Top five biggest mistakes of my adult life
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wish I could give it 0 stars. Absolutely the worst purchase I have ever made. Would you like to experience life as an early 20th century washer woman, walk around in dirty clothes you have put through a wash more than once, waste tons of water and watch your electric bill soar even higher? Then this is the washer for you! Doesn't clean clothes so much as wet them and swish them back and forth in place. You can put something in there folded up and it will come out folded. Stains on your clothes. You'll be scrubbing them out by hand and adding extra water and an extra rinse so the soap gets out, especially deodorant or not only will it not remove it, it will transfer it to other parts of the shirt or even other clothing. I am now stuck with this purchase of close to $3000 dollars (bought the dryer as well, see my other review) with tax, installation and service plan until I can afford to replace it. It get to debate which is more costly and time consuming, using these two large hunks of junk at home or going to a laundry mat. For large loads and items, i choose the laundry mat so that i can cut laundry down to one day instead of two. As a side note, if you are under 5'5" or 5'6" you'll be standing on a stool and turning yourslef upside down to get clothes from the bottom.

LG for the win!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The washer and dryer set are amazing! Smart sense is great because it spins the load to balance and see how much water will be needed and often cuts the time down. This saves on water and energy usage.

Junk
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a year old and we run the clean cycle every two-3 three weeks. It smells. Took it apart and it's covered in mildew. Dirt gets in between the metal and plastic on the agitator plate. Had to have a part replaced two months after we purchased it because of load grinding noise!

LG washer - 5.3
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This washer has much more capacity than it appears to have. It’s very easy to use and it’s quiet! It does not have the center agitator which I was leary about but now that I’ve used it multiple times I don’t miss the agitator! Very happy with this purchase!! *** If you decide to go gas, make sure you consult first with a plumber or the gas company before you schedule delivery!!! When Best Buy arrived to deliver mine they wouldn’t install it because they said the line/valve was too old!! Very annoying to have to waste a Saturday and not have the thing installed!! Learn from my mistake and have it checked!! Second time around I went electric and had no problems with installation.

You'll Love It or Hate It
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think this washing machine is great! It's easy to use and does a great job cleaning my clothes. It doesn't have an agitator, so their is more space for laundry. I purchased an LG brand due to Consumer Reports saying that they were less prone to needing repairs. Yes, clothes need to be peeled off the sides at the end of the wash cycle, but that's what one would expect with a HE washing machine. Yes, if you don't select the water plus option, there won't be a lot of water available for washing your load. The machine doesn't seem to walk during the spin cycles, but I haven't tried using the high spin setting yet. The only weird thing about the machine is having to separate the load by weight of each individual item and then lay them in the tub in a certain pattern. I'm sure it's something I'll get used to. Overall, my wife and I have been using this washing machine for about 3 weeks now, and we love it. We are extremely happy with our purchase.

FANTASTIC WASHER!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.BEST WASHING MACHINE!! ( I've had several over my 60+ years) SO HAPPY I purchased an LG. After having a horrible experience with Samsung products I did a lot of research and decided on the LG brand. Wow! It's beautiful, quiet, easy to operate, and best of all it has a deep water wash cycle so you can actually get a super good cleaning if you desire of things like towels, personal items, etc. The efficiency of low water washing is great, but it's really awesome to be able to have a deep water wash available. I LOVE THIS MACHINE! Seriously!! You will too!

works great
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had bought a different brand that I had to return so I was so happy when this one worked so well. The features have all I need, it’s user friendly, works just as it should, clothes are clean not tangled. I don’t have to place them any certain way. It’s quiet. Love the window. Blankets and bedding fit and are clean. Clothes feel softer somehow. For my small family, it’s perfect.

I'll never own a front loader ever again!
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My favorite washing machine to date! Large capacity, super quiet. I love the self diagnostic feature, which I hope to never have to use. But I checked and it works. The tub cleaning option is great. I get the Oxi-clean from Amazon and do it once a month. Fresh smelling machine always. The only thing I can complain about is that it doesn't have a just spin cycle. Easy to use, highly recommended!

Washer CLEANS clothes VERY well!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While it's only been a month, I am extremely happy with the results. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a new washer based on the following comments: 1. CLEANS clothes, EXTREMELY WELL (no issues thus far w/water not covering clothes completely, works great!!!) 2. VERY quiet (hardly notice its running) 3. Cycle times are reasonable & not excessively long 4. Easy to use (didn't want to pay for excess features) 5. Uses less detergent compared to our prior standard model 6. Price was right This is our first HE washer so I was skeptical of some comments about not enough water actually soaking the clothes, therefore not cleaning well - this has NOT been an issue for me at all! If anything, I am VERY impressed at how well it does clean the clothes. Also, the panel not being back-lit, making it harder to see the functions has NOT been an issue either, although we do have a lot of light in our laundry room. Good purchase for us!

The HE Clothes Washer to Buy
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's been almost a month since purchase and I'm ready to write a valid review. It's important to note just because a washer is labeled "HE" does not mean it's both energy and water efficient. My dad bought a different brand of HE washer (and not at Best Buy) but it had terrible water efficiency. So while the electricity costs were low, water costs were high. Did some checking around and this LG HE washer really is electricity and water efficient and washes much better too. One thing I hated about the prior HE washer was it did not come with a detergent and softener dispensers, only one for bleach. The LG has dispensers for all three. Pull out a drawer and there's a bin for softener and another bin for detergent. What's better is water passes through those bins depending if it's wash (detergent) or rinse (softener) so it looks like a mini waterfall. You can use powered detergents or softeners, just make sure they're HE versions. The liquid bleach dispenser works like prior washing machines owned but I don't use bleach that often. Note I don't like or use detergent pods so I can't judge. About washing, I've washed a variety of things in the LG like clothing (whites, light colored, dark colored), towels, table cloths, bedding, even washable incontinence mats. Having washed a variety of thing at a variety of water temps (cold, warm, hot), loads sizes, and soil types (from no soil B.O. to the very unpleasant) I can say it does an excellent job. I learned long ago the importance of sorting, knowing what wash temp, what cleaners to use when, and load size (why I don't use pods). The LG allows users to set water temp, how much to spin, and how much to agitate based on how soiled. It also has settings for those times when you want more water or let soak or additional rinse. Based on all I've washed I love all the setting options to get articles clean to my standards. All these options can look intimidating but if you know how to wash then you'll love having them too. There are a few things you have to get used to following purchase. After you remove all the washed clothing and won't wash another load immediately it's recommended to leave the washer lid open. Also pull open the drawer where the detergent and softener are to let it dry out too. The drawer can be popped out and you can shake out any water left. If you have a cabinet mounted above your current washer like I do, make sure you have about 5 ft between the floor and the cabinet to keep the lid open when the LG washer is not in use. Kudos to Best Buy staff for delivering this to my home and following physical distancing and safety protocols in the midst of the pandemic.

Great washer if you just need the basics
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wash cycles have not been overly long, clothes come out clean, simply to use, no weird smells. Experienced an out of balance load once and it was an easy fix (simply rearrange clothes) washer continued where it stopped. The only complaint I have is that water hangs out in the soap/softener dispenser and there is no way to take out the whole tray and dry it. I worry about bacterial growth in the dispenser if the washer sits idle for days. I do leave the top open but have also started leaving the dispenser pulled out as well which has helped some of the remaining water evaporate. Otherwise, I am very happy with my purchase. Too soon to tell how well it will hold up over time but I am confident in the LG brand.

First HE washer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first HE washer and there is a bit of a learning curve. I have seen reviews posted of problems with HE washers unbalancing loads easily. So far I have not had this problem. All you have to do is read the instructions for the proper way to load the machine and you shouldn't have any problems. The cycles do tend to run a little longer but if I'm using a lot less water, the loads are getting cleaner and the loads are being treated more gently which will make them last longer I can take a little more time for laundry. The capacity is a good size, I was able to easily get in a queen size sheet set with heavy comforter and had no problems with overloading or balance. So far I am very pleased with this purchase.

Nice washer, but some design annoyances
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This washer works well where it counts: It seems to get the clothes clean, is fairly quiet, and the cycle times are reasonable. So, overall it was a good purchase, especially on sale. However, there are some design flaws that are somewhat annoying. (1) The printed text labeling on the control panel display is *very* dim, making it hard to read against the black background. This is made much worse when adjusting temp, etc., because the indicator lights on that panel are *really* bright -- it is very difficult to make out the text when they're lit. (2) When you first turn the washer on, *all* the lights around the circumference of cycle-select dial are lit, requiring you to turn the knob in order to pick a cycle. If the cycle you wanted was the one it happened to be on, you have to turn the knob *back* to that cycle. (You couldn't have known what cycle it was on because all the lights were lit. Why did they do that?) (3) You're supposed to run a freshening cycle (our old washer labeled it the "Affresh" cycle) every 30 days. But there's no indicator light to tell you when that time is up. You're expected to write the date down or otherwise remember it on your own. (4) The little detergent drawer seems very flimsy, for something that's going to get pulled out and pushed back in 100s of times a year. Also, they make a big deal about airing out the washer drum after washing, but the drawer holds quite a bit of water after each cycle, requiring you to remove it and dump it in the drum or sink, if you want it to be empty.

Great washer for a small price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This washer is highly recommended in several reviews and for the price, it's worth it. Big stainless steel tub, quiet and high efficiency are some of the qualities. I do wish it could spin more water out of the clothes.
