    from a LG 48A2 OLED TO A 2024 48B4 OLED

A year or so back I was looking for a 48-50" TV. I had bought a Hisense 50U6H which was okay but I was looking to upscale from ok to pretty great. I was familiar with OLED technology but the typical prices seemed to high vs conventional LED models. Since I always go to Best Buy for my electronics I encountered a new 48A2 LG OLED for 548.00. I looked no farther and grabbed the 48A2 without delay and I am extremely happy with that model. My wife and I are retired and we find our TV on pretty much all day long even when we aren't watching it. Even with that degree of use the 48A2 is rock solid. LG includes software allowing the TV to refresh it's OLED crystals, all 8 million of them, and a screen saver utility to prevent what some folks complained was 'burn in'. This is when an image kept on screen for a very extended time can sort of 'burn' the image into the screen. I heard of it and after about 40000 hours of on time no such issue appeared. The screen image is just as spectacular as when we first turned it on. This commentary was supposed to be more about the 48B4 but the models are similar in a lot of ways and my experience over time favors the 48A2. So now, on to the 48B4. It is the hot rod of the 2 models. 120mhz vs 60 on the A2. 4 HDMI 2.1 ports. Extensive support for gaming be it Xbox, Sony or PC. Alpha 8 AI processor and did I mention the picture? It is the best I have seen. Some reviews mention the brightness but I have no issues with it. An upper model, the C4 series, is brighter and has some enhancement tech but whatever gives it the greater brightness doesn't apply to the 48" version of the C4. If you are interested in looking a professional version of the A2 or B4 or C4 models may I suggest that you go to Youtube and searcg for 'Rtings' and look for their reviews. Not sure about the future but LG has given Best Buy exclusive rights to sell the 48" models.. the C4 is available in 48" in many stores but the B4 and A2 series 48" models are exclusive to Best Buy..

Got this on sale for $499. An incredible value and perfectly sized for my small living room. The 48" size is available exclusively from Best Buy. I have a 65" C1 LG OLED I bought about 4 years ago (also from Best Buy) and this smaller TV's quality is pretty darn close. The blacks are inky black and the image when playing 120 FPS video games is GREAT. This is an incredible value for the money. The 4 x HDMI 2.1 inputs is a huge plus. People say the speaker in the TV is not great, but I beg to differ. The sound is more than sufficient in my living room and I usually keep the volume at 1/5 max. My only gripe is the remote control (which is the same as my c1) - i've never been the biggest fan of LG remotes, but that is probably just a personal preference.

When trying to look for a TV for my bedroom, I was a bit spoiled by the giant OLED I already had in the living room. Looking for the smallest OLED, I came upon the B4. While it has the older A8 processor vs the A9 that is in the higher end C4, the UI is still quick and responsive with only the occasional pause. The speakers are decent and usable, though I did end up getting a soundbar as I found the vocals to sound a bit on the muffled side. The picture itself is as glorious as OLEDs can be - rich vibrant color with amazing contrast, and gets plenty bright in my bedroom. I am not a fan of the remote's gyroscopic pointer feature, but it proves to be only a minor annoyance. Lastly, the fact that all of the HDMI ports are 2.1 is a bonus. The smart TV interface is plenty usable and snappy. The only minor annoyance I have is that when I turn it on, if I immediately go to one of the apps, such as YouTube, sometimes it will not load the content, as if it has to connect to the WiFi first. I have to wait about 5-10 seconds and then the content will load. There is a fast boot option that I haven't tried yet that probably will fix that. At the bargain price of just 599, it was larger AND cheaper than the 42" C4 I was comparing it to. I didn't need anything fancy for gaming - just for watching Netflix, YouTube ,and Apple TV. Slam dunk.

Okay, I don't usually write reviews, but I had to share my thoughts on this TV. It's seriously impressive! From the moment I turned it on, I was blown away by the picture quality. The colors are vibrant and realistic, and the clarity is just stunning. Here's what I loved: Picture Quality: Like I said, it's amazing. Sharp, detailed, and the HDR really makes a difference. Whether I'm watching movies, sports, or playing video games, everything looks incredible. Sound: The built-in speakers are surprisingly good. They're not going to replace a dedicated sound system, but they definitely get the job done for everyday viewing. Smart Features: Navigating the menus is a breeze, and the smart features are super responsive. I love having all my streaming apps built-in. Design: The TV itself is sleek and modern. It looks great in my living room. Why not 5 stars? Honestly, it's nitpicking. The only thing that keeps this TV from a perfect score is the remote. It's a little clunky and not as intuitive as I'd like. But seriously, that's it! Overall: This TV is an absolute winner. If you're looking for a fantastic viewing experience without breaking the bank, look no further. Highly recommended!

Needed to upgrade the television in my living room to something that had a much better viewing angle. After (far too much) researching different LED panel types, I knew that my best option would always be an OLED. I was concerned that brightness would be an issue because my living room has a lot of natural light - and I couldn’t have been more wrong to be concerned. The screen is wonderfully, and objectively bright, the picture is beautiful, I don’t have any issues with the remote or the OS (but I do use an Apple TV).

While looking for a new TV to replace my outdated one in my bedroom, I didn’t want to break the bank and spend over $800 for a new TV. After searching the internet, I stumbled across the B4 and have no regrets. For the price I paid, happy is an understatement. During movies and shows, the picture quality is great. Colors really jump out at you, blacks are black, and it feels like you’re inside the scene. Like other OLEDs, this TV does produce some glare, but nothing crazy so keep that in mind. If you mostly watch TV at night with lights off like myself, this TV is perfect for you. To add to that, the speakers aren’t the best if you’re an avid movie enjoyer like myself. I’d highly recommend investing in a soundbar, some speakers, or some other sound system. I would also suggest looking at the pre owned section and save yourself $50 like I did and use it towards a mount or a soundbar. Buying pre owned, I found no scratches, dents, malfunctions or anything. All in all, this is the best budget OLED TV on the market by far.

The LG B4 48” is excellent if you want a 48-50” TV, you don’t have to pay a huge amount to get a great OLED TV! It has an awesome picture and sound. I cannot speak for the Web OS, I used a Firestick 4K since already knew that system and it worked great. The OLED panel delivers the best TV viewing experience I have ever had. Bright, vivid colors that really pop. I never had any issues with it not being bright enough in a moderately lit to well lit room. It has customizable settings for the different picture modes so you can adjust everything to suit you. If you’re considering a OLED TV don’t hesitate on a LG B4! It was a bargain at $599.99! I highly recommend this TV!!!

Great OLED panel. My wife picked it up for me for my 50th birthday at that unbelievable $800.00 price tag! Good exterior build; the materials that constitute the TV are of high quality. I like that LG changed the stand from a pedestal to 4 legs, i can place a sound bar there easier and it seems more stable. I was actually surprised how good the TV speakers were; they were crisp , not distorted at high volume and dialogue was very clear. Its a bit dark if a gaming panel, it took some work to fine tune the diplay settings due to how dark some scenes would get. Movies and streaming look amazing on this OLED panel! I ended up pairing this TV with a with a Bose TV Speaker compact sound bar and the combination is absolutely amazing in my 10x 16 man-cave. I would highly recommend this TV for anyone whi wants OLED but doesn’t want the high price tag. Still fine tuning it, but these are new TV growing pains!

This oled tv replaced my 48A2 oled on my desk. It gives me the ability to play my ps5 and xbox series x at 4k@120hz in hdr. The picture quality of oled is truly astounding, it is clear, the hdr brightness is wonderful and the colors are nice even though it is not a qd-oled. The sound quality is nice as well. The 120hz refresh rate, vrr, Dolby Vision, extremely low input lag and 4k visuals allow you to game with enjoyment or delight. It checks almost every box. I said almost, because, it may not get bright enough like those higher end models but it can hold it's own. You will be happy with this.model!

I’m absolutely loving the LG B4 48” OLED! The picture resolution is stunning — colors are vibrant, blacks are truly black, and everything just looks so crisp and lifelike. Whether I’m watching movies, gaming, or streaming sports, the detail and clarity are next-level. The TV automatically adjusts the picture based on what I’m watching, and it makes a noticeable difference — everything looks its best without me having to tinker with settings. I expected to need a soundbar, but the AI Sound Pro feature with the built-in speakers deliver rich, immersive audio that fills the room. Dialogue is clear, bass is punchy, and the overall sound quality blew me away for a TV this slim. This is my first OLED, and I can’t believe I waited this long. Highly recommend the B4 if you’re looking for top-tier visuals and audio experience for a great deal!

I like to use TVs hooked up to my pc because large computer monitors are very expensive. Not only can this TV handle up to 120 frames per second, it's got other features to reduce latency and improve picture while gaming. If you have the GPU to take advantage of 4K, games and videos look amazing. It did take a while to figure out the correct settings for my setup, and I also had to buy a new HDMI cord as my old one couldn't handle that much data and was falling. But, once I did I can game at high fps in 4k and 1440p. Also came in the exact size I wanted, 48 inches. Overall a great TV, solid price especially open box like I got it, and I'm very happy with it.

Best Budget 4k 120hz OLED TV you can get for the price $599 black friday. It gets all the bells and whistles for consoles and PC gaming. I actually prefer smaller size TV because you get more PPI. I do not see any green tint like other reviewers talk about. The only reason not to get this TV is Hisense U7N $479 cheaper and bigger. But you don't get OLED and LG brand recognition(good or bad.). I never connect this TV directly to the internet because of the ads and privacy.

Bought this LG OLED TV while it was on sale at Bestbuy. It has excellent picture quality and blows any LCD TV out of the water. The contrast ratio is infinite due to OLED technology, which allows for deep blacks. Other colors are vibrant and inky looking, while motion handling is super smooth. Another plus is that this display supports native 120hz refresh rates and all of the latest standards for 4K hdr high frame rate gaming. In my opinion, you seriously can’t go wrong with getting this TV if you are looking for the best picture quality possible at the lowest price. The fact that it has great software support and is made by LG is icing on the cake. The only downside I can think of is the wide-set stand legs that attach to the TV. They allow for a soundbar to fit neatly underneath. However, it’s very inconvenient if you dont have a table wide enough to support the full length of the tv legs. A center mount stand would be much better in my opinion. Overall, I Highly recommend this TV.

This TV is amazing. The OLED really makes the colors pop. Using my PS5 pro and being able to use all the tech it offers like 4k, 120hz & VRR really changed the way I game. Movies also look great too especially when enabling the "smooth" option under the trumotion setting, makes the movies appear so much more smoother. Great picture, great price and cheaper than the C4. Can't recommend this TV enough!

Price was great and has all the features I could want. This replaced an old Panasonic plasma. I have compared many LED and LCD TV's to the plasma over the years. None of which could compare in terms of picture quality. OLED is the first technology that can best a plasma. And of course energy consumption-wise, the OLED has the plasma beat hands down. Very happy with this purchase. Not only is the picture vibrant and crisp, but it is very bright and the sound far exceeded my expectations. I figured with the TV being so thin that the sound would suffer. I planned to purchase a sound bar to make up for it. However, the sound gets plenty loud and seems fuller than I expected. I "may" still get a sound bar at some point, but I don't feel any urgency to do so. Also, this is my first LG TV. I have always purchased Panasonic for plasma and Samsung or Sony for LED/LCD. I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of the LG. It feels like a good build quality. Doesn't look cheap in any way. And the interface is very smooth and responsive. The apps are much quicker and smoother than those on my Roku. I would purchase this TV again.

I had a 55in LG oled c1 for years that I used as a gaming tv. I recently gave that tv to a family member and was in search of a new rig. I didn’t want something as large but definitely wanted oled for its low response times and true blacks and hdr for gaming. I am thoroughly impressed by this tv as my main screen for a ps5. Colors render fast, no frame dropping in high stakes moments in pvp. Zero ghosting, and deep inky blacks. Makes space games look unreal. I had a 42in lg c3 and felt like it was too small. The b4 is a year newer, basically has all the tech of the c3, is 6in larger, and is $50-100 cheaper. $800 is an absolute steal for a new oled of this caliber. If you are considering a 32in oled gaming monitor this would be a great alternative for $400 hundred dollars cheaper. I had my last lg oled for about 4 years and it never let me down, and I used it for some long sessions. I’m expecting that I’ll be able to get the same out of the b4. Don’t worry about burn in, just do the pixel cleaning and shut it off when not using it. These panels hold up when you take care of them. If you can get them on sale all the better.

I had concerns based on some of the reviews I'd read that indicated brightness might be an issue in brightly lit rooms. But for the price and our dimmer lighting conditions, this model was perfect. It saved us hundreds of dollars over the updated model. The color and resolution are beautiful. The blacks of the OLED give a crisp picture quality. The sound is fine for me but I suppose those with more discriminating tastes may want to invest in a sound bar. Installation was performed by an independent installer.

I have had this LG OLED for about a month now and couldn’t be happier. I already had a 55” C series that has been an excellent TV, with the exception of the LG Magic Remote that is very finicky about powering the TV on and off (seems to be just the power button that is the issue) so I have to turn the TV off manually. This 48” IKED is primarily used for gaming with my Xbox Series S console and I am very pleased with how well it performs. Colors are bright, blacks are deep, virtually no lag. The Magic Remote for this TV has worked fine so far and we’ll see how it holds up over time. Because the TV powers on and off with my Xbox (via my controller) I inly use the remote if I watch TV or stream shows so it will probably hold up longer. Be sure the stand you plan to place the TV on is wide enough to accommodate it, the TVs feet are spread pretty far apart. All in all I am loving the new TV.

Gaming wise it far outperformed my last tv so yes it is an awesome tv for gamers. If you have a chance to buy one do so performance and rice its hard to beat.
