Hi, Anon. Thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand your concern about dealing with water leaks and drying issues on the LG Wash Combo (WM6998HBA) model. We strive to provide reliable, high-quality products and ensure a smooth and seamless experience. For the water leak, we recommend checking the door seal to ensure it's fully intact and clean, as any gaps or dirt can lead to leaks during the wash cycle. As for the drying issue, if you’re using the steam or drying settings, try adjusting the load size and balance, as this can sometimes affect drying performance. Love my LG All-In-One Laundry machine!!!

Having done extensive research prior to purchase, I felt prepared to make the transition to this highly energy efficient washer dryer combo. My apartment doesn’t have 220v available for vented dryers, nor vents and is quite small already, so an all-in-one ventless design that plugs into 110v is very appealing.
Per all the research & reading / watching reviews, I know to clean out all the lint every cycle and drain any water in the condenser reservoir. The dryer acts like a dehumidifier and removes water through the drain hose as well as a reservoir that catches the cooled steam water. Just like the reviews say, the clothes are slightly damp but a literal **shake** and the dampness evaporates. Not hot, arid, crispy-dry like vented 220v heated dryers, but the $aving$ in energy bills is well worth it to me, and I'm thinking of getting a small drying rack. The ease of washing / drying is a dream come true. I add detergent into the reservoir and the machine uses as much as the load needs. I ran 3/8" DISHWASHER lines from under my kitchen sink for the Hot / Cold water intake with T-splitter adapters and it works GREAT!
We wash a lot of laundry with a big family and small children and hairy dog. I think I'm going to shake the extra dust / dirt out before washing just to be kinder to the machine, but the clothes go in dirty and come out clean and dry. If still too damp, I run dry cycle again or don't load so full. I am looking forward to many happy years of laundry ease with this lovely machine.

This is bigger and faster than previous combo units. Has a detergent reservoir, too, so you don't have to pour a shot each time. The app works, it's quiet, very efficient - I'm impressed. It doesn't dry like a gas dryer, but IMO not having to transfer more than offsets that.

The washer and dryer combo is nice for saving space and for a small household the abilities are good enough. Only had trouble drying our comforter fully in one session, needed to dry it twice. Clothes and sheets and towels get clean and it does not heat your laundry as hot as usual dryer which will extend the life of your clothes.

First few months i was in love with it! The app syncs and works well plus has cool features. My biggest critique clothes is still a little wet/damp and I’ll have to throw it in another dry cycle. I’m not loading more than half! I will also say you do have to upkeep and stick with the maintenance on time… clean the lint filter after 1-2 cycles and empty the drain pump once a month as well as a tub clean. I’ve had mine for ten months and have recently had a bad build up of lint (wasn’t cleaning it out as I should of), after doing a few days/weeks of digging on Reddit and LG related help that I could find. I found that the condenser filter gets buildup as well. They made a new part for that piece that’s suppose to work better and help with lint, and since I bought before Jan 31 2025 I get it free! I would have liked a longer drain hose for the drain pump and more instructions or trouble shooting advice on the pamphlet it came with, there is lots of guidance and general knowledge on the app and online for those wondering. Overall good product, I like it better than the older version of the LG 2 and 1 washer dryer combo.

No regrets so far! This machine works really well for me. I do all our laundry (4 people family) over the weekends. Usually 2 loads per day during daytime and I always do the heavier loads (towels and bedding) over night. All loads run during the hours when our electricity rate is the cheapest. So far, never had any issues. Yes, sure drying times are quite long for heavy items, but I have never woke up to unfinished loads. And, honestly, I almost never take damp or moist items out of the machine. Exceptions being very heavy and thick blankets or duvets, which I just leave outside to air dry for a few minutes.
Only con imo is the maintenance. You need to clean the mesh filter after every load, which is easy. But after every 30 loads, after running the Tube Clean cycle, I have to disassemble a piece of the filter housing to do a through cleaning, including the fins on the evaporator, which always accumulate some lint. The advertised “self cleaning” is poorly designed and doesn’t really do anything. But other than that, this machine works very well for my use case.
I would give it 5 stars if the mesh filter was more efficective in preventing lint from passing through into the coils and the “self cleaning” solution actually worked.

This is a nice machine, getting used to it, but it does take a little longer to dry sometimes. And I have pets, it doesn’t really catch the fur on clothes, come out needing to use a lint brush to clean it. But I do like that I put the clothes in and it does everything on its own. And it’s a lot smaller that the last stackable I had. And it uses less power which saves money

Two months into use and this thing is perfect. No more moving laundry from washer to dryer. No more planning your life around when the washer will finish so you clothes don't sit around wet.
I was hesitant to buy this given the mixed reviews, we could not be happier with it. Hands down one of the best purchases we've ever made.
The folks who are having problems with it, are likely not following instruction. We purchased an open box and immediately realized why someone returned it. They were not cleaning the filter every time and some lint gets past the filter into the coils. Removed a few screws and cleaned the coils and it's been perfect since the first use. We go clean the filter and every 10 washers or so, we rinse the filter in hot water.
Using 110v instead of 220v saves electricity. Not having to deal with cleaning the dryer vent is a huge plus.
We recommend this 10 out of 10! We love it so much that we are considering getting another one.

I’ve owned the washer/dryer combo now for 6 months. I’m in love. I had issues with drying and some water leaking. This was a user error and Not a product problem. Customer service was fantastic. They walked me through a check off list as to what could be the issue. I wasn’t rinsing the strainer thing on top. Worked perfect after that. It’s easy to clean. I’m not finding issues with my clothes feeling damp and I don’t feel dry time is long. The unit will give you reminders for maintenance, which is nice so everything will continue to work properly. Love how compact everything is, while still being able to wash a super fluffy comforter or large load of towels without any issues. I have not linked this to my phone and tried any of it’s features

I was hesitant about an all-in-one washer/dryer at first, but this LG has completely won me over. It’s quiet enough to run at night in an apartment, the 5 cu. ft. drum is spacious (I can throw in bedding without cramming), and the ventless heat pump actually does a solid job drying without overheating fabrics. It takes a little longer than a separate dryer, but the trade-off is worth it since I don’t have to move clothes between machines. The app controls are handy, but honestly I just set it and forget it. Overall, it’s efficient, easy to use, and looks great in black steel.

Used 5 times and I was disappointed already after first 3. First wash was undies and bras, no problem. Second wash terrible. Machine seems to be working well. It does take a long time to dry but it dries well. My problem is that the lint trap never has lint in it. The lint is all over my door and gaskets. It is hard to clean it from inside, lifting the gaskets up and getting inside. I am afraid they will get out of shape or tear. And DO NOT dry anything even a little fuzzy. I dryed two pairs of lightly fleece lined sweatpants along with a few other items and the lint was so bad that it was hanging from the top of the gaskets I couldn't even get my clothes out without touching it. I had to pull the clothes out one at a time to avoid hitting the top. The gaskets were full inside and out of pinkish purplish lint so I know where it came from. Lint trap had a small line of lint in it. Took me literally 45 minutes to clean it. I washed my cotton sheets next and there was lint on door and gaskets again. Sheets? They should not have lint. I believe the lint was from previous wash hiding where I could not see it and came to surface when I did wash again. It was much less but still, should not have been. Needs improvement!

Hi DJDan. Thank you for leaving us your feedback on the ENERGY STAR® Certified LG Ventless Washer/Dryer Combo LG WashCombo™ All-in-One 5.0 cu. Ft. Mega Capacity with Inverter HeatPump™ Technology and Direct Drive Motor, Model # WM6998HBA. Unlike a conventional washer, where the lint remains on your clothes after the wash cycle ends, and you transfer the clothes to a stand-alone dryer where the lint is caught in the dryer's lint filter, in Washer/Dryer Combo units, there is no transfer of loads since both the wash and dry cycles are performed in the same tub. We highly recommend cleaning the ezLintFilter and any visible lint in the gasket after every cycle. Should you need any further assistance with this, please do not hesitate to contact us on social media using our handle @LGUSSUPPORT...^Ivan.

AI and LGThin Q takes over the Laundry

First there is Siri and Alexa, then we get chatgpt4 with google AI with Baird and Microsoft copilot. Now LG Electronics comes out with an AI enabled combo washer and dryer. Yes, washer and dryer with a heat pump to eliminate the dryer vent.
I wasn’t able to get into the manual before my wife had it connect to the LG app on her iPhone and changing the settings and starting a wash.
I read that on larger loads it does take a little longer to dry than a traditional dryer and they are right. But my wife runs it when she goes to work and it’s done when I come home.
I have been around a lot of innovation projects at some large companies and LG has really pushed the envelope on this unit.
It senses your loads and identifies how dirty the clothes are and then takes care of the rest with the AI Wash and Dry setting. If you don’t trust the AI to take over your washing duties yet, then select from 15 other wash cycles. We decided to let it take over the duties.
From the auto detergent and softener dispenser to the ventless design and top lint collector, they have simplified the laundry process for me and my family.
Not to forget the little brother unit (underneath) that I also picked up. The #LGSideKickPedestalWasher. My wife and girls like it for washing smaller loads and their undergarments that need a little more TLC or just need to be air dried.
As my wife said, Life is Good

This replaces a Kenmore washer dryer combo so I was used to the longer drying times. It does a fairly decent job. There are probably only one or two things that I’m not a fan of for instance the Wi-Fi I really could care less about the Wi-Fi capabilities. The only problem is some of the features Don’t work unless it’s connected to Wi-Fi which kind of sucks but overall it’s a pretty good unit so far. And because I don’t have a ventilation system in my wash closet that’s really the only other reason why I purchased this. I needed a ventless dryer and there wasn’t room for a separate washer and a dryer. so it serves his purpose.

No frills review: it washes fine, but even with a tiny load it will take multiple drying cycles to dry your clothes. If you have pets, like other reviewers have suggested do not get this machine as you will have to clean the outer rubber ring every single use otherwise hair will accumulate, clog the filter and break the seal causing the machine to leak a bit until you clean it. I am maticulas cleaning this machine and also making sure i clean rhe tub per recommendstions but none of it matters. Also if your clothes are damp and air dry they sometimes have a terrible smell. You will also have to bend down after every use to drain the machine. Im sorry but i should have went with GE or Samsung. To pay 2k foe a machine that works so so is an embarrassment and rhis is coming from a man who has LG Mini Splits and an LG oled TV.
