Customers are saying

Customers are pleased with the large capacity, excellent cleaning performance, quiet operation, and ease of use of the 5.0 Cu. Ft. 14-Cycle High-Efficiency Steam Top-Loading Washer. Positive feedback also highlights the spacious tub size. While some users noted a musty smell and occasional reliability issues, these concerns were less frequently reported than the positive aspects.

It is easy to use. I had to get used to the idea of "High Efficiency." It does not use much water. I started out not reading the manual. Thankfully my wife did. Once I started following the directions as to the method of adding detergent it worked better. I was adding dry detergent to the load in the tub rather than in the "add detergent here" box, and I was adding too much. So, following the directions helps. It uses so much less water and detergent and does a great job cleaning my clothes. I am impressed. I love the happy little tune it plays when the load is done. It has successfully washed our king size comforter, great job, and has passed the test of dirty jeans from my current roofing job (it does not get much grimier). I am pleased.

Lots of different settings; very quiet and cleans well. LARGE, deep tub; shorter people may need stool to reach in to get clothes out. Able to wash bulkier items (comforters, pillows, blankets, etc). Spins clothes very well. Con: (Soaking) Empties tub after a while so if you want to soak something for a few hours, may be better to use a bucket

The extra large capacity allows us to do a weeks worth of laundry for 5 in one load. This washer is extremely quiet and energy efficient, saving us on the cost of opperating compared to previous washers.

This washer is exactly what I wanted. It cleans clothes very well. I have had a front loader in the past and think front loaders clean clothes better than any top loader. However, due to my home setup, I needed a top loader. This machine cleans better than any other top loader I have had. It is quiet and easy to use.

I love my new washer!!! The washers capacity allows you to reduce your laundry trips by half. I hated doing laundry before and now it is not such a daunting task. We are a family of 4, but with all the sports and work clothes we dirty clothes like a family of 8. Our new washer has made it easier to throw everything in one load. The clothes comes out smelling fresh and clean. The best part is that the motor is so quiet, I forget that I am washing laundry until I hear it chime.

I did quite a bit of research on HE Top-Load washers before making the decision to buy one. Our repairman had recommended the Whirlpool Cabrio but in reading reviews on the machine, many complained of various reliability and quality problems. I checked out other models such as Samsung's and LG's and saw similar reviews on them complaining about quality issues, including this LG machine. It seemed many people didn't understand that the machine requires the use of HE detergent and that for best results you need to load heavier items first, etc. After about one month with our machine, I am very impressed in the way it operates and cleans our clothes. My previous machine was a 1980's vintage Maytag top-loader so I was accustomed to adjusting the water setting to cover the clothes and then some. WIth this HE machine, the load starts off with what seems like insufficient water but as the cycle progresses, more water is added and it seems like the amount of water is sufficient. Enabling the Extra Water function will add enough water so that mid-cycle the clothes are completely submerged in water. I typically run the machine this way only because of the old way I did laundry but I don't think it is absolutely necessary to do so with most loads. The drum stays balanced, turbo-wash cuts down the wash time without sacrificing cleaning quality, the machine is fairly quiet and it is beautifully constructed. The spin cycle really gets the water out so that drying cycles are shorter than I'm used to. There are a variety of pre-programmed cycles it can run but things like water temperature and spin speed are selectable. Only time will tell if it is as durable as my Maytag was, but for now, I'm pleased with how it washes and that it is very energy and water efficient.

I had a front loader, but went to a top load machine due to the smell you can't get rid of with a front loader plus the issue of mold building up in the rubber gasket. With this machine you can soak clothes which you can't do with a front loader. It measures your load so it doesn't waste water. There's no smell and you can close the top.. unlike the front loader we had to leave the door open to. the only thing we weren't happy with is Best Buy delivery policy. We asked three times to have a different delivery time. The salesman told us when we bought the machine that their delivery guys were really cool and if you just let them know you can't be there early, they'll work with you. SO NOT the case. We have bought every appliance, tv, game systems.. surround sound.. everything that plugs in from Best Buy and weren't happy they wouldn't work with us on getting a later delivery time. We tried 3X!

    Huge tub

By far this washer has the biggest tub I've ever seen. There is only two of us living in our house (my Wife and I) but we tend to only do laundry when we have to and it happens when we have a lot of clothes that need washed. With our old washer we used to have to do a few loads (up to 3) to accommodate all of the clothes but with this one we have yet to give it a true full load. we have washed our bedding with this one and are able to wash all of the sheets, comforter and even a thick blanket in one load. Simply put we can't fill this washer with what we've put in it. I have to admit all the wash cycles takes time to get used to but once you figure out what works for the load you're doing it works great. I also love that it have a dedicated tub cleaning cycle that works great too. We picked this washer because of the large tub size not because of brand but after having LG now for a few month I doubt I would pick another brand, it simply just works great. It does it's job, and it does it's job well. Recommended highly from me and my wife if you have large load laundry to do.

Purchased this new LG washer and I couldn't be happier. I had an older Maytag that had been giving me trouble for some time. Moved from a front load to a top load. I'm very impressed with the numerous washing options this machine has, but even more impressed with the tub capacity. For the first time I can wash my comforter without taking it to the laundry mat. The washer uses very little water and is much quieter than one it replaces. I've had a LG steam dryer for over a year, and it has worked flawlessly. I'm very impressed with this product, and LG large appliances in general.

So, so happy to have dumped the smelly front loader we had. After 5 years and trying many things, the smell was not going away. I was skeptical of top load reviews I was reading and wasn't sure what to do. This LG had the best reviews and most consistent praises. I love it. It's easy to use, gets clothes clean, decides itself how much water to use and I have not had any item not get wet. The tub is deep but not unmanageable. Holds lots of laundry. I guess we will see if it all holds true in 5 years but could not be happier for now.

This machine cleans my clothes very nicely and in the time it shows when you start your load.I will never buy a front loader again due to smell and it always took almost twice as long as the machine posted and it wreaked despite the special cleaners and leaving the door open. This machine spins so fast it really cuts down on the drying time and I do half the amount of loads due to its size.Awesome machine

I've never enjoyed washing clothes as much as I do now with this washer and dryer set. I can fit a king comforter as as as sheets and pillow cases, I can steam wash and sanitize my washed items. The clothes come out cleaner as I'm able to see a difference in that they come out with a brighter color. I don't know that I'll ever be able to use a "lesser" washer again. Good job LG!

My old washer burned as smoke was coming out of my laundry room when my seven year pld detected the smoking smell and alerted my husband. We replaced it with this LG and the capacity is four times the old one. Now I only have to do laundry once a week. It's heavenly easy laundry tasks with this ultra big machine with five little children.

This LG washer replaces our old Whirlpool Cabrio. What a difference. This is by far the most energy efficient washer we have owned. The clothes with the steam and other advanced options comes out looking like theu are brand new, The turbo cyce ensures a very fast but yet very effective way to wash your clothes in a hurry. This is also a very well insulated and quiet washer.

ThIs washer has a very large capacity that offers many options of cycles that fits every type of garment. It uses a lot less water and detergent than any other washer I had before but provides better cleaning results. Despite the vibration in the spin cycle, it is relatively quiet . It is also very easy to set up once you read the instructions.
