Customers are saying

Customers highly value the 40" Class LED HDTV for its exceptional picture quality and affordable price. Many customers commented on the clarity of the picture, while others appreciated that they were able to get a good TV without breaking the bank. While some customers found the setup process easy, a few mentioned that the remote control did not recognize over-the-air channels.

    Disappointed...

I really wanted to like this TV like a Samsung 1080p and for the price on Black Friday however once you have a Samsung TV or anything less than an OLED LG this picture looks dark, yellowish and dull. I calibrated the TV for 30 minutes and the image was still pretty bad. Returned it.

    Awsome deal on black Friday!

We needed a larger TV for the bedroom. A smart Blu-ray player was in place so the TV didn't have to be so smart. I wasn't going to pay extra bucks for redundancy. I hate that. The TV is pretty dumb but then again it's just a TV. For a TV it does what it's supposed too. Good picture and the sound is ok. You can hear it fine. For the steal of a deal on Black Friday ($149.99) I still feel like I did something wring and should be locked up.

Very happy...notable improvement from the 40LH5300

I am very pleased with this TV. It replaced a 26" Toshiba in my master bedroom. There were no reviews for the 40LH5000 model, but there were many reviews for the 40LH5300. Although most of the reviews were positive, some of the reviews of the 5300 criticized the lack of an audio out plug as well as only two HDMI inputs. The 5000 corrects both of these issues, as it has audio out via optical and three HDMI inputs. This TV has a very nice picture and good sound. For those that complain about the sound, perhaps you are expecting your TV to do too much. Invest in a sound bar or an external audio system. I have a larger TV, Pioneer Elite receiver and 7.1 setup in the living room. This TV will not compete with that. But taking it for what it is, a quality TV for a bedroom, it is quite good. I listen to the TV with volume at level 10 (out of 100) and it is more than adequate for a 16' x 20' bedroom. The only gripe I have is that it is a bit pricey in its class. It seems to be on the higher end of the price range of comparable TVs, but it also does not contain some of the bells and whistles (such as 4K, Smart, etc) of pricier sets. If you can catch this TV on sale and don't care for some of the pricier features, then I recommend for bedroom or smaller living spaces. Overall very satisfied!

    Black Friday online

I ordered this tv online for Black Friday. After entering credit card info, site said purchase was recorded and I would be notified when I could pick it up. Next morning I was informed that set was not available. Wrote a critical review re this transaction. Two days later I was informed that the set was again available and at the Black Friday price. I was originally quick to criticize but BB made good on the purchase and honored the BF price even though the set had gone up substantially. Oh yeah! This is a good set.

This is a nice TV for a bedroom/office/study, especially if you managed to grab it for the $149.99 Black Friday sale. Pros: Sharp Picture Easy to use LG Menu Structure Deep Blacks without light spots/corners 3 HDMI inputs rather than the 2 listed in "Specifications" Strong OTA TV Tuner Name Brand at great price Cons: Cheap Looking and feeling remote (no backlit or glow in dark keys) Very Very short power cord (plan on buying an extension cord)

Great TV; BB Customer Service Lacking

I purchased this TV on Black Friday. Great price. No issues with sound or picture quality. After mounting the television, I discovered it had a dead pixel. No biggie. I attempted to return it. Was told due to no inventory left (understandable due to sales), not possible to attempt an exchange. Best Buy only offered store credit or refund. I ended up taking the TV back home with me. Thankfully the pixel is not noticeable when watching most programs. Unfortunate nonetheless.

    Black Friday 2016 Purchase

Couldn't beat the price for BF2016 ($149). This was the best bang for your buck online. Another TV I was looking at was a Toshiba 50" for $199, but that was in-store only and sold out after 15 minutes. This LG works great out of the box. Couldn't be happier.

I am so impressed by this little device. Wifi in my room was very spotty, but since I hooked up Roku 2, it hasn't dropped once! The menu is easy to understand and has easy to follow features for you to get the most out of your viewing experience! Now I have to buy one for my son's room because he wants one since he saw what mine is capable of!

I purchased on Black Friday, it was an easy set up, basically plug and play. Sound is loud not great but they are tv speakers. Still adjusting picture settings but good picture with good source. Very happy with the purchase and for the price definitely recommend.

My wife and I bought this TV for our son for Christmas and so far it has performed without any issues. My son plays his games and watches movies on this TV without any issues. TV worth the price.

Just installed the TV purchased at black Friday in our mountain cabin. I have a no name and two Samsung TVs which had difficulty in getting and keeping stations tuned in. This one received more stations and locks them in much better and has a better picture than the Samsungs. I am very happy with this TV.

    No Cord or Remote

I got this TV home and realized there was no power cord. Next day, I trek back to Best Buy and buy a power cord, only to plug the TV in and realize there's no way to change the input, channels, volume, etc. because there's no remote and no control panel on the TV. When I went to check the instructions, I realized I didn't have those either! Maybe the store I bought it from just really dropped the ball, but either way, a TV with missing parts leaves a bad taste in my mouth, so I can't bring myself to give a good review.

I just could not pass up on this deal on Black Friday. $149.99 for a 40 inch name brand LED TV? Unbelievable price!!. I did not need a new TV but at this price I had to grab it. Setup was a breeze with my Dish Network Joey. Looks good and the volume is great. Picture is good but need to do a little tweaking to my desired preference. If you happened to get one of these on Black Friday, then you got the deal of the day!!!!

I went to Best Buy yesterday about 9 pm and it was as I thought, packed of people! This wonderful TV is simply amazing and the price is pretty ridiculous, I am more then satisfy. I played Video Clip, Music and Movie, the Audio is amazing since that I cannot go over 20 volume! Great great great highly recommended! Thanks Best Buy!

At $149 like many found this to hard to resist for my bedroom even though I had a perfectly fine 32". Picture is fine out of the box but like others have said, audio is a little tinny but it IS loud. Wish there were RCA audio out jacks but Optical is better than nothing. Also wish there was a WIDE setting. But still pleased.
