This review is of the product and not Best Buy's service and customer care. I had a miserable time working with Best Buy to get my GE Washtower delivered and installed. I have had this unit for about a month and I absolutely love it! I was looking for a stackable set and chose this one because the controls for both devices are located in the middle of the two. Both are easy to use, quiet and large enough to wash two sets of queen sheets and more. I love that I have more room in my tiny utility room. I chose the black steel color which is sleek and modern looking. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Great washer and dryer. I love how compact it is. Yet huge tubs for large loads. This is the third wash tower I have boughten for rentals and personal use. Great washer. I love having a light inside the drums. I also love being able to set my ‘go to’ settings for the kids. Kids learned the buttons to push and can do their own laundry. Win win win

They were very knowledgeable about the product and guided me in choosing something that perfectly suited my needs. The environment around the appliance area was very friendly and attentive. This set is very easy to use and provides perfect and fast washing and drying. Thanks again!

The capacity and the variety washer/dryer combo cycles are off the charts. This stackable combo is also a space saver for small areas. Also meets all your laundry needs. A good value!
Love the unit, but your utilites need to be close!

This stackable LG washer and dryer are fantastic. We've had it for two months now. It's fast, efficient, quiet, and the apple red color is eye-popping!
We highly recommend this, with one caveat... The pre-installation instructions *failed* to mention that the unit requires to be within 4 feet maximum from all of the utilities, namely the water lines, the gas line, the electric wall plug, and to some extent, the dryer duct work. Since we originally wanted to place it to the right of the utilities, we were forced to move it the left in order to reach the utilities. There was a built-in shelf in the way, so the Best Buy installers could not complete the job. They could come back in 10 days to complete it, so after I removed the shelf, I installed the LG init myself. This runaround was an unexpected and unpleasant result of Best Buy not being clear about the pre-installation requirements.
I would recommend this to a friend

I would have given it a 5 star if it was more easy to get it in to our house. Haveing a stacked washer n dryer this one is smaller but bigger on the washer side. I love that the control panels are in the middle witch is great for my younger kids that help with laundry. I had this unit for about 2 weeks now n settings are the same for most part as my las lg washer n dryer. Touch screen is great no turn dial, kid lock. Very quiet. Turbo wash love it. Easy to use. Easy set up well had to buy a Y hose cold line the adapter they send did not really work for me i got a hose that is shaped as a y used for washing machings. Easy to find in the section where bathrom n washeing hoses are. But so far am happy with it wife loves it.

I recently upgraded my laundry room with the LG 4.5 Cu. Ft. HE Smart Front Load Washer and 7.4 Cu. Ft. Gas Dryer WashTower in sleek Black Steel, and I couldn't be more delighted with my purchase. This dynamic duo has truly transformed my laundry routine, making it more efficient and convenient than ever before.
First and foremost, the performance of both the washer and dryer is exceptional. The washer's 4.5 cubic feet capacity is perfect for handling large loads, effectively cleaning even the toughest stains with its high-efficiency technology. The gas dryer, with its 7.4 cubic feet capacity, dries clothes quickly and evenly, saving both time and energy. The addition of steam functionality in both appliances ensures that my clothes come out not just clean and dry but also refreshingly wrinkle-free.
What sets this WashTower apart from others on the market is its built-in intelligence and smart features. With LG's innovative technology, I can control and monitor my laundry from anywhere using the SmartThinQ app on my smartphone. This has been a game-changer, allowing me to start or pause cycles, receive notifications when laundry is done, and even troubleshoot any issues remotely. The built-in intelligence also ensures optimal washing and drying settings based on the fabric type and soil level, taking the guesswork out of laundry care.
Aside from its impressive performance and smart capabilities, the LG WashTower is also beautifully designed. The Black Steel finish adds a touch of elegance to my laundry room, while the streamlined design of the WashTower saves valuable space without compromising on capacity or functionality.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend the LG 4.5 Cu. Ft. HE Smart Front Load Washer and 7.4 Cu. Ft. Gas Dryer WashTower to anyone in search of a top-of-the-line laundry solution. Its superior performance, smart features, and stylish design make it a worthwhile investment that simplifies and enhances the laundry experience.

Would highly recommended for narrow, small spaces. Reasonably priced, washes to perfect and as an extra bonus energy efficient, so eligible for a CA rebate.

Extremely awesome combo set of washer and dryer. It is very quiet and it does a great job of washing clothes, blankets and somewhat heavy items. Definitely recommend buying this to save space. Has been running extremely well for a couple of months now.

I love how easy this front loading washer and dryer is and that the button panel control is in the middle of the unit - so much easier to use. It operates fairly quietly and chimes when its cycle is done. Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase.

I like the Built-In Intelligence and my clothes always come out perfectly dried; The central control panel is intuitive. I consider both the washer and dryer operate quietly. Would recommend this to anyone!

We upgraded from a wash tower unit with an agitator which we used for years, so having a front loading HE unit was going to feel pretty luxurious no matter what. After a month of steady use, I’m happy to say it was well worth the money. Cleans like a dream— we go through a lot of cloth diapers for our baby, and they look like new each time. The dryer (gas version) does a great job of sensing the dampness level.
The control panel took a little while to figure out, but once I read the manual it became very intuitive.
Would totally recommend, especially if on sale.

I never would have guessed that I would have been looking forward to getting a major appliance, But our ten year old stacked washer and dryer needed replacement. In then years it seems that all the machines have gotten taller, and the first thing that appealed to me was the fact that the controls for both the washer and dryer are located midway from floor to ceiling...not so much for me, as I'm 6'2, but my wife is only 5'2. Reaching the top of the dryer (stacked on top of the washer) with a conventional stack would have been a huge issue for her, so this was ideal. The capacities of both the washer and dryer are plenty generous, too.
The machines are exceedingly quiet, too, and seem to have many functions.
My issues with the machine: Lack of user friendliness. The machines were clearly developed without the benefit of input from users. Some engineer, cloistered in an office, who never does laundry must have been the developer of the user interface. Completely counter-intuitive.
For example, t took 3 hours of calls to LG's "customer service line" (advertised as 24/7/365, but only open part of the day) to figure out how to use a "custom" program (i.e., where a user can select the duration and temperature). It's not shown in the manual. Instead the tell you to use the app. Except, the app is impossible to use unless you have a 2.4Ghz router. Most of the features of the machine are locked away in an app that is inaccessible unless you have the technical capability to switch your router from 5Ghz to 2.4Ghz, which completely messes with the speed of any user's home network. I can't even access the app. I am reasonably technical, and this has me completely stumped. And a call to LG sends you to some far-off country speaking to a very nice customer service agent who is entirely clueless about the machine. They offered zero help in accessing the app or using the control panel. I only figured out how to set a "custom" (which isn't even custom...you have to choose minutes by 10's) cycle by serendipity; the agent had no idea.
Bottom line: The tower does a nice competent job, but I'm only keeping it because of the convenience of the controls. You can't depend on LG's customer service department to help whatsoever, so if you are at all intimidated by technology or get frustrated when things don't "just work," stay away from this machine.

The future of stacked washer/dryers

So far it's been fine. I had my last stackable for 30 years. (repaired it many times) So i'm still getting used to a front loader. Also still getting used to how water level, wash times and load sizes are now automated. It needs a longer cycle than the default cycle to get my clothes as clean as my old machine with an agitator in the tub did. But it is a lot gentler on my clothes. They should last longer now. It also uses less water and energy. And doesn't take that much longer than my old machine. Maybe about a 10 minute difference. I'm not an expert but that might be common in comparison to top loaders.
When i first saw the machine i thought that the pull out door for the soap doesn't seem all that sturdy. But when doing laundry i don't really see it as an issue.
Also when doing laundry i have to kneel down and then stand up to move the clothes from one tub to the other. Not an issue for me, or my arthritis. But thought i would mention it. I assume any front loader would be similar. Even with separate washer and dryers
All in all i really like the layout. Build quality seems leaps and bounds better than the old school one piece stackables. I used to think knobs were more reliable and easier to repair than buttons. Then in my search for a machine i discovered that knobs are now attached to the same computer boards as buttons. The front panel on this is very sturdy. Much better than knobs. I also like that the buttons are in the middle of the machine instead of the top.
I have steam hooked up for the dryer which keeps clothes from coming out too wrinkled. Can't get that function in an old school stackable. Can't get any wi-fi programability either. It also does much larger loads. So for me, this is worth the money. It is the best option at the best price for the space i have.
If you need a stackable because of space and this would be your primary machine then i highly recommend it. It is worth the extra cost over other stackables.
Maybe not as many metal parts in it as something like a speed queen. But it's also a lot more affordable. And still very sturdy. The motor is guaranteed for 10 years, And with a speed queen stackable if you're under 5' 8" you're going to need a stool to make sure you got all of your clothes out of the dryer. Very strange layout.
There are other boutique machines that are supposed to be very reliable. But when i researched what they offer i find that they just don't seem cost effective. Things like ridiculously small tubs and no one but their own people know how to fix them. When i looked at old school stacked washer/dryers they seem like toys in comparison. Most of them were already falling apart on the showroom floor.
