This is a nice tv with a good price for a secondary tv in your house; or for a smaller space in an apartment or dorm room. The picture (I use the "cinema" setting) is very good, clean colors and no artifacts. The sound is fine for the purpose. You can always add some small side speakers if you want more. The setup was fast and easy. Quality appears to be solid. After 1 month no problems.

Got this television for my son. Hooked up his xbox to it. The picture quality is amazing. The picture quality is great use of hook up is so simple that my salad was able to do it. The staff at the Best Buy in Monroe York was truly top-notch which is led by Chris Hawley. Chris got involved with the clsake because he saw how excited my son was and Chris treated him with the upmost respect.

My new LG 40" 1080 TV is a winner all around insofar as picture quality, ease of setup and overall value...but the best part was being able to buy it during Best Buy's Black Friday sale where I was able to save more than $100 off the already discounted price on the TV that I wanted anyway. What a deal. Thanks LG for the superb product...and thanks Best Buy for offering such a great sale.

I wanted to replace my parents broken tv. They don't have internet so a smart TV was not what they wanted. I looked around and read the reviews for this TV. Found more positive reviews and the price was great. Went into the store, and looked at the TV that was on display. Picture was fantastic! Bought it, took it to my parents place. Setup was easy, controls easy to understand. adjusting the picture was a breeze. My parents loved it.

I was looking to purchase my first flat screen TV and being a loyal Best Buy customer I kept a watch on sales and "Deal of the Day" emails. I wanted a basic flat screen TV with a 40" screen and I came across the LG - 40 Class (39.5 Diag.) - LED - 1080p - HDTV - Black at Best Buy. After looking at all my options I settled on this TV for right at $200. Since I didn't plan to get cable there were a few prerequisites for the TV I was looking for and this LG had 2 HDMI ports and 1 USB ports so I could watch YouTube Videos (or anything else from my PC) and I could download movies to a USB and watch them without my computer. I do miss not having a headphone jack and that RCA jacks are the only other available way to hook up a soundbar to the TV if the soundbar doesn't have an HDMI input. I also miss that the TV is not Bluetooth capable. All things considered I am happy with my purchase. I hooked up the cheapest antenna I could find and get 30+ channels. The best local HD channels have an excellent picture and movies I've downloaded to USB's that were in HD quality also have excellent picture quality. I would definitely purchase this TV if I had it to do over again and I'm now waiting for Best Buy to have a sale on the newest smart TV's with the highest specifications to purchase for my living room. I would have given this TV 5 stars if it had Bluetooth, a headphone jack and other outputs than the RCA jacks. Also the power cord could be longer but an extension cord can easily take care of that if needed. Overall I am very happy with this TV's easy set-up, controls and the picture and sound quality.

I got this for my son's room at an amazing Black Friday sale. Everything works as it should, the picture is amazing and it is SO light! We have it hung on the wall. I also love the placement of the power button (bottom right) so when I have to shut off his TV when he forgets to set the sleep timer, I can easily shut it off without having to find the remote!

I bought this TV on Black Friday to replace an old Sony Bravia in my aunty's living room. Compared to that old Sony, the LG is much lighter and thinner. The bezel is also much thinner. The setup was quick and painless. It was also an awesome price. I don't watch a lot of TV at my aunty's house, but her family loves the TV, so that's what counts.

Color, sound and the overall quality of the tv is great.

I'm a researcher through and through. And Best Buy's website is one of the best places around when it comes to reviews on electronics. I searched for a while for the right TV for my teenage daughter's bedroom, which also doubles as a bonus room for all 4 of our children, plus as a guest quarters. I didn't need too many bells and whistles, and wanted to stay away from the Smart option for a few minor, irrelevant reasons. After reading the reviews on this set, it was a clear candidate. And when I found it in store on sale for $199.99 it was game over. I believe the description says the TV only has 2 HDMI inputs, but this one has a total of 3. And in a world where sound bars are king, and TV speakers are getting worse - the sound from this set is surprisingly (albeit barely) above par. It's not gonna blow you away with earth shattering bass or crystal clear highs, but it'll do until I can pair it with a cheaper 2.0 channel sound bar. It only has a 60 Hz refresh rate but, again, certainly not a deal breaker considering my particular application. This set was simply a fantastic value in the 40" class range and it may be the perfect bedroom TV.

We got this tv for my moms bedroom, it was quick and easy to set up. We did have to go back to the store and buy a HDMI cord which made the picture quality much clearer and more colorful then the basic tri color tv cords. The instructions recommended the HDMI so I wished it would have just come with the tv instead of having to go back to the store. Other then that it's been great.

I searched for lots of tv's and decided on this one. Best decision I made. The clarity and crispness of the images are phenomenal. It's like your right there in the moment. Best Buy made it so easy to purchase. They even loaded it in my car. Would recommend this tv to others. The quality and price is perfect.

I'm very satisfied with this TV especially at what was a very attractive price (with free shipping). AND by the way the shipping was incredibly fast - nice job! I don't watch much TV and was upgrading from an old tube TV so anything would have been an improvement, but that said - this unit has a really nice picture. Set-up was also clear and straight forward. I use rabbit ears and that setup was easy and the signal is good (this TV seems to have a better tuner than my previous TV). The audio connection to my stereo system was easy with an optical cable and works very well. Two things I would caution on a little. First, the picture really washes out if viewed from much of a side-angle. Not a problem in my circumstances but if anyone would be watching from any kind of an angle I'd be very cautious about purchase of this model (again I'm a TV rube so maybe all LCD units have this issue). And second, every DVD I've watched displays in a box in the middle of the screen - there isn't any way I can find to fill the entire screen. So unfortunately the movie image isn't as large as I thought it would be when selecting the 40" screen. A DVD image isn't that much larger than my previous tube TV where the whole screen was filled - and a pretty big contrast to regular TV which fills the screen.
