Unacceptable smell despite following recommended procedures. This washer collects dirty wash water in the gasket that seals the door. It cannot be cleaned out with a reasonable effort, and the advice like leaving the door open and spraying the gasket with a cleaner after wiping it out after each use do not work. We've had this washer for several years now and very much regret buying it. Our last front load washer had no problems like this and did not require all the effort this one does to try to even minimize the smell. Leaving the door open is also annoying as it impedes access to the sink, beer fridge and water softner.

The washer does a good job of washing clothes and providing options. The only instructions are less helpful.

I bought this washing machine 1.5 years ago without an extended warranty so I'm out of luck on this one! For a couple of months I have been noticing fuzziness or pilling on my clothes. All different types of clothes. Fast forward at least two months and I am not using this washer any more. All my clothes are ruined. I wish I can upload pics. I thought it was the dryer at first so I stopped the dryer. Then I thought it was detergent so I changed numerous times to EVERYTHING. Then I thought it was my water (maybe too hard). No one in my whole neighborhood or side of town has any water issues (or laundry issues). I am heartbroken. One for the money I spent on this machine less than two years ago. Two for all the clothes that are now ruined (at least two months worth of washing clothes if not more) and three that LG is giving me the run around. First they said they woudld send a guy as a courtesy and now that are retracting that promise (all calls are monitored and recorded, right?). I'm just besides myself and have no idea what to buy at this point because I feel all these websites have biased reviews. I'm here to tell you to stay away from this one. And LG.

On the fritz now. BS actually. Havent had a washer last more than 5 years ever

LG washer completely drained its contents on my third floor, twice. The first time it ruined all the floors on my third floor, ruined drywall in between 3rd and 2nd floor, and ruined ceilings. This was within 17 months of purchase, I called LG to get it fixed which cost another 300.00 (which can be split into three convenient payments). 16 months later it happens again. Once again, just out of warranty. The floors that I had to have replaced, trashed. LG will not have anything to do with helping me fix the machine or my house. Please don't buy any of their products. I will not ever again.

Machine malfunctioned within 8 months of purchase, multiple phone calls, got tech come in after 3 weeks, can't fix it, came in again in another 2 weeks, can't fix. Still waiting for approval to replace the unit after 6 weeks from the first time calling in. I am not going to wait and will replace it by myself. I will look to LG for the reimbursement of the unit purchase price, or will see them in small claims' court. We have 3 small kids and cannot be without a washing machine. We have been using this malfunctioning machine for a while, basically, it is vibrating like a big rock inside when spinning.

Stay away from these LG washing machines. Purchased a washing machine and dryer 3 years ago for $1600. The main computer board on my washing machine just recently went caput and LG has refused to cover any of the repair. Let me say it again.....THREE YEAR OLD MACHINE and the main motherboard goes bad.!!! To top it off the customer support was terrible. If I didn't pursue them they refused to get back to me even after they committed to contacting me. After asking to talk to a supervisor, I received a voicemail from a so-called supervisor saying " we will not cover the repair. Goodbye." Nothing more than that. I hope this review makes people aware of the poor quality of these machines and the poor customer service that you will receive if you purchase an LG washing machine.

Not very durable. Broke down, luckily I bought the geek squad protection and got store credit for it. Will never buy a front loaded washer again. If you don’t dry it out properly every time it builds up bacteria and starts to smell horribly.

Broke after short time. Foul odor after first wash and continued. Called LG and they refused to do anything. I threw it away and bought another brand.

Hate it though it would do my big towels lol not elephants but I have to do twice never again

I had this washer delivered and used it for a couple of days and it worked fine, then it wouldn't completely drain the soapy water or the rinse water. Called LG and they sent a tech (Mr. Electric) couldn't find any reason the machine wouldn't drain (clothes wring- able wet) Best buy sent a new machine and it did the exact same thing. Just ordered a different model and am hoping problem is solved.
