Don’t buy an LG television or any other products

It displays the LG logo and their tag line “Life is good”. Is it? Spending around $500 and now it’s shot. Done with buying anything LG. Life is indeed good and it will now be better without any LG products in our household. Also had issues with our LG refrigerator. Tossed out $400 worth of food. It was repaired under the massive class action that the company’s back was up against the wall for tens of thousands of others.

Screen is too dark

We tried adjusting the brightness, contrast, colors, etc. nothing seemed to work. Ended up with the Samsung OLED and couldn’t be happier.

Bad tv, worse customer service

The tv is absolute garbage from a resolution standpoint (too hazy) and quality standpoint. I called best buy to see if they could help and I received the standard "it is beyond 30 days." Yeah 1 day! The only reason I purchased the tv from BB and not Amazon was the supposed customer service. Now I am stuck in the depths of manufacturer's warranty claim. I would not recommend LG or best buy to anyone.

Disappointment

It cuts off randomly and while watching apps the screen goes black at least 10 plus times a day, Even tried just using Firestick in HDMI port and it still goes in and out, Constantly wants to update. Also when you turn it on after being off all night you get a fuzzy green screen, It also will randomly switch from an app to live TV and vice versa. It's just so upsetting to have to spend all this money on a product that doesn't perform well.

Why I don’t buy Lg Products
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upon starting the TV up its a.i took control and refused any other options this so-called intelligent AI talked at warp speed did this TV come loaded with ADHD it made it impossible to understand and after disagreeing with one of the agreements to allow voice control the TV became stuck in a boot loop straight out of the box Junk ! LG still lacks performance , engineering and zero Quality Control waste of time

I got a lemon

Owned for 1 year when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Constantly loses connection with internet and fails to reconnect even though i have a direct wired connection and have SuddenLinks fastest service. Tried it on wifi and it does the same thing, just a little slower. Sometimes it refuses to power on. I have to unplug it and plug it back in and that doesn't always work. Constantly fighting with it just to get it to work. Would not buy again.

well worth the cost
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the 49SK8000 a couple of days ago and after setting it up and watching for a while I think it was a great purchase. Like most LG tv's (we have 3 others) the menus for adjustment are deep and about as detailed as anyone could want. The 49SK8000 is our first 'high-end' LG with it's Nano Cell screen and Dolby Atmos video and sound. It also features a 'local dimming' function. To this point I find this to be more distraction that an asset. Might be better left off or turned to the Low setting. This TV supports pretty much all HDR formats (HDR, HLG, HDR10, Dolby Atmos vision etc) so it should stay current for years. The sound again using Dolby Vision sound (can be enabled in Sound options on the menu) is good for the standard speaker. Aside from the Local dimming function this TV is pretty great and well worth a look, Best Buy currently is offering it at around 435.00 which to me is quite a deal. Well rated also by Consumer Reports, Rtings and many other reviews.

For 200$ less you can get a Samsung that’s 10” larger then this. don’t recommend

Great TV upgrade after 10 years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow , With the help of Rob. at the Oxford Valley store I felt I had made the right pick on a new Flat screen , I was looking at a few Samsungs in the same size range online and stop by the store with a few question and interests . Rob went over the different models and types and then show me this LG model with a lot upgrades I would not be getting my picks and remark it was on sale ( part of Black Friday sale ) and that help make the sale and one happy Customer . Love Best Buy ! Getting it home and setting up was easy and connecting to my cable company and router wifi . Even understanding the on screen menu and remote was easy for a old guy like me . The picture and sound is outstanding . I love how you can fine tune the picture , sound setting , Register it this morning . Thanks Best Buy you done it again. O yes you sold me my last TV and lot of other things over the years. I am not a online buying type of guy , I like to kick the tires as they say .

Wow so close what a real shame!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just bought the 49" SK8000 yesterday and there are many things i am really impressed with about it and i will get to these but first here is why this did not get 5 stars, IF this set had used a VA panel and had Full array local dimming it would be a 5 star set easily for the money! Unfortunately it has very poor local dimming and the Picture suffers from it. Blacks appear greyish and not deep black like they should and do on most VA panels. Now on to the great things about the set, Everything else! Seriously other than the backlighting and this using a IPS panel EVERYTHING else about the SK8000 is excellent. Things like Motion,Colors, Clarity, Smart features,the Remote are all excellent in my opinion. So like my title say's, LG was SO CLOSE with this set! I still do think it is a real good value on sale but i do not think i would buy it at it's normal price point,.

Problem with upscaling?

The setup was fairly easy, and the colors, contrast, sharpness, etc. were excellent. We particularly like the view from an angle as there is very little drop off of picture quality. The problem was in the slightly jagged edges visible when watching from the cable box. I'm not an expert, but it seems like the TV wasn't "upscaling" properly. I finally changed the cable box output resolution from 1080i to 720p, which smoothed out the edges in the picture. Even so, I feel like I'm not getting the full benefit of buying a UHD television. Did not have this problem with another UHD TV in another room.

Amazing

I went into the store to see all the TVs and this is the one that stood out to me in the store. It caught my attention. The sound is amazing and the picture is unbelievable. I got this on sale so the price point was perfect. The customer service was really honest and helpful. This is my first new tv in about ten years so an obvious upgrade. I’m very happy with my purchase!
