48-inch OLED 4K TV
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You can't beat OLED! I'd say color and contrast for 4K games, Ultra HD 4K Blu-ray and streaming apps in 4K are excellent, brightness is very good, sound is very good. I also have a 43" 4K LG, 65" 4K Smart LG 90 series that runs 120hz for gaming with compatible systems, but the 48" LG C1 Smart OLED tv beats them both, also has 120hz refresh for compatible gaming systems by HDMI. HD cable tv, HD Blu-ray and non 4K games are also look very, very, good on this. It could use some more top apps; the screen might reflect some light if facing a window that is very close. I also have had Samsung LED HD tv's but switched to LG 4K tv's, because they are reasonably priced and the same and or better at those prices of Samsung or anyone else. This is my first OLED tv, so I don't know how the others are, but to me it's better than anything I have ever seen in side-by-side comparisons and got this @ $799.99 and cost less than the 2-year-old living room 65" LG 4K tv.

The Best OLED TV on the Market
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It cannot be said enough just how great this TV truly is. If you are in the market for a new TV, and you are interested in OLED technology, the LG C1 is the best choice you could make. The picture quality is second to none, with beautiful lighting from the HDR settings, to the deep blacks that make the 4K picture truly stand out. I would particularly recommend this TV to gamers (just make sure to search online for the best picture settings). The internet connectivity and plethora of apps adds a ton of value to the TV as well, especially if you lack any other type of streaming device. It's a beauty to look at even without anything on the screen, with a frameless border and a premium-looking stand. I would recommend a sound bar if you wish to upgrade your movie-viewing experience, but the speakers are still better than you'd find in most TVs in the segment. Grabbing this TV at the current sale price that LG discounts to at the end of the product year cycle is a must. You will not be disappointed.

I can't believe I like a TV this much.
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It will be 2 years next month, and i have loved every second of this TV since receiving it. Truly a perfect gaming TV let alone better than any TV I have seen since 1080p was new. Around 2007 my family got a 1080p 60" Sony and I have not seen or heard a TV come close to the audio that TV delivered until I recieved my LG C1. I didn't buy it for that and I heard it had good audio but I absolutely did not believe it in this day n age but for the first time since that Sony I have finaly met a TV where buying speakers isn't mandatory or expected. What I bought this TV for was gaming, High fidelity/High resolution, low latency, High frame rate gaming. This TV is truly comparable to a decent computer monitor which we are told doesn't exist. When I go to other people's houses and play games on their XboxX/PS5 on their TV I immediately notice the latency. The resolution is nice but personally I would have bought a 1080p 60fps TV with this low of latency if it existed. Playing at 120hz with monitor level latency is really as good as i always heard. Before this I never used features on smart TVs but I actually have apps on this and I have an LG phone ( hopefully they make more, they stopped making phones) and I used the LG app to use my phone as the remote (but i no longer have cell service on that phone and in the sarcastically greatest ingenuity they designed the app to only work with cell service and not wifi or Bluetooth so i can't use my phone as a remote anymore) Nothing is perfect. The one thing I absolutely dislike on a frustration level is the motion control remote. A mouse pointer will appear on screen that you control by waving the remote. A friend of mine has the the 50/52" version of this TV and he only uses the pointer. I can't turn it off. I like to twirl remotes in my hands while watching TV and the mouse starts flying all over the screen. 100% recommend. The complete package and not even the most expensive TV.

PC Gaming
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a long fan of the LG OLED. I finally picked up the 48" C1, after debating on CX or even the G1. I would have gone with the G1, but preferred the 48" over the 55" to sit right behind my desk. That and the other reason is G1 being the new EVO panel, while just a bit brighter I would like to see all sizes available in the 48" size. If you have the room and funds for the 55" of either C1 or G1, go for it. I just didn't think the cost was along the line of what I minimal difference I would be receiving. Other than that, the picture is amazing, especially playing RDR2 and online. I have not played CyberPunk 2077 yet, heard quite a few good things. I come from using LG 27" gaming monitors, love them. I felt it was time I tested out the OLED family as a gaming monitor. The Game Panel is a nice touch as well. I do have the CX 77" in our room that sits with the PS5 and Xbox Series X. That helped my decision on nabbing a C1 also. The only thing I would change is the stand, such a pain to do solo. It is doable, but help is much suggested.

Best Display I've ever owned
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this tv to use as a monitor for PC gaming. I was on the fence about it for the longest time because of the size, but I could not be happier. This display is truly the best I have ever owned. It is one thing to hear about OLED and see it on display, but you won't understand how incredible it actually is until you put your content on it and see how it enhances your viewing experience. Picture quality in unmatched with deep, dark blacks, HDR looks great, colors pop, the glossy screen is so clear it's like I'm looking through glass into another world. Something I was not expecting was just how smooth the tv feels. I came from a 144hz monitor, so I thought I knew what smooth was, but as it turns out, I was living a lie until I found this. This is truly low input lag, great silky smooth motion. I also wasn't expecting to like the remote or UI of the TV as much as I do. My other TVs are Sony, and this honestly just blows everything else out of the water, and they very competitively priced. Because it is OLED, you will have to watch out for burn in, but I haven't taken any extreme measures to prevent it with normal usage, and I'm going on a month with no issues yet. So long as you're aware that it's something that could happen, so you turn the tv off when you're not using it, and try to limit how long static content is displayed (such as a task bar, or HUD) you should be okay. I was also worried about it not being bright enough for a bright room, but I haven't really found reflections to be that distracting. Yeah, it's probably better for dark rooms, but don't let that stop you from enjoying the incredible picture quality this thing offers. Take the plunge, get OLED, get LG. I cannot recommend this TV highly enough

Great for gaming and as a Monitor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to use primarily as a monitor and for gaming, both PC & console, second. For those wondering and worrying, burn-in has not been a problem for regular work use 8-9hours a day for about 6 weeks. I have taken and used the regular preventive measures such as dark mode and turning down OLED brightness on some settings. Overall you're buying this for the picture quality which is nothing short of amazing for gaming at 4k, watching Netflix or whatever other UHD content. Best in class for gaming, great primary monitor. Don't worry about burn-in. If you're really worried, get a warranty package that covers burn in to protect your investment, this level of image quality is worth it.

Outstanding OLED TV - worth every penny
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this TV after not having made a smart TV purchase in roughly 7-8 years. I've been blown away by how this TV looks - Refresh rate in itself is worth it for the newer generation consoles (XboxSX/PS5), and I'll also be using this with my gaming PC as well. Game optimizer feature is awesome to have on as well! Having worked in eSports remotely from home, I'd definitely use the 48" as my main monitor as well as for gaming. OLED technology is crazy in this TV, when the screen is just showing a blank black screen you'd swear the thing was just turned off. Vibrant colors in scenery look awesome. I was really blown away by the AI functions of the sound quality as well. We have a relatively small bedroom so the 48" was perfect size, but I generally have this thing at about 15-20/100 in volume because of how great the sound quality is. If you're using a bigger size in a larger room and wanting the full "home-theater experience", you'd surely want to buy an audio system along with it. I think my biggest nit-pick about this TV is just the setup - be sure to watch a video or read instructions, there's an insert on the base that sits towards the front that you'll want to make sure you install before you decide to put the screws in to hold the TV. Otherwise it's a great product and I have no qualms about paying the money I did for it.

The best monitor and TV I've ever owned
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is by far the best display I have ever owned, I've had samsung QLED panels, and a TCL LED tv before and OLED just blows them away. OLEDs perfect black is a game changer for contrast ratio, I really cant overstate just how great this tv is for HDR and for viewing in general. Now I use this display as my main monitor for my pc with an RTX 3080, 120hz Gsync at 4K is absolutely amazing, the size takes awhile to get used to but this screen is amazing as a monitor if you can deal with the size and are lucky enough to have the graphics horse power to feed it.

Everything I could ever ask for and have ever wan!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a gamer who has been playing on old 1080p screens for years. After literal years of research and saving I finally was ready to buy my first tv and as someone who mainly plays on my PS4 currently I was leaning more towards buying a 4K Sony tv. I spoke with a friend about this plan and he urged me to shoot for an OLED instead. I was hesitant due to how bright I believed the OLED screen was and their higher price tag which is why I had been steering towards a more basic 4K model, but after more research I learned LCD screens actually generate more Lumens than OLED screens do and this model went on sale! He recommended this tv as opposed to one of Sony's OLEDS because it is by and far more bang for your buck when you're comparing OLEDS and he wasn't wrong! My friend bought a 55" for his bedroom and said it's terrific but wouldn't want to go bigger while I went for the 48" and find myself saying the same thing lol. Even though i'm playing on a base PS4 this tv makes my games look next-gen. The graphics are detailed and smooth thanks to the HDR and 120hz refresh rate of the tv, and tv shows, streams and movies look twice as good as they did on my old 1080p as well. It took me a few hours following a youtube video and my friends advice to setup the display settings for each viewing mode but after I was done I was blown away with the picture quality and freedom to alter the graphics and make presets the tv will auto switch to dependant on the content I'm viewing. Coming right out of the box the default settings were quite horrid with the brightness and sharpness set to max but once you lower the sharpness and adjust the brightness and white balancing to your liking you'll love what you see, just youtube a display setup guide you'll be golden! The tv definitely required two people to setup even while being the smallest model, it is a bit on the heavy and bulky side but nothing compared to the tube tvs I grew up with. The speakers are not notable but I don't really care since I live in an apartment with thin walls and usually watch tv with a gaming headset on anyway. I'm finding the remote to be really quite enjoyable despite the fact it has no backlight, and when I am tired of using it I can simply connect to the tv with my smart phone and use my phone as a second tv remote. The screen mirroring and Android features are fantastic too I can finally easily watch anime that isn't on Vrv or Crunchyroll or play Angry Birds on a 48" screen. For the price and the quality you really can't find a better deal! Buy one before they're all gone!!! The C2 is having a lot of reported issues seems like LG has outdone themselves with the C1.

Best TV we've ever owned or seen
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll start with the bottom line - This TV has the best picture quality I've ever seen on a TV. It backs that up with great sound and lots of detailed control capability to tailor it to our desires, which is what we were seeking. In the past we've not gone for the highest end TVs, shooting instead for a good (good enough) picture at a low price. When our 1080p Toshiba main TV recently died, in addition to looking at TVs in person in stores we read tons of online reviews and looked at detailed specs and measurements on various sites, including rtings. We have a 32" Samsung in another room and are very happy with it, so we first tried a Samsung Q60T - great picture but it had a weird sound problem with a distorting resonance in the low frequencies that could not be cured with equalizer settings (both engineers, read the manual, called Samsung help desk). Returned it and tried a Samsung T8000, good picture, same sound problem, so we returned it as well. That's when we decided to splurge and get this more expensive TV that scores much higher in reviews and spec measurements across the board. Several TV/electronics review sites here and in the UK have this new model TV and its predecessors (CX, C9) as their top TVs for several years in a row, and now we can see why. We're between 30 and 40 miles from a big city and get our regular channels over the air with a small inside the house antenna. The TV does a great job of picking up over the air channels, as good or better than our small Samsung and our previous Toshiba. We watch Blu-rays and DVDs and hook up a laptop via HDMI to do whatever else we want without interacting with the apps. It has a fantastic, detailed picture that seems accurate, natural, and easily customizable to both the material we're watching at the time as well as the room conditions and our personal preferences. Blu-ray content is spectacular and it does a great job with upscaling lower resolution content like old TV shows. We use the onboard speakers and are quite happy with them. The sound is balanced across the frequency spectrum, sounding full, clear, and rich without being harsh in the top end or muddy in the midrange and bass. (FYI - We are also musicians with plenty of audio electronics at home. You can always add more gear for a home theater or blasting gaming experience, but the onboard speakers are as good as I've heard in a TV.) We don't use the smart features/apps or the voice control on the Magic Remote, so look to other reviews for insights on those. We did buy a second, cheap LG remote to get a dedicated "Info" button that is not on the included Magic Remote (Info available but buried too deep, plus we like each having a remote). The "Info" gives more detailed information that what appears when just clicking on the "i" next to a show on the Listings screen. We are very happy that we stepped up to this TV and feel it was worth it.

Better than I hoped and worth every penny!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed to replace my 38 month old Samsung due to a vertical shadow/stripe issue on its screen which seems to be a big problem based on similar complaints I read in more than one forum! Most posters were saying the cost to fix the shadow issue would be in the $200 range for a TV that cost me $399. Not worth it. It was time to shop. It did not take long to find glowing reviews for the LG C1. That said, I bought the 48" screen while it was $200 off during the holidays. I use a home theater set up, and a cable box, so all I had to do was unplug my old TV's connections and match to the inputs on the C1. Piece of cake. It took me a while to set up the picture settings to my liking but that should be expected. Different viewers will have different tastes as to how they want their picture to appear for Standard Definition. I bounce between Cinema and Expert Dark Room modes with my own fine tuning. (Mind you, it may take a few days to get used to the settings so be patient; you'll get there!) Now for the real deal re HD!! If your cable box and/or audio receiver have HDMI ARC inputs you will be blown away once you watch a movie with 4K and 4K HDR broadcasting. NO need to worry about which picture mode to use. The broadcast and TV do it all. Total brilliance on the screen! (One tip: Once you understand your settings keep Filmmaker Mode ON.) Go to any 4K or 4K HDR video on Netflix, Hulu, etc. and prepare yourself for amazing viewing! The HDR resolution on the C1 just blew me away. With the exception of a couple of minutes, while tinkering with the settings, I have not used the TV's internal speakers. For the few moments I did listen, it seemed adequate. I always run my TV through my audio receiver. The expert reviewers are not wrong with their reviews of the LG C1. This is an awesome TV!

Amazing for gaming, but low SDR brightness for fil
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.*This is my second LG C1* I will keep short, read (-) for notable cons July 2022 - second LG C1 (EVO) Summary= Incredible performance at unbelievable price especially if used for gaming Pros: +EVO panel has superior SDR performance for non-native 4k devices such as the nintendo switch +HDR content is sufficiently bright and beautiful +This particular unit is literally double if not more brightness than my first panel in both SDR/HDR +Every other pro is the same as my first unit Cons: (-)SDR brightness for shows/films is still underwhelming (-)Potential burn-in with static content November 2021 - LG C1 (not EVO) Summary= HDMI1 port not working, and extremely dim display, returned Pros: +Beautiful deep and vibrant colors +Perfect viewing angles +Excellent build and aesthetic quality +Low latency gaming +User friendly software, and lots of options to fine tune to your liking Cons: (-) Ridiculously dim making it unusable for a majority of content (-)Potential burn-in with static content Some final notes: I am not a reviewer so i dont know the technical bits but i am shocked at the difference between the 2 panels I have had. On paper the EVO is supposed to be around 30% brighter and scale resolution better. But my C1 EVO's SDR brightness is comparable to my monitor which is about 400 nits. That was not remotely the case before. So ultimately there is a huge inconsistency in manufacturer. Now there are many who have reported bright panels even for non-EVO panels so i probably just got super unlucky. And not to mention the broken HDMI port, so it was inevitable i was going to return. Just a heads up for those who are excited. I was very low expectation for the second panel but decided to go for it since it prices dropped so much and i am extremely happy!

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.By far the best Tv/ Monitor I have ever owned. I did tons of research before buying and I have to say I am blown away with how the picture quality it has and its performance while gaming. I have seen good/mixed reviews but I said I'd take the chance and am glad I did. Money well spent oh and by the way, I am not worried about burns as BestBuy got my back with its protection plan, which I truly appreciate. One more thing, If this helps anyone, I am rocking a 5950x with a 3090. 4K 120 looks so buttery smoooooth.

The BEST gaming TV on the market!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a 55" LG C9 OLED in 2019. I was lucky enough to reserve an Xbox Series X on preorder for day 1 last November. I love gaming in my free time, with the vast majority being in the competitive FPS scene. I love my 55" C9, it is currently in my living room for normal, daily use. However, I saw the 48" C1 for only $1,100 and felt like jumping on it. 55", even in my decently sized man cave always felt just a little too big. I know it doesn't sound like much, but the 48" C1 really hits the sweet spot for gaming. It is the perfect size. It also has a game optimization mode, showing how many frames/second are running (120 frames/second in Battlefield V= SWEET!!!) and you can select what kind of genre of game you're playing to optimize things like shadowing details and latency. The C1 also has Nvidia G-sync and AMD Freesync compatibility. If you're a gamer and you're thinking about a new TV, you can't do better than the C1. And if you're going to use the TV specifically for gaming, trust me, go with the 48". It is so much better than the 55" I was playing on. Do NOT go bigger for gaming, unless you're in a huge room and plan to use it for normal, every day use along with gaming.

||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this TV for the office and man it's great. I've only had LCD tv's from Sony (900e), so I'm not a newbie with this stuff. This TV just blows it out of the water in terms of color and motion flow. I personally LOVE MotionFlo in my TVs. I don't really feel the input lag and it literally looks like 120fps gaming. I understand that others don't feel the same, but playing GTA V with Auto HDR on my series X with MotionFlo set to max is breathtaking on this TV. That is NOT an understatement. That being said...movies are harder to calibrate because of the screen judder (OLEDS pixels switch too fast on movies so it makes it look choppy). I got a head ache with this so I had to turn on MotionFLO on a lower setting and adjust the audio delay. Unfortunately, this meant I had to turn off DolbyVision. Lord Of the Rings 4k is just insane on this puppy. TL;DR: TV is 100% worth it, but more than likely you'll have to mess with the settings to get it to fit your taste.

Almost the perfect TV
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV blew me away for playing modern games. OLED makes games really pop, even without HDR! Low latency, supports VRR. I am a little worried about burn in though, and 30fps don't look very nice on this tv compared to an LCD because of the crisp motion clarity (this is more of an issue with OLED in general not this specific TV).
