    Finally a new washer

Really cleans clothes. I haven't had the machine long and haven't used it that much as there are only two in my household. That being said I washed a disgusting pair of work sox and a hat that had been living in the garage and both came out clean, much cleaner than my old machine. Clothes spin dry much dryer than the old washer so less drying time is needed. Only downside is that a load takes about an hour while my old machine was only half as long to do a load. Actually only a minor inconvenience.

    Too Much Maintenance

After looking into washers and dryers or a month or two I decided to get this LG pair during the Labor Day sale. After using Top Loads my whole life, I figured I’d give this front load a try despite everyone saying not too. Clean wise and aesthetic wise this washer is a beast. It really is great. I love the multiple washer options and the WiFi capability is a nice touch as well. I get alerts on my LG TV that a cycle is done, as well as on my iPhone/ Apple Watch. (Pretty sure it works for Android as well) I can also delay a wash or change cycles on the app as well. The downside to this is that I have to MANUALLY press the remote feature each time on the washer to do this. I wish it would just let you control without having to do so because that’s a hassle. If I have to press the button on the machine I might as well delay the washer manually too (which you can do). My main problem is the maintenance though. Front Load washing machines are like babies, too much catering needs for it. After I’m done washing my loads, I have to wipe down the inside glass, wipe around the seal to get the water up, keep the door open so it won’t have mildew build up and stink. And if you have like a closet laundry room like me for the moment, keeping the door open on the washer isn’t as ideal because you won’t be able to close the laundry door. (Can be fives if you’re able to push washer closer to the wall and leave it a little cracked open). Other than the high maintenance on the front load units, this is great. Next time, I’ll go back to the old-school-trusty-dusty-top-load. (With the new-school features of course :) ) Btw. The ease of use can vary by person. The machine is easy to use (I mean it a washing machine). But it does have a lot of different cycles and multiple options with the cycles that it can be confusing on which one is the better choice. If you want the regular normal, delicate, white options, it’s there. But if you’re like me & want to try all the other cycles to take advantage of this washer, well you might need the manual book. Downside to that, you’re gonna have to scan the QR code on the manual with your phone to get the whole manual because it’s not in the physical booklet, which was a downside to me.

Big improvement since 2013 LG model

So little vibration & noise, especially compared to our 2013 LG steam washer. Hope this one is more reliable, but we bought the Geek Squad extended warranty anyway. Currently Consumer Reports' best rated front loading washers are all LG. It's great getting iPhone/Watch alerts when a load is finished, but I wish I had the option to limit those alerts to when I'm home and on my Wifi. Otherwise, it's a distraction when I'm 300 miles away and get an alert that someone at home has clean laundry to unload.

We got washer 1 and it immediately was wobbling all over with more than a few items in it. I called and Bb sent their guys out to investigate . They literally slapped a level on it and, after noting it was level, concluded the drum was bad. So they brought out a brand new washer 2 a couple weeks later. After a month, I can say it works great, so maybe it was the drum? BB was great, and the washer does a good job and is very quiet (now), soultimately id recommend it. If u get one and it’s noisy, call and complain and ask 4 a new one. The matching dryer is another issue - which I’ll reserve for that review.

I love this washer, actually bought for as a gift. I have used it, it works great, quiet (as quiet as a washer can be) but not overwhelmingly loud. I have done a few loads and felt it did a good job cleaning. One feature I really like is after wash is done, the door will stay open a couple of inches to allow for air drying of interior. You can easily close door, but I really like the "just open" feature. I like this washer enough that I will most likely buy one when my current washer stops working.

This machine far out does my old machine, which was a top load whirlpool. I switched to a front load after my old one gave out after 10 years. I wanted a front load knowing it would gentler on my clothes ad use less water. I had little choice then to go with LG, as the depth of my space won't allow me to purchase any other front load brand. Overall I am happy with this washer. It gets my clothes ultra clean and is gentler on them. Those who say this machine is quiet though, I'd love to know where the machine is. Mine is on my second floor and it is not quiet. I get a little vibration and you can hear the machine in most of the cycles but especially on the high spin ones. I suspect that those who say this is a quiet machine or they can't hear it have the machine in the basement or main floor. It is not horrible and I know much of the cause of the noise is because it is on the second floor. So yes after 2 weeks of having this machine I am overall happy with it.

I really like the performance of the washer. The only draw back is the control display. The wording is written under a black glass cover that makes reading the display very difficult unless the washer is in very bright light such as in a store display. I need to shine a flashlight at the display to clearly read the controls and the light in my laundry room is fairly bright. Had I known that this would be a problem, I would have gladly paid more for the next higher level washer that has a different display. As previously stated, the performance of the washer is great. Just an issue with the display.

This is my first LG appliance. Although I've owned it for a very short time, I am impressed. I still have to try the WiFi programs but those that are included on the machine cover as many cycle options as I would need. I noticed items feel more wet than my old machine when I pull them out, but I'm convinced it's because this machine uses more water. The spin cycle vibrates, but at a level that is acceptable, and it's not very loud. Clothes, towels, and linens feel super clean. The display panel could be a little easier to read but not a deal breaker for me. The end-of-cycle chime is loud enough that I can hear it a floor away. My prior washer, unbeknownst to me, ended up with black mold and yellow detergent/sediment build-up along the water path behind the detergent tray. It was so far back, you could not access to get it clean. The detergent tray was also impossible to get clean. The LG detergent tray can be taken apart and dried completely. In addition, the area the water travels behind the tray is short and can be easily dried, which I do religiously, along with the seal, when I'm done with laundry for the day. Had I known LG would have a sale so soon after my purchase, I would have sprung for the model with turbo clean. We shall see if this machine can withstand the test of time, but I'm really happy with it as of today.

Had an older LG model for 10 years and it worked great until seal started leaking so I opted to buy this model. It's capacity is great, fits king size comforter, runs quieter than the previous model. The other reviews about reading the panel are true. Other than that, this is a very nice machine and I am pleased with the purchase.

This is my first front load I was skeptical but I did a little research and decided on this one. It is very quiet if balanced properly. The settings are easy to figure out and wifi wasn't to hard to connect. The app is great for me and especially my kids who forget to get their stuff out of the wash. It even can connect to my echo and alexa will tell you how much time is left in the cycle it's been a couple of months now and no issues.

comparing this to my older model, this is higher priced. the wifi connectivity option is a very nice gimmick. at first its cool to use but doesnt really become useful, example, you load your cloths in, then set the remote option and go to your phone to finish the settings; being notified through my phone is nice that the laundry is done, but setting remote isnt necessary for this feature to be turned on, also not really worth the added cost since its not really multi user as in the washer and app dont know whos laundry is being washed and will just notify whoever has the app setup on their phone. imo too expensive, i should have gone with the ~$500 ish option. but it is way way quieter than my old washer and i wanted to check out how useful the network features are.

I like this machine. I like the selections for light washes. I do not like the dark display panel. It is difficult to see the wash, water, fabric selections etc. I set of the wi-fi capabilities but am not sure I will ever use them. I am disappointed that there is no comprehensive manual. I’ve spoken to LG twice and they have sent additional electronic data but the information is still incomplete...for example length of wash cycle and benefits of steam cleaning.
