Researched & found that; despite complaints of out-of-warranty rotor, sensor, & suspension issues; LG is still rated as the most reliable washer in CR magazine & at online shopping sites.
Needed to replace an 11-year old LG WT1100CW that was a year out of warranty & having multiple UnEven load issues. So I went for another LG washer & purchased this model WT6100CW.
Purchased from Best Buy and paid for delivery only. The delivery crew was quick, neat, & professional. Installed the washer myself. Have installed multiple washers & dryers over the past 40+ years -- so one level, 3 hoses, and a plug were no challenge.
HOWEVER, the LG Owner Manual [print, pdf, & online] does NOT correctly describe how to run the "Installation Check" test cycle for the WT6100. Tried to follow the directions on page 15 multiple times & nothing happened.
1st, called to LG Customer Service & encountered a customer service rep who politely read to me from another [old & outdated?] manual & told me to go straight to Operation section [page 16] & to select the Normal cycle and add a half amount of the detergent, then start the appliance without clothes.
When I insisted that this solution was not a substitute for the "Installation Check" test cycle & that it might be that the install check firmware had been changed but not documented she politely told me that LG could not send a service tech to verify proper "Installation Check" software operation because the washer was not yet "installed" saying Best Buy did not perform the install. (No BB install, no warranty?)
Using this logic I've never really installed any of my prior washers [Sears, Maytag, & LG WT1100] because I did the install & hook-ups myself. "Lucky" that I never had a warranty issue with any of those appliances.
Eventually after 40 minutes if this polite but useless back & forth I hung up. LG customer service reps need to be better trained & their manuals need to be up-to-date.
2nd, I called Best Buy told them what LG had told me & luckily the BB rep offered to send out a service tech for free to check the unit & reminded me that I could return, replace, or exchange the washer within 15 days of purchase.
3rd, I downloaded the LG ThinQ app & ran that diagnostic which reported everything OK [screenshot attached].
4trh, yesterday I spent an hour online & found a You-Tube video describing a similar "Installation Check" problem with an LG WT7xxx model & finally got my unit to perform "Installation Test". Result = no flashing LEDs = Installation OK.
(Are you confused yet? I am.)
Finally, today I followed the 'Operation - Before Use' instructions on page 16, then ran normal, delicate & speed washes, & re-ran the LG ThinQ diagnostic which again reported everything OK.
Bottom Line = Liked Goldstar/LG appliances [+4 stars], don't like poorly written manuals [-1 star],
& hate LG customer service [-2 stars] = 1 star.
So, now...Do I call & cancel the free BestBuy service visit?
Do I send back an apparently good washer just because there was a firmware change on the washer that was not properly updated in the LG Owner Manual?
Do I avoid wasting anymore time & just keep the thing; gambling that it will last longer than 11 years?
Do I give it 1 star today & then add another star for every five years that it continues to run properly?
More questions than answers.

I love my new washer. A bit complicated right now about load size, etc but I’ll figure it out.
The music it plays when the load is finished washing, is so much better than the loud buzzzzzz.!

If I could I would give it a zero!!
Do not buy this washer! It is the worst washer I have ever owned. It does not clean the clothes! It leaves white nasty stuff on clothing. The clothes come out dirtier than before washing! NASTY!! Look at the photo, this blanket was cleaner when it went in than when it came out. This is how my clothes looks at well! My clothes are getting ruined! I am ready to throw this washer out!! NASTY!!! I am VERY UNSATISFIED!
I HATE this washer!!
Plus it takes forever to do a load!

Hi, Martha. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand how important it is for your LG Washer (WT6100CW) model to clean effectively and leave clothes fresh. One helpful step you can try is running the Tub Clean cycle with liquid bleach to remove any residue buildup inside the drum, as this can cause white deposits on clothing. Also, make sure to use HE (High Efficiency) detergent in the correct amount, since excess detergent can leave residue and extend cycle times. You can find more guidance here: https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-washer-clothing-not-clean-properly--1337626293790. If you need further assistance with your unit, please send us an email at [email protected] so we can support you directly. ^Juvy

Doesnt make it through a complete wash and rinse cycle. When it stops the clothes are completely soaked and still suddy. Have to wash again and then still do another spin cycle to get access water out. Terrible product.

Hi, Jason. Thank you for sharing your experience with your LG Washer (WT6100CW) model. We understand how important it is for your washer to complete cycles properly and leave clothes clean and ready for drying.
A helpful step is to check the load size and detergent amount. Overloading the tub or using too much detergent can cause excess suds, which may interrupt the rinse and spin cycles. Try running a smaller load with HE detergent measured according to the instructions. You can also perform a Tub Clean cycle to clear any buildup that may be affecting performance. More guidance is available here: https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-washing-machine-washer-powered-off-midcycle--20152367439232. I prefer top load washers & this one is amazingly designed with the efficiency of a front loader! It is the best waaher ive had the pleaseye to use yet ! The capacity is amazing, lack of central agitator & the direct drive motor make this washer highly efficient & silent to use. Efficiency of detergent use & exceptional spin out is just the “ icing on the cake “

This LG washing machine is quiet, holds plenty of clothes, and is efficient. I had to check to make sure it was still going it was so quiet. My clothes come out cleaner than ever, and I have a shirt that had bright pink stains all over it. After running it through the normal cycle on cold wash, the shirt came out as good as new. All stains had disappeared. Best purchase I’ve made in a long time.

Had a previous LG washer with all digital display and fancy bells and whistles, all of which we didn't use. The washer's drain pump died after 6 years, which I replaced (actually kind of easy, despite my lack of ability), and then the main board died a year later, so I purchased a new washer 6 weeks ago and installed it myself (super easy - just put in place, attach water lines, drain hose, and plug it in). Got the slimmed-down, larger capacity washer on sale and it doesn't disappoint.
As a note, an independent technician stated he was "impressed" that the previous washer lasted 7 years, which was disappointing to hear. Shouldn't they be expected to last last much longer? Despite this statement and my recent LG washer experience, I decided to chance another, so LG gets another opportunity to do the family right!
Also, BestBuy wanted to charge $70 for delivery and then another $70 for haul-away, and this I think is ridiculous. I disconnected the old washer and used a handtruck to place it at the curb (the city picked it up for free), picked up the new washer from BestBuy on my own, used a handtruck and a family member to bring it into the house, and installed it myself. The hardest part was breaking down the cardboard and protective styrofoam. And I saved myself $140 :)
All that being stated, the new LG washer is performing great, so I don't see any reason not to give it 5 stars. BestBuy in-house customer service was fast and helped me load it into my SUV, so they get 5 stars. The need to charge me $140 for delivery and haul-away would earn 1 star.

"I recently purchased this washer and it has exceeded my expectations. Its capacity is perfect for large loads, saving me time by reducing the number of cycles. Plus, it's very quiet and efficient in both water and energy usage. The different wash programs adapt to all types of clothing, from delicate fabrics to heavy bedding. The modern design and intuitive control panel make it very easy to use. Definitely an excellent purchase that I would recommend to anyone looking for quality and efficiency."

We purchased this washer 6 months ago. I have zero complaints. It does what it’s supposed to do. I love that it’s simple as I don’t need all the bells and whistles. I am able to wash my queen size comforters with no issues. I would recommend.

It runs great and is quiet. It has the same jingle my other LG washer had to let me know it was done. This washer does not have a time indicator to let me know how much longer it would wash like my other LG did. I hope it lasts longer than the 5 1/2 years the other one did. The clothes come out clean. I'm happy with it.

Have had this washer less than a month but so far I love it! This is definitely an upgrade from my whirlpool set. With the impeller, there's so much more room I can wash way more laundry in one load. I like the glass top and being able to see as it's washing and the non slamming lid is a bonus. The dial and buttons are easy to use and I can barely hear the washing machine as it's washing. Everything comes out smelling fresh and clean. I even like the little tune it plays when the cycle is done that I left it on lol. I usually shut them off as they are loud and annoying but this one is not. I have yet to see if my King size comforter fits but after washing a queen size quilt, fitted sheet, pillow case, and two blankets I don't see there being a problem. So far so good all around and I have no complaints.

As a mom managing laundry for five people, I needed a washer that could handle large loads while still being gentle on fabrics. The LG 4.3 Cu. Ft. High-Efficiency Top Load Washer is a game-changer! It tackles everything from heavy bedding to delicate clothes effortlessly.
The SlamProof glass lid and quiet operation mean I can run it late at night without disturbing anyone. Plus, the sleek design adds a modern touch to my laundry room. My favorite feature is its high efficiency—it uses less water and detergent, saving both money and the environment.
If you’re looking for a reliable, powerful, and stylish washer, I highly recommend this LG model. It’s worth every penny!
