    Very nice front-loading washer

We purchased this washer (together with the matching dryer) to replace our old washer/dryer combo (10+ years old). We never used a front-loading washer but decided to give it a try. This washer is very quiet, efficient, and versatile with different modes. The difference in water efficiency between old and new washer is night and day. The permanent press cycle (both washer and dryer) works excellent for dress shirts. This is neither the cheapest nor luxurious model from LG. It seems to be a very good option for anyone who are seeking for a balance between price and quality.

Happy with new LG front load washer

I bought this despite family members throwing hate at front load washers. My 18 year old top loading Whirlpool washer and dryer were going to outlive me and I wanted new. The LG models won due to high user satisfaction. What I mostly notice after the change is the increased capacity, reduced water usage, and reduced detergent usage. It's very easy to wipe down the gasket when finished and I dry out the soap area too. The door remains just slightly propped open (if you want) and is held there magnetically. Clothes come out clean, there is no noticeable difference from my old agitator machine. The wireless app is novel silliness and for me there was no need to spend any additional money on a pedestal.

I got tired of my top loader washing machine, rated as a water conservation device (it basically did a poor job of cleaning my clothes, and often times damaged by thin work out shirts), so I found this at the Best Buy store in Honolulu. It was an open box demo, so I got it a little cheaper than normal. Thus far I have loved this thing. its' high tech, cleans my clothes very quickly, has a separate cycle for towels, bedding, and whites. And it conserves water without damaging my thin, delicate clothes. Love it.

Not impressed with so-called high efficiency technology. I have had this machine for over a year. I had no desire to have a 'smart' machine so never hooked up the wireless. The washer itself does not work as well as the 15 year old LG it replaced. It does not have a hand wash cycle, but does include the ability to wash without spinning, or to run a short rinse and spin cycle. It has a 'turbo' wash function, for which I cannot find a definition anywhere. The only thing I have noticed is that it shortens the cycle and the clothes don't seem to get as clean. It can be disabled for some cycles, but not for others. I have problems using powdered detergent as it doesn't dissolve well - even in warm water. There's just not enough water in the tub. There is also not enough to use it to soak clothing prior to washing - I now have to do that outside the washer. The wash cycle for delicate clothing is much rougher than before, so I cannot wash underwire bras or some sweaters and now have to do them by hand. I find that things do not smell clean unless I run a pre-wash, then multiple rinses are required to remove the detergent. I suspect I am using more water than before because of these additional cycles. The compartment for adding detergent and bleach/softener is poorly designed in my estimation. There is a piece that actually has to be removed to use powdered detergent, and the pre-wash section lets liquid detergent leak all over prior to starting the machine. It is not all washed away when the machine starts, either - I had to remove the compartment and clean the sticky soap residue both times I tried it. So I have gone to placing the detergent directly in the drum. The construction of the compartment also causes it to hold a lot of water, so I have to leave it open until it dries to prevent mold. The controls themselves, where selections are made for the wash cycle, also leave something to be desired. There is faint writing on the inside of the plastic, which is then backlit from inside, making it very difficult to read, especially as my basement is not well lit. It's good enough to not send back, but nothing to write home about. The instruction manual tells you to lie clothing flat in the drum and stack it. Since when is that needed?? In my prior machine I could just stuff it full and it worked. With the new one, if I fill it to capacity, or just wad clothes up and toss them in, nothing gets clean. I will likely look at other brands when it comes time for a new one if this one is not completely redesigned by then. So longer wash time, smaller (more) loads and not necessarily as clean when compared with the old one. I c

Super nice, very intuitive, and easy to use. It’s also really cool that you can connect to the WiFi and the app lets you know the wash cycle is over.

    Pros And Cons

Pros; We love the look of the LG. Easy to use. Works great as intended, only to a point however Quiet while running Cons (we purchased this model previously); What we found that was disappointing; - the boot developed a couple of holes due to rubbing in three locations. Need something to protect the boot from moving component. - the stabilizer (shocks) that keep the tub from moving around too much were worn to where they needed to be replaced. Need higher quality (not plastic) component. As it was going to be nearly the same cost for repairs we chose to purchase another washer so we did not have to purchase another dryer as well. Unfortunately I have found that most manufacturers produce a lower quality product than they have in the past. Not meant to last.

I changed from top loader to front loader, that’s a huge shift for me. This one has lots of room so reduced my no.of cycles. AI sensing technology decides how much time required for each load. Impressed with this piece of machine… Happy with my purchase and will choose LG for other home goods in future!!!

I owned the washer and dryer pair for a week or so. I had to return it because it was too big for my space, too low for me (I’m 5’9) and not ideal for a home with a tiny human who likes to spin knobs. I did like the look of the washer and the different cycles. Just wasn’t ideal for me and my family. I did not like the fact that I needed to buy another piece to the washer and dryer set to make it taller to accommodate my height. And each piece was $250. Not okay! Especially when the average height of a person is between 5’4 and 5’9. I don’t understand why they cannot build a set that accommodates tall people.
