No agitator, no like
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll never get another washer without an agitator. Doesn't use much water either and sometimes clothes don't seem like they even got wet. The remedy for this is to always wash on the bulky/bedding cycle, which means all the other settings are good for nothing. And there are balancing rods in there that go bad. May take days to do a load (unless you babysit the machine) because it keeps stopping due to "ue" uneven load. Can't wait to get a new washer.

Believe the Hype!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I found that for the cost of a CHEAP front loader, I could get all the features of a HIGH END front loader, IN THIS TOP LOADER, I WAS SOLD! I've been researching front loaders for MONTHS, trying to make sure I got high quality, for a good price....after reading all the reviews I was losing home.....UNTIL I FOUND THIS SET! So stylish, so functional! So in love!! Just a note, my short friend (5'3") has a hard time reaching into the drum to unload clean clothes. I don't have a problem, but I'm 5'9"

Great machine-high efficiency top loader
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was coming from an old school top loader which finally died. Didn't want front loader(bad back) and this model had many fans.have been very happy with it-water use seems great, clothes are clean, spin cycle is super, need to empty right away as wrinkles will stay in.I am 5ft7 inches and need a step stool to reach the bottom of the washer as mine is on a little platform. Soap use is so much less than my old machine.I vote 5+ for this washer!

Just an AWESOME machine!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This LG Washing machine has made my life sooooo much easier! Our clothes come out practically dry. My last machine was on the blink for quite some time and I had to "wring" my clothes of before. This machine is easy to work, LOVE-LOVE-LOVE the controls being right up front. It's really cool to see the clothes cleaning through the top glass. LG & BEST BUY are my 2 new favorite brands!

Huge capacity - very quiet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.High-end washer with huge capacity, yet it does not take up more room than the standard unit.

Great for large family and\or large loads
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: Delivery and setup people who did the install were very good, polite and professional individuals. They got it installed and hooked up very quickly. They were very knowledgeable about the product and trained me about the digital controls and features so I never had to read the manual on how to operate. It is actually pretty easy to operate and select the type of cycle, water temperature and spin speed you desire. Thumbs up for the Best buy delivery and install. And they hauled away my 28 year old Frigidaire agitator that was still functional but some internal seals started to go bad and it started to leak onto the floor when I did some washing. However it washed my clothes very well. I have 15 year old whites that look as white and bright as when new. So in my mind this new washing machine has a lot to live up to. As far as the wash I haven't noticed any difference in the appearance or cleanliness of my clothes compared to my old machine but then I have only had it 3 weeks and have only done about a dozen loads. 3 of those were large comforters that I previously had to go to the laundry mat to wash. This machine takes king size with ease and they came out clean and smelling fresh. I haven't washed any real soily clothes yet so I can't comment on that. The manual does state to use a specific liquid detergent type but I have a large box of tide powder that needs to get used up before I buy any more detergent and it seems to do a good job. I like the viewing window in the top lid as you can see how the wash and detergent suds up. Lets you know if you used to less or too much detergent. The machine runs very quiet compared to my old agitator. The auto balancing and load weight detection to know how much water to use at the start of the wash is pretty strange and can take a few minutes before the water is added but seems to work pretty well as the machine hardly shakes at all during the wash. You can see the stainless steal drum moving around quite a bit during high speed spins but you don't really feel it transferred to the chassis. The drum is mounted on some kind of suspension system which I am leery about as I have been in the electrical\mechanical manufacturing business for over 25 years and I just can't imagine how this was designed to work this way and spin at such high RPM's. I almost want to take it apart to see how it was designed to work. I am skeptical on the long term use of this design what ever it is. I didn't buy the matching dryer as the dryer I have now is only 3 years old but is your plain Jane dryer. Reviews said the clothes come out of the wash only damp because of the high speed spin so why spend extra money on a new matching dryer. I am glad I didn't because they come out of the wash feeling only damp and my drying time is now cut in half from previously and the dry time is your main expense when washing clothes. Side by side they look good together. The washing machine is only a couple inches taller then the dryer. But the drum is deep. If you are a short person with short arms you will need a step stool to be able to bend over to retrieve clothes at the bottom of the drum. I am 5' 6" with average length arms and don't need a stool but just barely. Cons: I really only have 1. Time it takes to complete a wash. Normal cotton is 57 minutes and other cycles will take up to 1:15. There is a speed wash cycle(of which I haven't tried yet) but that takes 35 minutes. My old agitator was about 25 minutes. But it did take an extra 15 to 20 minutes to dry as the clothes were still almost dripping when they came out of the wash. Conclusion: Initial impression is good. Long term use has yet to be determined. For the price you can't beat the product in my mind but then I am not into rating washing machines on a regular basis. I have quite a few of LG products and I have been satisfied with everyone of them.

Great machine, great price.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We got this machine right after my daughter left for college. You would think we would have less laundry and do less loads with her gone. But no, we're doing more. My wife loves it so much, I swear she grabs clean clothes out of the closet, just to do loads. We had a Whirlpool Duet front loader which broke down after 8 1/2 years. It served us well and thought it was a good machine. After getting the LG, we wish we would have bought it sooner. Since its a top loader, less bending compared with pulling clothes out of the front loader. The capacity is incredible. It doesn't sound like much going from a 3.8 cubic foot to 4.3, but it is a HUGE difference! Tons of clothes can be packed in. This model is SUPER quiet. This is important to us since our laundry room is right off the kitchen. We may even consider doing laundry even if company is over, LOL. With our old Whirlpool the clothes always came out damper than they should have, even on the high spin cycle. Clothes would take up to 80 minutes to dry. The LG really gets most of the water out. We can feel the difference in the weight of the clothes after pulling them out. Drying time in the SAME dryer (we still have our Whirlpool dryer) takes about 60 minutes now. That will be a lot of savings in natural gas. The clothes get very clean and smell better now than with our old machine. Very happy with it so far and hope it lasts for many years. Good value.

Quiet, intuitive, gets clothes clean & almost dry.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This washing machine is fantastic! I needed a large capacity washer that would clean thoroughly and be gentle on our family's clothes (no agitator). This is it! Plus, it's quiet, efficient, has all the wash combinations I could possibly need, and did I mention it's quiet? The "clean tub" cycle is convenient. All this at a lot less than comparable front-loaders, which I didn't want anyway. I am trying to figure out how to break my dryer so I can get the matching dryer....

Water/Power Efficient & Gentle/Aggressive
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This machine cleans well. It's very good at not tugging hard and tearing fabrics. The end of cycle chime/music is very low key. I can hear the chime pretty easily with my utility room being centered on a single level floor plan. It may not be well noticed otherwise. It's a lot more pleasant than a loud buzzing noise though. Being my first h/e machine, I found it has a lot to offer if you research how to use it properly for effectiveness. Register it and review the information LG gives you. I also researched YouTube and found a plethora of info on High Efficiency washers. Each cycle and option has a specific function per specific type of load. You can really enhance the performance and get better economy by using it how it was designed to be used. I don't like spending money and not getting 100% use of it. I'm just a dork that way. With that being said, I am very happy with this washer,. There was a lot more to learning the do's and don'ts than I initially thought there would be after researching. Very quiet and creates less work for the matching dryer with it's high speed spin. To my surprise, there are dry spots on some loads after completing cycles. Don't let the LG washer explosion videos scare you. They are a generation of h/e machines behind. The "True Balance" anti vibration system really works well. Load it as the instructions/manual tells you and your good. The perks are plentiful.

Makes my washing so much easier
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have 5 people in my family so when my washing machine started acting up I knew we needed to replace it quickly. I couldn't be more happy with my decision. We had it delivered and setup by Best Buy and the delivery guys were so helpful and quick too. They even reassured me that I had made a really good choice too. I was amazed at how quiet and efficient it runs. The size is amazing too!!! It's super easy to use and has plenty enough washing selections to meet all your needs. I've washed our queen size comforter and it did a great job!; delicates aren't a problem either. I was concerned with some of the reviews I read about the balance issues but honestly I think that must be a user issue. We haven't had one single problem and I definitely would recommend this machine to anyone. My only regret is that I didn't get the dryer yet!

Glad I followed Consumer Reports' advice
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My last washing machine lasted me 19 years with no service calls until it finally died, so this machine has a lot to live up to. I did a LOT of research on top loading washing machines and ultimately chose this one because it was Consumer Reports' highest rated top loading machine. The price is excellent for the features and large capacity. I've owned it for four weeks now and absolutely love it. The only issue I've run into is that if you mix heavy fabrics with lighter weight fabrics (like sheets & towels) in the same load, it will become unbalanced. The machine can sometimes self correct that, but I usually have to manually correct it. Solution: don't mix sheets and towels in the same load. I love the fact that I can wash any size load, it's extremely easy to use (spend 10 min. reading the user manual and you're good!) and energy efficient (uses MUCH less water than my old machine!). I'm very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend it.

Excellent quality for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this new washer for about a month now, and I couldn't be more pleased. It replaced a GE front-loading washer that I bought about four years ago that I never really cared for. So, when the control panel went out on it, it was either get it fixed for $400+ or get a new washer. I read customer and site reviews and settled on this LG washer. I'm so glad I did! The first thing I noticed was just how big the barrel is, and that there's no agitator. The washer senses how many clothes are in it and adds the right amount of water. Instead of putting the detergent in the water and then adding your clothes, there's a dispenser for detergent/bleach/softener. I can't believe how much softer my clothes feel compared to my former washer, and they dry more quickly as well. My sons even bring their laundry over from their apartment because it can handle big loads. I'm very happy with this purchase as I feel I got great quality for the price, and I will definitely look at the LG dryer as well as other LG appliances as I'm very, very satisfied with this one! (My youngest son gets a kick out of the little tune that it plays at the end of the cycle. He says it sounds like a "coming home" song for sailors who are back in port from sea. My dogs hear it and think someone's at the door. LOL)

Quiet and Roomy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this washer 2 weeks and love, love ,love it! Clothes come out clean, quiet cycles, and no agitator in the middle means I can finally wash my queen/king quilts and comforters. Read the instructions on how to load clothes and you won't have a problem with uneven load messages. Why only four stars? I'm on the short side, 5'6" and I can just reach the bottom of the washer for small stuff (socks etc.). If you're more petite this might be not the washer to get. (I'd suggest you go to the store to see if you can reach properly on a floor model.) I don't have the soccer loving, grubbing in the dirt kids around anymore so I can't review about how well it does on ground in dirt, and general grunge kids seem to find.

Great machine
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife and I finally purchased an HE washer and couldn't be happier with this machine. Wash time is longer but due to the higher spin speed more water is drawn out of the clothes which means less time in the dryer. It has a large tub and we have filled it up and it cleans it all completely. It is ultra quiet had to walk to the machine to make sure it is working that is how quiet it is. The lid will not slam it is on a hydrolic system. It is very easy to use, as simple as power on and pick your cycle and press start. You can override any of the functions you choose before pressing start (spin speed, soil level, temp etc). It has a place to add bleach, fabric softner, and detergent, you just press start and the machine does the rest. It washes just like a front loader but it is a top load form which means no bending and no need to buy pedestals. We are a family of 5 that washes everyday. This has been a great buy and machine.

It’s efficient
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the matching washer & dryer. I do like all of the features of this washer but a few things that I have noticed is it can be hard for me to reach the clothes when emptying the washer since I’m on the shorter side (5’3”). You have to be careful when loading the machine. It has to be loaded evenly on all sides or the balance will be off. Sometimes it appears there is still detergent left after the washer is done. However, overall I do like this washer!

Awesome Washer!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I must admit I was scared to use this machine because of all the buttons on it. But once you get it and use it, It is so easy and simple to use. I hated washing clothes before and now I do laundry because it isnt a hassle anymore. I turned it on and had to check if it was on because it was so quiet. I love the delay timer on it. I put clothes in before bed and when I wake up in the morning. I just transfer to the dryer. This washer is big enough to wash a king size comforter. I love the song it makes at the end of cycle. I can go on and on about it but if you are in the market for a new washer, this is a great investment. I would recommend it to my friends, my enemies and anyone else who needed a washer.

What a difference
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to wait to review this washer until the "honeymoon" phase was over. I have had it for 2 months now and I am still impressed by it every time I use it. The capacity is huge without the agitator. The array of wash options make it easy to choose the right one for the load. The washer is quiet, efficient and uses significantly less water than my old unit. Best of all, the clothes are much cleaner than my previous washer and also much drier, which saves time and energy when using the (matching) dryer. Got a great deal on the pair, and haven't looked back since.

Best washer I have ever owned.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is by far the best washer I have ever owned. The clothes come out very clean. It uses less water and gives a better clean. After the spin cycle, the clothes feel almost dry which means less time in the dryer which equals less energy used. It is also very quiet. If you imagine an agitator in the middle of the washing drum and load your clothes around that "agitator" just like you would have in your old machine the loads will not be unbalanced and the washer will run through it's cycle without trying to refill and rebalance. I washed a king sized quilt in it and had no problems. I love it and will recommend it to anyone.
