does sound great but you don't know if it will work. I have had to delete it and reinstall it several times. I researched online and I am not the only person who is having issues. I did the suggestions and it still continues to stop working. Choose another product.

LG Trouble
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not happy with the purchase. The sound bar would not turn on after 6 months and when it did, the enhanced sound would go in and out, so instead of a wall of sounds, it’s a circle. Very annoying. Already had it repaired only to have it do it again. I’m probably going to a new Brand but bought the wireless speaker to compliment it, so I’m stuck with a $500 system that is useless

Doesn’t work with Vizio TVs
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to use with a 75 inch Vizio tv. Arc connection never worked. Sound bar kept turning off, and eventually stopped working all together. Just white noise after about a week. I returned it and bought a Samsung sound bar, because Samsung is nearly compatible with everything. Everything works, Arc, great sound, no issues. Now I remember why I don’t LG products. It probably works fine if you have an LG tv, but not with other brands.
