Secondly, when I looked in the tub during a load of wash, I was really surprised how little water was added to the wash cycle. Didn't even cover the clothes. I am now pushing the "deep wash" button for every load.

Problems after less than 2 years

I am very disappointed in the quality of the product. First, the washer often gets stuck in an eternal cycle trying to wash bedding. It has a feature that is supposed to add more water to "rebalance" the load. However, this often does not work and I have seen the washer continue to try to add water, rinse, become off balanced, add water, rinse, become off balanced. It could run for hours in this cycle. To resolve the issue, I have to "babysit" the washer when it washes bedding and stop it before it tries to use the rebalancing feature. I have followed all the instructions in the manual and still had this problem. Additionally, for the last six months the dial will not respond when turning it to select a cycle. This means you can't start a load of laundry. I called LG asking if they would send a technician out to fix it. They said it is not covered under warranty as the warranty is only good for a year. They said it would cost me $400 to have a repairman look at it. I paid $700 for the washer two years ago. The repair cost is 57% of the original price, which is absurd. I would NOT recommend this washer or company.

Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to replace our Whirlpool washer after only four years so I purchased this LG washer due to its supposedly lengthy warranty. I quickly found out that this warranty only covers the motor, which rarely causes issues. Less than a year in and I started getting E6 error codes and this says that something can be stuck in tub or it's a faulty clutch. Nothing was ever stuck in the tub and when I reached out to LG to have it repaired under warranty I was told to try clearing the error. I did this and it worked and continued to work for a little while before it started throwing out the code again and clearing it was no longer helping...but now I'm past the warranty. After reaching out to LG I was able to get the clutch replaced and my warranty was honored since I had reached out previously with the same issue. All was good...so I thought. Within months of getting a "new" clutch, I started receiving the E6 error code yet again. Again, nothing in the tub. I reach out to LG again since I'm still having the same issue and I'm told that I'll have to pay for a service call and parts to replace the part (that was just replaced!). I can't afford to keep purchasing new washers every few years and this one only lasted less than one year. I doubt that it's even the clutch and that's why the initial repair didn't work. I suspect that these so-called smart codes are completely disabling my washer and that it's not an actual part that needs replacing. I should add that I am very careful to never overload the washer or do anything to damage it in any way. Repairs will probably cost as much as a new washer, which is why we had to replace our Whirlpool. This will be our third washer in five years and that is beyond unacceptable. I will most definitely NOT be buying an LG.
