Better picture than old player

My mom said the picture looked much better with the LG player! I think they would have kept it, if we could have worked around one thing: turning on subtitles easily. The old Sony has a button on the remote labeled "Subtitle" which my hard-of-hearing dad could press to immediately see the subtitles. The LG had a similar button named "Caption" which I thought would be the same. Wrong. Being a techie, I spent a few hours researching the big technical differences between subtitles and close captions. We eventually found the subtitle settings in the on-screen menus, but it was just too inconvenient for my elderly parents. The LG player didn't seem to consistently remember the caption settings either, so unfortunately, it went back to the store.

After much searching and consideration I went with this one. I do not regret this purchase. The price was fair. It works great. Plays dvd, blu ray and 4k discs. No need for another player.

Great Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Player

Very easy to hook up to TV and Surround sound system, but very important that you hook it up exactly as it says for best sound quality if running through a home theater system. Recommend purchasing high quality 4KHDMI cables for the best results. Great value for the price.

Call me crazy but I have a 77inch LG OLED tv do you just expect perfection. I also have a 9.5 surround sound system so I am definitely a movie buff. I sold the Xbox and bought this 4K player and have been more than please ever since....
