Do not buy if you don't have a colorimeter

This TV came with horrible white balance out of the box. So if you don't have a colorimeter to fix it manually, do not buy. The menu ui is unresponsive, simply going from one menu to another requires loading every time.

Slow OS, non functional ports

HDMI ports non functional and filled with some sort of gunk. One port recognized something was plugged in but wouldn't display, the other recognizes nothing. LG OS is painfully slow to use. Only tried using the HDMI ports today, but you expect all aspects of a TV to work when you buy it new.

I am loving this tv! The picture is amazing, the sound quality is great, the set up is simple, etc. The only con is the remote/buttons but if you choose to connect your phone to the tv you can access controls to make it easier to navigate. Apps like Netflix, Hulu, Youtube, etc, come pre-installed which was very convenient. You can also adjust settings like the brightness, add a sleep timer, and much more. This TV has everything you need. It is well worth the money. Trust me when I say BUY THIS TV!!

Great TV - Idiosyncratic operation

I purchased the LG 43UP70 for my bedroom. I chose this model over the LG 43UN70 because the reviews touted it as the newer model with an updated and better display panel.
The television comes with a 22 page owners manual with only 1 page explaining how to operate it.
Since I was switching from a 10 year old Sony Bravia with a Roku device attached, the learning curve was steeper than it should be to operate a television. But once I figured it out the television was excellent.
There are thing that I really like, such as the picture quality and the channel guide.. The LG Television has some apps and channels that are not on either Roku or Fire TV. It is obvious that some of the channels are exclusive to LG televisions, such as “Southern Living” and the “Bar Rescue channel”. This could be a game changer for some people.
And there were some things that I dislike, such as the bufferring time and the quality of its construction. When attaching the coaxial cable to the rear of the television the connection moved in and out and you can see where It was not molded completely.
Since I also bought a Toshiba Fire TV, it was easy to see the difference in construction quality. With the Toshiba winning hands down.
Installing apps through the LG app store requires you to register each app with your smart phone.
The navigation button on the remote is located near the bottom by the heel of your palm instead of near your thumb which most people use to operate a remote. Meaning that you have to look down at the remote to avoid hitting the wrong button. Not a very intuitive design.
There is something called “AI acoustic tuning” built into this television but it requires the LG Magic remote which only comes with the larger and more expensive LG televisions.
Best Buy gives you 14 days to return an item and it took me 7 days to start liking this television. By which time I had already ordered the Toshiba with the intention of returning the LG. The legs on the LG television are spaced close enough to fit on my dresser but The legs on the Toshiba are so wide that I had to add a support.

A Great TV - But Beware

A fantastic picture. Not "for the price," either. LG has always made great TVs. I've watched them for fifteen years. This is the second "modern" tv I have from them. The 7000 series is a great mid-level package. You don't get a Magic Remote, and other assorted features are missing. No big deal. A great picture. Now, let's talk about the remote you DO get. Its buttons are laid out terribly. Buttons that launch other apps should not be next to directional buttons. All the launch buttons are squashed together around the directionals, and you will hit the wrong button all the time, and you will have to back out to the menu and relaunch your app. It will happen. It's very annoying. It's poor engineering and design, and that is surprising from LG. The layout of the menu will drive you nuts, and the very slow load time of the full menu are annoying, as well. In the end, none of this affects the actual quality. Great TV. 4K UHD films are stunning in both low light and bright rooms. The color is just LG. It's what they do. It's marvelous. My advice? Spend the money and get the 8000 series, if you can. It's just a better package.

Setup was a breeze, user prompts guided me through the entire process. The receiver is better than my previous VIZIO TV, as with the same antenna, it was able to pull in more channels. I don’t have traditional cable, so I depend on streaming services and this TV offers all the ones I subscribe to and more. The LG proprietary channels are very nice as well. As far as quality of picture and sound, they are what you’d expect from LG … OUTSTANDING. I would redesign the remote to put the directional and HOME buttons farther up on the face as they are probably used more than any other buttons on the device, but if that’s all I can complain about, we’re doing great. I use this in my office as entertainment as well as a second monitor for my video editing computer. It works great as the monitor for my 4K editing work.

Love this tv. Picture is perfect, so crystal clear. I don’t particularly care for the remote setup but that’s my preference. I would recommend to buy. It’s light in weight to and easy setup. Setup took about 30 minutes.

Are you kidding me??? $325 for this picture! Thrilled with this new 43" TV for our bedroom. Picture is amazing and I actually use the streaming apps with ease! Set up was relatively simple too. Only minor knock is that the remote has no night light, so in the dark it is challenging at times. Great buy!

Hate the remote

The TV has a beautiful picture, but I hate the remote. Too many buttons that are too small, too close together and badly organized. Because there's no back light I can't see what I'm pushing, so I'm constantly hitting the Disney or LG tv one, or the grid guide none of which I want to use. I've wound up having to use a flashlight just to change programs. I wouldn't buy this set again. My Ease of Use is based on this, as the remote is essential.
