    Adequate

The machine gets the job done but if you have pets there are two issues you will deal with on a regular basis. Issue one - keep a roll of paper towels handy as you will need to clean the washer window after every load. Hair accumulates and is left behind after the wash. Also be prepared to clean the rubber seal on the front of the washer as hair will accumulate there as well. That brings us to issue two - beyond the hair, if you use any powder based detergent or additive you will need to ensure it is in the laundry. If you spill any in the rubber lip it will still be there after the wash. Basically, plan on some clean-up after every load. I suppose the turbo wash on the more expensive model takes care of this. Other than that the drum is large which is great and there are plenty of cycles to choose from. The software download is gimmicky. It is quiet. Knowing what I know now I wouldn't buy it.

Didn't matter if your washing a delicate load or a small load of towels the clothes were soaking wet. Couldn't wait to trade out for a different washer

LG washers are real work horses! They hold up well, do a very very good job at getting dirty clothes and lightly soiled delicates clean! They are also capable of washing bulky pillows, comforters, and sweaters.

    Good Washer

I've had this washer for roughly a year. It replaced a top load Samsung that was horribly designed (multiple components broke around the drum and was not replaced by Samsung). The washer has exceeded my expectations. It handles large loads well and cleans efficiently. I perform regular maintenance via bleach cleaning and draining and cleaning the filter once a month. Keeping the door gasket dry and clean is not that difficult. I have enjoyed the LG brand as I refuse to purchase Samsung or Whirlpool ever again due to severely defective products.

    Terrible installation, hot/cold swapped.

LG Washer runs great, the four star review is because of the terrible job the Best Buy installation crew did. When they installed the washer, they hooked hot to the cold water line and vise versa. Only found out a few years later when trying to run just cold water, and it was super hot. Need to make sure their work is checked out by someone, very disappointing.

Really did a great job as a washer in getting the clothes clean and did wonders when we cloth diapered. The different settings were great and we really loved the efficiency. The only complaint we really had was the bottom of the door of the washer constantly leaked.

I recently purchased this washing machine In Wilkes Barre. I was skeptical at first about buying a front loader. It soon became my favorite appliance. It is super easy to use and the clothes come out super clean, Great deal for the price. we recently bought a new home and this was our first major appliance purchase. We definitely will be buying from again. Thank you

    Secrets to a Good Wash

We've had this washer for about 1 year and my wife loves it. I called LG and had them send out a tech, because I thought there was an issue with the water fill. This is what he told me: 1. Don't use the "cotton/Normal" cycle because that's the water saver cycle. 2. When you wash, always chose "extra water" if you feel that you need more water. 3. Don't use "Pods" because they don't completely dissolve due to the minimal water used on any cycle. Use a liquid detergent and only fill to the bottom line in the dispenser. We leave the door open for awhile after using and then adjar on the magnetic catches for a few hours, most of the time. We have had NO musty smell ever. I clean the lint trap, about every 3 or 4 months. We would definitely buy this washer again.

Good Washer. Easy to use, but with front load washers you have to really clean the front so mold does not build up.

I've had this washing machine for over seven years now. We've had to get someone to replace part about a year ago, but it's ran perfectly since then. I highly recommend this product.

    Works OK But Many Flaws

    Posted .

I got this machine because it fits in our space. It washes OK. My biggest issue is that the buttons for extra features, like delay wash or extra rinse, are practically unreadable, there is no contrast with the letters; same for the detergent/bleach compartments. There is power to the buttons but they did not light up the letters. I may have to mark them with a sharpie pen. Otherwise I need to use glasses to see. The cycles are very long and it makes a lot of noise at certain times in the cycle. When using chlorine bleach the clothes smell like chlorine. An extra rinse helps, but they still smell. I have not had the foul odor yet, but wiping down the door and seal each time is a pain. On the old machine I could leave the door open a crack, but that is not possible at my location because the door wants to open wide by itself. It has many cycles, which some may like, but I will only use a few of them.

    Price matching on the accesories.

All the big box stores were offering the same price on the washer and dryer during Black Friday so I could have bought from several stores but they had the best price for 5 year services plans and they price matched on the accessories I needed (hoses, electric cord, stacking kit and dryer vent) that I went with Best Buy. I saved about $30 and the time and hassle of getting the accesories on my own.

    Moldy and smells

I really liked this washer at first, even though the normal cycles take so much longer than my old one (a normal cycle is 1 hour). After having it for about 1.5 years it has mold in the rubber flap all around the door, smells horrible and doesn't get laundry clean. I have tried to clean it, run the clean cycle and wipe out the flap. But without being able to remove the whole flap, it is impossible to clean. It's disgusting. I contacted geek squad and their solution was not to use as much laundry detergent. I tried that but it still collects mold, lint and whatever grime comes out. I also always leave the door open to air out. I wish I could return and get a top loader. :(

When you have a great washer. When my GE front loader died I was so sad. Bought a top loading Samsung and hated it. When it got recalled I jumped at the chance to get another front loading machine. Had never bought LG appliances before. Took a chance and am really happy with it.

The washer works well and has many options for different types of loads and wash settings. You should keep it open between uses to prevent moldy smell.

    Noisy and too much vibration

    Posted .

Actually, I hate this machine. We've had US brand washers in the past and each lasted about 10 years, was quiet and easy to run, no major problems until the final big failure, cleaned well etc. We got this thing solely to match the LG dryer which we bought several years ago because it was on sale or something but my wife wanted a match. Big warning, the delivery guy told us, "Don't run this washer at high speed". Unfortunately, this is the default speed unless you take the time to reset the speed every wash (which people forget to do half the time). The thing spins at such a ridiculously high speed that I anticipate this ill conceived piece of junk only lasting a few years (certainly not 10). Even though we've correctly leveled it, when spinning on high it is annoyingly loud and thumps and vibrates a lot. We have large signs taped all over the machine now to remember to reset the speed to low when putting in a load. Did the engineers ever actually test this thing? Poor engineering, disappointing machine. For amusement, we are placing bets on how long this expensive mistake will last.
