This is my second LG-32UL950-W after the first unit (from another vendor) blew up after a mere week of use. I never experience issues with Apple products, or electronics in general, so I assume my problems with the first monitor were a total aberration.
I use the LG as a work monitor for writing, data analyses, and graphics, powered by a Mac mini via Thunderbolt 3. In terms of the screen, text is crisp, brightness is even, colors are rich, and graphics and photos look great. The monitor looks sharp, albeit quite plastic-y from the rear. However, it's a little rickety such that touching the display (e.g., when pointing out something onscreen to a colleague) will cause the screen to wobble in a way that machined aluminum Apple products typically don't. That said, the stand looks pretty good and adjusts nicely for height and tilt, and decent cable routing allows for a very clean appearance approaching a Mac aesthetic. The monitor ships with several cables, most importantly for me the TB3 cable, and set up was a breeze.
While the first LG monitor looked perfectly good before it failed, I was very disappointed by the lack of volume from the speakers even though it's strictly a work display (i.e., I don't need massive volume for gaming or streaming movies). I was actually considering external computer speakers to better hear Zoom calls. Fortunately, this second unit is much louder! Instead of cranking volume to max, I'm now able to listen at 8-10 on a scale of 100. The speakers won't fill a room, but they are plenty when I sit at my desk.
Finally, integration with my Mac is okay but imperfect. The display functions well enough out-of-the-box, but it doesn't respond to any keyboard commands for adjusting volume or tweaking screen brightness. Perhaps that will change when/if I calibrate the monitor with Apple's Display Calibrator Assistant. Until then, I make changes using the onboard monitor controls.

After owning this monitor for 9 months. I finally stumble across something that works for me.
If any of you guys are having wake issue try a different usb-c port on your Mac and on your monitor. I've found out that one has always been an issue for other people. Switching the usbc port for what ever reason has resolved the problem.
I've done both waking it from sleep. Pressing the button on the Mac mini or the keyboard. I've been lucky that both have worked fine for me so far. In mission control I also turned off displays have separate spaces.
I hope this helps out anyone else who was frustrated with this bug.
