The TV was easy to install and set up, but all of the factory settings for the various video modes gave images that were duller and dimmer than my old Sony non-LED TV. After considerable fiddling with all the available modes and settings, I was able to get the picture close to the quality of my old Sony. The cost of this new LG TV was about one third the cost of the Sony. Also one evening a few days after we got the LG TV, the left edge of the screen remained darker than the rest of the screen. This was very annoying to watch and I considered returning the TV, but it only did this for one evening and has not done it since then.

I've had this LG8000 TV for about two months and I'm still finding new features! So far, no "bugs!" I’m very happy with my purchase. The picture’s clear and color’s good. I didn’t add a sound bar and I’m not sure I need to, the sound quality is pretty good even listening to music. I bought this particular set for the voice command feature in the remote, but it's so easy to point & click (the cursor’s like on a computer) that I don't use the voice command very often. Point & click to change between cable TV, radio and apps like Netflix. There’re also "built-in" channels available to add to the variety of entertainment available. Browse the web without turning on your computer or wirelessly project (screen share) from your Android phone or other device (not Apple). I think I’ll add ROKU next so I can watch cable TV thru the Spectrum app. It also has four HDMI & two USB ports, plus LAN, etc. The easy to change screen brightness settings mean content is viewed according to the room's environment (dark room, bright room) or the content (cinema, sports, games, etc.) for the best viewing experience. Within the preset picture settings (bright room, dark room, etc.) you can make additional adjustments to the brightness & picture by simply pointing and clicking in the picture settings menu. All very intuitive. Super easy-to-use remote for changing brightness, aspect, sound, sleep timer, etc. Just keep clicking & pointing to see what’s available.

This TV was so easy to set up & connect to the internet. It's super easy to navigate. I love that Sling, Amazon, Netflix, Hulu and YouTube are already on the TV. I have an antennae for local channels and stream everything else. Seriously so easy! If I can do it, anyone can!! The picture is great too, guess that's pretty important as well!

This TV is awesome, from the picture to the sound. It is easy to set up with the magic remote and all your favorite add ons are just a touch of a button away. You won't be sorry!

I love it. Picture is great. All the extra Channels you get with internet connection. Easy to set up. And the new Remote is awesome.

I don't usually like the color of most TV'S. In the past I really have only been happy with Samsung TV'S. At least to my eye they seem to be a bit brighter without sacrificing the color and picture. This LG is amazing. If you like settings and making them perfect for you then this is the perfect TV. In fact the only negative thing I can think of is that it is just a bit more difficult to get to settings then I feel like it should be. This is a great TV!

I returned the TV I had purchased less than 30 days prior. (I was replacing an older Samsung that took a lightning hit.) I returned the new TV because I could not get the picture crisp and bright without getting the Soap Opera Effect. I decided to go back to a Samsung TV, and give the QLED a go, and I couldn't be happier! This was not only super easy to set up, it is self adjusting for light or dark rooms. It is, by far, the best quality picture I have ever experienced!! (Best Buy was really great about the return too!)

So I bought this for my son's bedroom. I had originally bought him the 49 Samsung 7000 series, but returned this since there was such a great sale on it as well as the BB rep tucked me into it for some of the main reasons it would used for. My son would be mostly using this for gaming, YouTube & Netflix. Also let me say my review is based on my personal preference as my son was just happy to have a 4k TV with a great remote & the webOS which is very nice. Now for HDR Gaming, although HDR doesn't add much it has great video game performance. It has excellent low input lag even outside of game mode. The response time is excellent, and the screen reacts quickly to fast motion. I would say good performance for watching TV Shows in a bright room. It has great reflection handling & decent wide viewing angle, so it is best suited for some light in the room as I did not feel it got as bright as I would have liked it too like the Samsung or a Sony. Black levels will not match a Sony of course unless you get into LG's OLED line, so blacks tend to look a little gray but again not horrible by any means. Again my son loved this one more because of the low input lag for gaming and the remote is way better if not one of the best along with the webOS. This is also my first LG TV and so far I am happy as well as my son is too. Construction/fit & finish is really nice with more plastic then Sony or Samsung but again for the price point, bedroom TV and main things we needed it to do this is a great performing TV and would say to put it on your short list of 49 inch TV's to consider.

What can I say: Great Picture, Sound, and User Friendly! Still working great after a year of service.

I really like this TV a lot. I think for the price, you get a really good TV. The atmose sounds really great and The remote is awesome. All my TV I’ve been buying for the last five years have been Samsung. I really recommend the TV.

I intended to purchase a FireTV for my home office, and the sales person promoted this television. It was more expensive, but was worth every extra cent I spent on this television. It is an outstanding TV with fantastic picture quality. The wave remote is amazing. I am actually considering purchasing another one of these for a different room in the house.

Picked this TV up with my Dad, it wasn't what he wanted originally but this has turned out to be a great TV for their living room. As this was their first smart TV it is great because it has all the apps prebuilt my Mom uses and it works seamlessly with their cable (Though they still use the cable TV remote instead of the one LG provides). Price was reasonable, even if it is a little higher then what Samsung puts out.

A lifelike 3-D picture thanks to the Intelligent Processor. This is stunning 4K with improved contrast and rich color vs first attempts of 4K—colors display accurately. Outside scenic views are excellent.

Bought this TV as an open box deal that ended up costing me less than some of the much lower-end options on the market. The 4k on this TV is really crisp and the colors are very vibrant. My favorite feature however is the smart remote the shows a cursor on the screen to use for selecting options.

Compared to other 4K TVs on the market, in terms of price and functionality, this LG TV goes above and beyond what you would expect, delivering deep blacks, vivid colors, and great sound for internal speakers. It's a big upgrade from my previous TV while also being budget friendly given its size.

Picture is terrific. We bought this tv because the remote is voice activated but it is NOT compatible with spectrum t.v. service,so disappointed that we were not told this at time of purchase.

For reference I watched the Battle of Winterfell and missed nothing because I was able to adjust the picture. I'm not a particularly techie person so can't quote specifics, but this was easy to set up, the picture is amazing and with that wonderful base, the cats can't knock it over.
