Average Entry Level
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This LG is an average budget 4K TV, as the picture bleeds black, is way too dark, and not much of an upgrade over a good 1080P set. The reason for 3 stars is that the sound is excellent for a lower end 4K TV(otherwise it would be 2 stars).

How can they sell this.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this TV for blackfriday for 399.00. For a 49' TV that cost 399.00 I wasn't expecting that much picture quality. I was expecting somewhat average of picture quality, but this TV is not even worth $200. Movies look like you're watching soap operas and they look sped up, yeah, sped up. You know that slow motion effect, but the opposite. I did some research to try to find a fix for this and the only thing I could find was to turn off trumotion. That helped with the soap opera effect a bit, but you can still tell the effect is still there and the sped up thing did not go away. Cartoons look ok on this TV, but if you want to enjoy a movie, this TV will be a big disappointment. I want to return this thing. I'm not happy with this purchase at all.

Great TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this TV. Once you watch TV in 4K Ultra HD you never want to watch TV in anything else ever again. Great picture quality you can almost see the pore on a persons face. This TV was definitely a steal for $399.99

Good TV, but incorrect color
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TV meets expectations in terms of requirements. However, the description and pictures from Best Buy are incorrect. Instead of receiving a Grey colored TV, TV came out to be Black.

Wrong description of tv frame color.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best Buy did nothing to make good on a product description. TV frame was described as silver in Best Buy's product description, only to receive TV with a black frame. Customer service did nothing to make this right. Purchased TV on Black Friday at $399.00 and now I have to purchase another tv at full price. No longer purchasing from Best Buy's. Went to PC Richard and bought tv. The workers at Best Buy's also have no knowledge of what they are selling. Horrible training and sub standard customer relation skills.

Not bad for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For $400, you won't find a nicer TV, however I recommend saving up for the Samsung 8000 series. Higher price but much better picture quality.

Poor Picture Quality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picture quality is just poor, colors are not vivid or bright enough, blacks are to light. Also didnt like the WEBOS interface. Picked up a TCL after returning this one, and picture quality differences is HUGE, i went for the LG first thinking it was a "Know Brand", but was really disappointed, im enjoying my TCL now with Roku TV which is way better then webos.

Processor went out!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well this was not a great TV. The processor went out after 2 years, slowly turning the color bluer and bluer and bluer. I wasn’t thrilled with LG and will probably just go back with Samsung.

Identical to 49UH6100 with 4K & HDR under $400!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After heavily researching TVs, ideally, I wanted to go with a 4K with HDR, but the price of the HDR was a bit out of where I was hoping to be, so I was set on this model for 4K because even without HDR, it seemed like a great deal! Upon entering the store, we found the 49UH6100 model on display which was $100 more on sale for the identical size. We asked a sales associate for the differences between the 49UH6030 (this model) and the 49UH6100 and were told that the 49UH6100 had a 120Hz refresh rate while the 49UH6030 had only a 60Hz refresh rate, which is not as ideal for gaming, sports, etc. A quick google search told me that many companies (LG included) often are not transparent about the true refresh rate of TVs, so their "TruMotion" technology actually makes the 120Hz refresh rate a 60Hz refresh rate. That being the only difference and having some concerns about the true nature of the 120Hz in the more expensive model, anyway, we went with this one knowing that we could also return it if we weren't happy with the display. On top of that, we were shocked to discover that both models are in fact HDR, even though they aren't displayed that way on Best Buy's site. The product page, owner's manual, and box all state that both models are 4K with HDR. http://www.lg.com/us/tvs/lg-49UH6030-4k-uhd-tv?bvrrp=Main_Site-en_US/reviews/product/2/MD05761979.htm **That makes this, by far, the cheapest household brand of TV with both 4K and HDR on the market that I have found.** Upon getting home and setting up the TV (which was easy), the picture was not only immensely better than our 4 year old Vizio 1080p TV, but the sound was amazing. We actually no longer need our sound bar because this TV offers a rich surround sound type audio. Also, upon detailed reading of the technical specifications on both the website and the owner's manual, I discovered the the refresh rate is actually also 120Hz, just like the other model for $100 more. **This means that the 49UH6100 and the 49UH6030 are IDENTICAL except for the price!* Just check the specs on LG's website. >>Bottom line, you will not find a major brand 4K 50" TV with 120Hz refresh rate and HDR for this price anywhere else! Under $400 is a steal and we are very happy with this purchase! 49UH6030: http://www.lg.com/us/tvs/lg-49UH6030-4k-uhd-tv 49UH6100: http://www.lg.com/us/tvs/lg-49UH6100-4k-uhd-tv

More like a 3k tv LG's RGBW panel Beware
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you look up info on rgbw lg panels you will see what im talking about. To keep it simple tvs usually use a r(red) g(green) b(blue) pixel layout and this results in what you see on your screen. LG on the other hand uses rgbw the w being a white pixel added. now on a rgb panel you have 8,294,400 pixels that will light up between red, green. and blue to give you array of colors and help provide details in your picture. But with this lg model and certain others you get roughly 6 million red, green and blue pixels and 2 million white pixels, that in my opinion do nothing to help picture quality in fact I think it severely degrades picture quality. So to me this in fact is more of a 3k tv and I couldn't in good conscience call this a 4k tv. Also do your research into 10 bit vs 8 bit panels when looking for hdr some tvs call themselves hdr but that means they can simply accept the signal and you wont get a full wide color gamut.
