Doesn't clean any better than a cheap machine

I have had high-end (Bosche) and low-end (GE and Sears) washing machines. I put this in the high-end category because of its price, but it is very low end in terms of functionality. Multiple programs, pretty lights, and a catchy jingle are meaningless if the washing machine does not clean clothes. This machine does not do anything more than the most generic washing machine. Case in point, I just washed a white sheet on to which I spilled a mocha (coffee, milk, chocolate). Within 24 hours, the sheet went through the steam wash (a nearly three-hour cycle) with bleach and a good laundry soap, yet the spots are still quite visible. The lower-end machine this one replaced (a GE front load that broke) was able to easily tackle these kinds of stains without any fancy, three-hour steam cycle. I am literally shocked that a simple, organic stain is still present after a steam cycle and bleach. Having spilled my fair share of mochas in the past, I can attest that this one is a simple stain to remove. You have been warned.

My wife and I have had a few washers over the years. They have always been the top load, with the last being a popular brand with the HE detergent. They all had issues with randomly draining the tub, leaving the clothes soaked or leaving the clothes soapy. This one has been fantastic. Its in our living area and unless its on the super wash (turbo wash?) setting, you can't hear the thing. Clothes come out fairly dry, letting the dryer be more efficient, since clothes aren't dripping of water when we load them to be dried. It's a fairly attractive unit as well. Only down side is the LG Washer App. It lets you download custom wash cycles. Would have been nice if it did something useful, like notify you how much time is left or if the cycle is complete.

I had a Samsung that I several problems with and decided to replace it with this LG. No matter what we do this washer's drum bangs loudly when going into a high spin. The unit is balanced and it's not the entire washer that moves, just the internal drum. It also throws the laundry items against the inside of the door causing it to push in and out, also causing a banging sound, and you can literally see the door move open to the point the catch has to keep it closed. And this is on simple, smaller loads. It's practically unbearable when I wash towels. I can't imagine any sort of repair man being able to do anything about the terrible build quality of this unit. Ready to cut my losses, sell online and probably go back to a Samsung. It had issues, but at least I could be in the same room as my washer!

I have had this a few weeks, and it does a good job. The only problem I had was with left over soap suds near the door seal. I have had front loaders before, and have always used HE with no suds left over. A helpful LG support representative told me I am using to much soap. He recommended using less than the amount recommended by the detergent manufacturer if I still had leftover suds at the recommended level. My clothes seem to be coming at clean with little or no left over suds using the reduced amount of detergent. I do wonder if this problem is why the machine offers up to 3 additional rinses on some cycles.

Washes really well. Vibration and noise for a few seconds at the beginning of the spin cycle but only with large loads, which goes away. I assume this is due to uneven loads. The machine needs to be perfectly leveled on solid ground to reduce vibration and noise. Otherwise the noise level is ok...you can watch tv without even knowing the machine is running. The other thing I didn't like that much was the display is not easy to see ...we had to install brighter lights in the washroom which helped a bit. Overall I think its a great machine but does have little room for improvements. I would like to have absolutely no noise regardless of load size...but thats just me being a perfectionist.

This was installed a few weeks ago, so I've only done several loads. Pleased with the performance thus far; superior to my old top loader. On a mixed load of clothes it did well and spun fast. Ditto on a medium sized load of towels. I washed a king size down comforter w/ 5 lbs of down. It filled the drum while dry. Washing went fine, but during the low speed spin cycle the washer and stacked dryer shook quite a bit, although the UE uneven load light didn't come on & the machine finished up the cycle normally. Still it was a concern, but since its rare that something like a large comforter is getting washed I'm not worried.

The lg washer machine look very nice with 14 options. You can do hand wash / wool , delicates , sanitary... i choose lg because it has hand wash / wool option so i can wash cashmeres without shrinking. The machine is very noice, shaking and moving when i wash medium to high speed. I called for service they replace for me the new one but it still moving when i wash high speed. I called again and They just replace the 3rd one. It is not moving but still very noice when i wash bulky/large option. The door is banging. I think lg brand is not too good as they said anti-vibration. I will try it for a few more week then maybe i must choose another brand :(

I researched washers and dryers a great deal before choosing this bundle.I chose LG based on strong reviews across the board for reliability and features. I recommend getting the Sidekick washer or the pedestal unit (with the drawer) to go under the washer. It makes the height of the door just perfect, saving my back from constant bending. My old washer was a top loader with an agitator so I was not sure what to expect with a high efficiency front loader. I am happily surprised at the number of options available and ability to do large bulky items. The cycles take longer than the old machine but I expected that and the machine is so quiet it can run during the night with no problem.

I did a lot of research in store and online before purchasing. I've had this washer for about 3 weeks and I love washing my laundry. Very easy to use and great modern color. So many settings and options with interactive display so I can really get my laundry clean. Steam function and allergy reducer setting with delay in start and a stay fresh option to keep clothes fresh when you can't remove them from the washer right away. Also, quiet as promised. I've washed small loads and large loads and this washer is quiet with both. Some increased vibration during the spin cycle with larger loads, but only at the start of the spin. Timer countdown on display and cute song plays at the end of each cycle, so I know when it's all done. I would highly recommend to others.

Really nice washer and dryer, but in our older home we have run into some issues. Main one being the dryer duct and the flow sense sensor on the dryer. This has come on multiple times already and haven’t even done 10 loads. If installing in older home, may want to check vent condition and length of run. Second has been the washer moving from its position during rinse and spin cycles—may just need leveled out, but a little disconcerting. Overall nice product just needs some tweaking for older home installation.

I PURCHASED THE WASHER/DRYER SET. I am extra biased here because the sum of parts create laundry harmony which by definition means they belong together. Granted I've been using an old quarter vending dryer for the last 2 decades but this LG technology is THE BOMB. It's like putting your clothes in a THE EYE OF A HURRICANE, sooo much water spinning faster than the eye can track. Best part is that the machine plays you a nice little song when it's done not like those machines of yore that would bleed your ears with a horrible buzzing. DON'T FORGET THE DRYER OR IT WILL BE LONELY :(

We've had the new washer, dryer and sidekick for about 2 weeks now and we love them. They are much quieter than our old ones and the clothes are washed and dried much faster and look and feel better. Being on the pedestals reduces the bending over when loading and unloading. Installed them myself. They are very heavy! I ended up putting small sliders under each foot so I could move them - works great! Impossible to move them without the sliders. Highly recommend you do the same because you will eventually have to move them. When you arrange for delivery make sure they will take them out of the box and put both the washer and dryer on their pedestals. Like I said earlier, they are very heavy.

When we bought our house we decided to finally update our washer and dryer. I was excited to get front loaders and we were looking for something very quiet. This fits the bill! We have owned these (this washer and the dryer) for 2 years and it's still amazing. We sleep with king size coverlets/coverlets and it easily washes everything perfectly. There is a lot of space inside and I also love the custom program setting. I'm so happy we went with LG and that the salesman helped us pick these! They are so quiet I can leave the laundry door open and not hear it when I'm in the kitchen - which is right next to the laundry room. I highly recommend LG for washers and dryers. :D

I have owned an LG washer for 14 years but finally it needed repair and it was time to trade up. So I bought this washer for a great price from Best Buy and found out that LG washers had really developed over the years. All of the new functions like Turbo wash, Alergiene, Steam fresh care and Bright whites were welcome additions, but the basics of the machine were still the very dependable, quiet machine I was used to. The new black finish which doesn't show prints is really nice looking. I look forward to the same year in and year out dependability I have been used to in LG products.

My old front loader, a Kenmore Elite was still working good but I couldn't get the odor under control. This LG is a great machine. Gets cloth clean and has so many various cycles to choose from. Draw back compared to my old front loader- it is noisier, uses more water and does not fluff cloth at the end of some cycles i.e Cotton. However it does in delicate cycles. I run a cleaning cycle once a month and wipe the machine after I am done with laundry for the day.

I have had an lg washer and dryer for years 11 to be exact , unfortunately my washer recently died so I bought this washer. I can't tell you how much I love it. Boy have these washers come a long way in 11 years. The turbo wash speeds things up but also adds soap and more power to wash water and the 6 motion technology is amazing. My clothes have never been cleaner. The black stainless steal is not only beautiful but cleans up nicely no fingerprints or streaks. Can't say enough about this machine. The salesman at Best Buy searched for a deal for me and got me the best price possible. The delivery man was so nice and helpful. Got to say buy this machine and from Best Buy

Washer is awesome! I like the led light inside. One pro is it cleans well on cold water setting. Only con is some of the wash cycles are way to long. Can be up to 2 hours. Another pro is the perm pres setting for a quick 15 min or so wash. I use that if I need to wash only a couple of items. Overall this is a great washer for the 3 months I’ve owned it. Will update durability after owning for a year.

    1) Enough capacity to wash about 5 bath rugs nicely 2) very quiet, make sure though ...that it is installed correctly on the pedestal washer or drawer. 3) “end of cycle” signal chime can be turned off, if doing laundry at night or when people are resting. 4) longer wash cycles than my old kenmore elite. 5) clothes come out nicely wrung out 6)Washer door either swings Wide open (or )can be left open in a Slit .. not half way. I always leave it wide open to aerate: Advantage: dry, no smell at all. Disadvantage: difficult to move in my light laundry room with a widely open door.

This washer had very good ratings from Consumer Reports and on Best Buy's website. It has a lot choices/settings and so therefore versatile however the clothes don't dry nearly as well as my previous Frigidaire. It might be energy efficient in regards to water however they take longer to dry. However I read other reports and it doesn't seem to be a big deal. I do like LG products and this one was closest matching my dryer. I don't know if it's the washer but my clothes don't smell as clean even though I haven't changed any laundry detergents. It is spacier (4.5 cu ft) compated to 4.3 cu ft which makes a lot difference in size.

The only reason for the one star is due to the loud noise this makes as it spins and shakes a lot. I was assured that the pedestal it was on had nothing to do with it. I had to exchange it within the first week of having it. When the second washer came in it was still shaking a lot in the spin cycle that it would move from it’s original position. Let me make it clear that they were leveled by the installer when they were delivered. It does wash well. It is unfortunate that I had to return them as I had heard LG was a good brand.
