Best bang for your buck!!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really good TV at a really good price. One of the only tvs at this price range that offers Hdmi 2.1 to allow 4k at 120fps. Only downside is that it suffers from light bleed. During dark scenes if there are colored things (such as space in Star Wars) in the middle of the screen you can see a vertical stream of light shooting up and down. This is due to the edge lit backlight system the tv has. This is only noticeable in dark scenes and if you're looking for it. Once you are immersed in the content you forget about it. If you have the extra cash and would like to avoid this I would go for a full array backlight system or an oled tv. LG offers this same tv with such a full array system instead of the edge lit system (LG Nanocell 90 series). However, at this price range this is the best tv for gamers who are looking to make the most out of the next-gen consoles.

Great TV for next gen gaming.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome TV for next gen gaming. It is 4K, has 2 HDMI 2.1 ports and supports 120 Hz refresh rate. For the price and the size, nothing compares to this set. The only issue is it is Edge Lit LED and I'd prefer a Full array or Direct Lit set but again for the price this set was the best out there now.

Using as a PC monitor
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I planned to buy the new LG OLED to use as a PC monitor but I decided with my use case I didn't want to be worried about burn in. The LG Nano works great as a PC monitor, or as well as a TV can and it has the gaming features I need. To me the big down side of using a TV as a PC monitor is it doesn't sleep like a true computer monitor will. Not a big deal but it does mean you need to keep the remote nearby. The LG Nano does support for 4K at 120 hertz so it is ready for the new PC graphic cards and consoles expected to be released in the coming months. In my use case I have desktop windows open all day and that was the main reason I didn't go with the OLED. Also, the Nano is quite a bit less expensive and there is going to be a lot of new TV technology coming out over the next two years. I will revisit my need then but for now this is working just fine. I am fine with the image quality except for HDR. It doesn't have the pop of the more expensive TVs but HDR on the PC still needs a bit of work so I am fine with waiting. If you want a 4K monitor and don't mind using a TV this is a good option. If you must have the very best image available then get the OLED

Amazing for Next Gen
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV while it was on sale prior to Black Friday for $499. My favorite investment ever! This is my first 4K TV ever and it has made the leap so drastic with my PS5 with 4K 120 HZ features. It looks so good and sounds great with a sound bar. If you are on a budget like I was, this TV is amazing!!

Great 4k Picture and Mouse Control
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I enjoy my LG NanoCell 4k TV. I like how LG incorporate their mouse and voice technology into a smart remote and LG channels. The picture quality is excellent and pairs well with my 5.1.2 surround sound system setup in my bedroom.

Great for gaming
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great image quality, by far the cheapest 120hz display on the market. Great for Xbox series x and ps5 for 120fps at 4K. The local diming isn’t oled quality but for only 600 and with the hdmi 2.1 support it’s the best for the price.

As I write tis review this is the best gaming TV
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I buy a handful of TV's every year, build a couple gaming PC's. This TV has freesync, 120hz, and hdmi 2.1. All that for $650 is a steal. I prefer VA panels but IPS is not a deal breaker. In the PC world you pay allot more for a IPS monitor. My only issue is in game mode the picture gets too dark. I am able to tweak it but I am hoping it gets improved with a update. Not going to knock a star off as I am as fussy as it gets and I like my TV's and color to pop even if its not realistic.

Excellent TV for small room and/or 2nd monitor/TV
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV has a great screen! It's small enough that 1080p doesn't look pixelated and 4K is simply amazing! HDR leaves something to be desired due to the edge-screen backlighting, but it doesn't suck. It's not as intuitive as it could be. If you press the correct button an the remote you get a short-lived menu of "Web OS" apps or some something that I am sure someone who cares can navigate through and get used to... And for sure, it does make sense to use the network connected Youtube app vs the cable-box version, so... It's IPS 4k @ 120hz and eARC capable! BUT you do need a box or video card that can take advantage of that..... Bottom Line: Great TV for the price, especially if you can't go bigger, or just don't want to, and it's as capable as a monitor as my 24" LG IPS, so WIN!

Shows Look Live
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife and I had been considering buying a new television for a couple of months to replace our 8 year old 40” model. Our son, who knows much more about modern technology than both of us put together, had purchased an LG before Christmas and loves his. We wanted a larger set and Best Buy’s app helped us determine what size fit our space. We settled on this 55” LG Nanocell. Oh, my goodness. We were not ready for the high quality of the picture. Most of the shows look like they are live. We’re still learning all the features it has to offer. It was heady to set up. Easy to attach to the wall mount. And the Magic Remote is wonderful to use. We’re looking forward to our son coming home for a visit to show us even more features that we haven’t discovered yet.

Great gaming tv on a budget
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is great if you want the cheapest entry point for next gen gaming on the Xbox series x and ps5. This TV supports 4k and 120fps, a low input lag, freesync, and all the other gaming bells and whistles. At this price point you are sacrificing dark room picture quality. Others claim this TV has poor hdr and doesn't get bright enough, but coming from a 2012 720p tv, this is a huge improvement and I can't really tell. Since I will primarily use this tv for gaming and was on a budget this was a great upgrade for me. If you are a cinephile who loves the best picture quality and still wants the best gaming experience then maybe look at the Samsung Q80T.

Incredible Bang for the Buck
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this TV for use as a computer monitor for a second home office. There are very few 4k TVs that are capable of displaying at 120htz (hey, you sometimes need to play a little Call of Duty when you're between projects). I use an 48" LG CX OLED TV as my PC monitor at my primary home office, and it's as good as good can get. The thing is, the NanoCell 85 is very very nearly as nice -- for about 1/3 the price of the CX. The bang for the buck with this TV is just unbelievable. Highest possible recommendation if you don't want to spring for a CX.

Love it
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unbeatable price for having 120hz refresh and 2 HDMI 2.1 ports. Game and movies look wonderful on it. Sometimes the darks are a little too dark but all In all, I love this thing. Definitely recommend.

LG 49NANO85
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent in well-lit rooms. Love how the AI ThinQ automatically adjusts the picture settings depending on input, as well as what is being watched. For instance, Netflix has Dolby Vision quality films as well as HDR, and the tv will recognize if it has one or the other and automatically changes the settings. When my Playstation is turned on, it will pop up with the input to select it instead of going through the menu. The simple things make this one of the best TVs I own. Value was unbeatable, under $400 on sale for native 120hz 4K with HDMI 2.1 ports. Perfect for PS5. (Still ISO) Also, with the exception of the bottom edge, the frame profile of this tv is remarkably thin. A+

Great TV!!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start with, I was a diehard Samsung TV customer for years. I decided to go outside the box after a friend purchased the Nano 9, 55 inch, and I was really impressed. After shopping and researching the brands, I bought the Nano 9, and was so impressed, we finally upgraded our old bedroom TV with this 49 inch Nano 85. It's just as impressive!!! LG has stepped up its game with the NanoCell technology. I think the picture quality is as good, and even better than some OLED, and Samsung QLED units that cost substantially more. If you're looking for a great, user friendly, and all around awesome smart TV without breaking the bank, the LG NanoCell is definitely the best bang for your buck!!!

Great TV for my ps5
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best TV I had. Got it on black Friday. I got the ps5 so I can see the difference in quality from upgrading from a 1080p to this. Also it has different settings for volume and picture. I mainly use the gaming picture setting and sound setting. Whats cool about it if I switch to Netflix or another streaming app, the built in AI automatically changes the settings for me. When I turn off the ps5 and I dont feel like getting up, the AI triggers a command after a few seconds to turn off the tv. If i turn on the tv it will also automatically turn on my ps5 which is really cool. Its easy to use. There is a delay when pressing commands but thats expected from all tvs.

A Solid Alternative!!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.VERY excellent in rooms that take in sunlight....as in basically any room with windows, which is an environment where OLEDs don't do well. For not having the "true blacks" OLED provides, the colors are still very deep and pop beautifully. It is also a true 120hz panel @ 4K and can be utilized by gaming on a beefy GPU with no issues. Only downside is the lack of "true" blacks that can only be obtained by OLED, but you will need to pay twice the price and have the right environment for that anyway, so I'd say this is a strong alternative. I love my OLED, but I feel like NanoCell is the better bargain, as well as the more versatile option.

Great picture! Edge lit downfall
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great picture when it comes to bright and colorful scenes however on the darker screens the edge lit display all but almost ruins the moment due to being able to see every light. However if you wanted a good starter next green tv this is the way to go! HDR, along with game mode is great for next gen gaming even watching films were good besides the edge lit issue. Remote is fun and intuitive it’s almost like buying a wii tv in a way. Definitely not as hard to use as some ppl might express all in all a decent tv there are better TVs out for next gen however

Possibly the best TV at that price point.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great mid-level TV. Solid picture, breathtaking under the right circumstances. Not on a par with top-line OLED screens, but considerably better than the entry-level models. I'm not sure you could do better for its size and price. Unlike other LG TVs I've used in the past, the level of control over every aspect of the picture is quite extensive, so you can do really granular fine-tuning. Of course, that level of control may also be a daunting to casual users, as the menu choices are lengthy and not very intuitive. So, it's great if you know what you're doing, but the manual and built-in user guide aren't much help to anyone not already familiar with the functions.
