This is a nice machine, getting used to it, but it does take a little longer to dry sometimes. And I have pets, it doesn’t really catch the fur on clothes, come out needing to use a lint brush to clean it. But I do like that I put the clothes in and it does everything on its own. And it’s a lot smaller that the last stackable I had. And it uses less power which saves money

Lint trap does not work on mine.

Used 5 times and I was disappointed already after first 3. First wash was undies and bras, no problem. Second wash terrible. Machine seems to be working well. It does take a long time to dry but it dries well. My problem is that the lint trap never has lint in it. The lint is all over my door and gaskets. It is hard to clean it from inside, lifting the gaskets up and getting inside. I am afraid they will get out of shape or tear. And DO NOT dry anything even a little fuzzy. I dryed two pairs of lightly fleece lined sweatpants along with a few other items and the lint was so bad that it was hanging from the top of the gaskets I couldn't even get my clothes out without touching it. I had to pull the clothes out one at a time to avoid hitting the top. The gaskets were full inside and out of pinkish purplish lint so I know where it came from. Lint trap had a small line of lint in it. Took me literally 45 minutes to clean it. I washed my cotton sheets next and there was lint on door and gaskets again. Sheets? They should not have lint. I believe the lint was from previous wash hiding where I could not see it and came to surface when I did wash again. It was much less but still, should not have been. Needs improvement!

      Hi DJDan.
Thank you for leaving us your feedback on the ENERGY STAR® Certified LG Ventless Washer/Dryer Combo LG WashCombo™ All-in-One 5.0 cu. Ft. Mega Capacity with Inverter HeatPump™ Technology and Direct Drive Motor, Model # WM6998HBA.
Unlike a conventional washer, where the lint remains on your clothes after the wash cycle ends, and you transfer the clothes to a stand-alone dryer where the lint is caught in the dryer's lint filter, in Washer/Dryer Combo units, there is no transfer of loads since both the wash and dry cycles are performed in the same tub.
We highly recommend cleaning the ezLintFilter and any visible lint in the gasket after every cycle.

AI and LGThin Q takes over the Laundry

First there is Siri and Alexa, then we get chatgpt4 with google AI with Baird and Microsoft copilot. Now LG Electronics comes out with an AI enabled combo washer and dryer. Yes, washer and dryer with a heat pump to eliminate the dryer vent. I wasn’t able to get into the manual before my wife had it connect to the LG app on her iPhone and changing the settings and starting a wash. I read that on larger loads it does take a little longer to dry than a traditional dryer and they are right. But my wife runs it when she goes to work and it’s done when I come home. I have been around a lot of innovation projects at some large companies and LG has really pushed the envelope on this unit. It senses your loads and identifies how dirty the clothes are and then takes care of the rest with the AI Wash and Dry setting. If you don’t trust the AI to take over your washing duties yet, then select from 15 other wash cycles. We decided to let it take over the duties. From the auto detergent and softener dispenser to the ventless design and top lint collector, they have simplified the laundry process for me and my family. Not to forget the little brother unit (underneath) that I also picked up. The #LGSideKickPedestalWasher. My wife and girls like it for washing smaller loads and their undergarments that need a little more TLC or just need to be air dried. As my wife said, Life is Good

I was hesitant about an all-in-one washer/dryer at first, but this LG has completely won me over. It’s quiet enough to run at night in an apartment, the 5 cu. ft. drum is spacious (I can throw in bedding without cramming), and the ventless heat pump actually does a solid job drying without overheating fabrics. It takes a little longer than a separate dryer, but the trade-off is worth it since I don’t have to move clothes between machines. The app controls are handy, but honestly I just set it and forget it. Overall, it’s efficient, easy to use, and looks great in black steel.

I'm not much for leaving reviews, so when I do leave them they are either glowing, to let you know that you should most certainly have this item in your home, or a warning to hopefully prevent you from making the same mistake we did. This is the latter - don't buy this. I have the machine 2 stars, one for the pleasing aesthetic - it does look nice. It also stores soap and fabric softener in the machine, so it'll only need to be filled up every month or so. The other star is for the app - connecting to the app makes is so easy to restart a load and the alert the second the cycle is done is very helpful (the follow up reminder 10 mins later is kind of a pain, however). This is where the positive part ends and the reasons to avoid purchasing this very expensive machine come in. If you buy this unit, be prepared to perform more maintenance on a washer than you'll have ever done in your entire life. Unless you're a professional working on washing machines, this will be a tremendous pain to deal with. EVERY SINGLE LOAD the machine needs to be completely cleared of lint and debris. Any missed will end up in a secondary filter we found out about when we had a tch come out the 3rd week after the unit was delivered because every load was taking 3 - 6(!) hours to dry. What we found out from the LG Tech is that if the unit is not drying properly, we have to unscrew a screw at the top and manually clean the drying unit at the top. I forgot to do this part this week and today after drying SHEETS ONLY for 5 hours and still having them wet (not damp) and then remembered to perform this fun extra step your sales rep won't know to tell you about (they probably could not find the screw needed to open to find this part, it's hidden well). We were excited for the AI built into this until. Let the unit detect and manage the load. Big deal. It is nothing more than an auto cycle on a dishwasher. We also thought it would be amazing to set a wash/dry cycle and leave, coming home to a finished laundry cycle and nice dry clothes, ready to put away. Nope. You can't get a fabric softener sheet in the machine on this cycle and it REQUIRES a sheet of the lint gets out of hand in record time. So if you use the AI cycle, you'll have to be home to stop it at some point and add a dryer sheet. Or, just do what we do, and add the sheet when you have to run the Dry only cycle because the clothes are practically (85% of the time) not dry on one load. The machine took a good 25 washes to get the "new washer smell" out of all our clothes. We use the little softener balls in the wash cycle, didn't help. So for the first month, every load came out smelling fairly UNclean. I called and spoke to LG about this and was told this is fairly standard for this unit. I had a stackable unit from LG before this all-in-one unit. It was fantastic, 5 stars. I deeply regret wasting all the money on this thing and would go back in time to talk myself out of purchasing this if I could. I don't like all the time I spend trying to keep the machine 100% clean and lint free in order for our clothes to dry in 2+ hours. (By the way, even a normal wash/dry of sheets, the dry cycle won't have sheets dry in less than 2.5 hours. Do yourself a favor and wait til they get the technology right. It's not there on this one just yet.

Hello there, GarethA. Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback about your LG WM6998HVA all-in-one washer/dryer. We understand your concerns regarding the maintenance and drying performance of the unit. We want to ensure you're getting the best experience with your machine, so we suggest the following steps:

Be sure to clean the lint and debris after each load to prevent buildup in the secondary filter.
If you’re still experiencing drying issues, it may help to check that the drying unit at the top is clean by unscrewing and inspecting it, as this is a key step in keeping the dryer functioning properly.

This machine is extremely efficient. A medium large load of towels only uses about 2 kWh to wash and dry! And it's not sucking out my air conditioned air and blowing it out of the dryer vent. I'd say that the manufacturer should advertise about 2½-3 hours to wash and dry a normal load of clothes. The first one I received had a couple of glitches, like it tripped the breaker once when turning the compressor on, and something rattled inside of it constantly when the compressor was on. The new one is much quieter. Very quiet during the wash cycle. Clothes come out extremely clean. Rinses excellently! Clothes come out completely dry. The various cycles are pretty much overwhelming, but it is not hard to adjust what shows up. I hate the dispensers because it's just something else to break in the future, and you can't load two different detergents in them. I hate fabric softeners because of their slimy film, but I like the detergent with built in fabric softeners for my towels and sheets. Hopefully it receives a software update that allows you to choose. The machine is gonna require some coil cleaning maintenance, but I don't have a dryer plug or vent in my home, so this was the easiest option! I hope the machine lasts a very long time. I'm sure the washer part will last forever - the dryer part has me worried...but the compressor is an inverter, and I would think the 10 year inverter motor warranty should cover it too. Hopefully it will not be a problem for a long time. Still, I love it, but I'd go with a separate machines with heat pump dryer if I had a dryer plug.

This replaces a Kenmore washer dryer combo so I was used to the longer drying times. It does a fairly decent job. There are probably only one or two things that I’m not a fan of for instance the Wi-Fi I really could care less about the Wi-Fi capabilities. The only problem is some of the features Don’t work unless it’s connected to Wi-Fi which kind of sucks but overall it’s a pretty good unit so far. And because I don’t have a ventilation system in my wash closet that’s really the only other reason why I purchased this. I needed a ventless dryer and there wasn’t room for a separate washer and a dryer. so it serves his purpose.

I love my new washer/dryer combo! I have been looking at them for years waiting for the manufacturers to work out all the bugs. I would not recommend this for a family as it does take a bit longer due to the ventless inverter heat pump. I live alone so it is perfect! I have found that the clothes are dry prior to the scheduled drying time, so it may say an hour and 20 minutes but the clothes are dry in 30 to 45 minutes. With that said, I am not one to over pack my loads. I did wash a comforter yesterday and it cleaned it perfectly and again was dry before setting. I did my research and LG is the frontrunner for all-in one electric washer/dryer combos.

Personally, Very convenient. Not for large families. I have an injury that makes switching wash painful. Family of 3. Does require lint trap and rubber seal to be wiped clean from lint after each use to avoid future issues . I would not have liked it when my family was large and kids in sports. Loads can take long depending on settings. I do have 3 dogs and laundry is frresh, clean and dry.

No frills review: it washes fine, but even with a tiny load it will take multiple drying cycles to dry your clothes. If you have pets, like other reviewers have suggested do not get this machine as you will have to clean the outer rubber ring every single use otherwise hair will accumulate, clog the filter and break the seal causing the machine to leak a bit until you clean it. I am maticulas cleaning this machine and also making sure i clean rhe tub per recommendstions but none of it matters. Also if your clothes are damp and air dry they sometimes have a terrible smell. You will also have to bend down after every use to drain the machine. Im sorry but i should have went with GE or Samsung. To pay 2k foe a machine that works so so is an embarrassment and rhis is coming from a man who has LG Mini Splits and an LG oled TV.

Washing machine works great. Drying takes longer but understandable since it runs on 120v and is ventless. Like how quiet it is. Had a litte issue with the lint filter getting stuck but was able to solve the issue. Wife likes the app to check the laundry and machine status. The unit took a little homework before use.

I really like this dishwasher overall. It cleans dishes really well and dries them almost perfectly—no puddles, barely any spots, and rarely any leftover food. The only issue I have is loading it—I still haven’t figured out the best way to arrange everything, but that might just be me. The only real downside is that even the quickest cycle takes at least 2 hours to fully wash and dry, which feels long sometimes. Still, it does an excellent job and makes life a lot easier.

This unit works great, until it doesn't. We purchased this until in March of 2024. About two weeks after delivery the hot water connection began leaking. LG sent out a subcontractor tech person and he replaced the plastic valve. After this repair, the machine never worked quit the same with drying times taking about 30 minutes longer. We thought that maybe the machine was adjusted and this was normal. It washes and drys quite well, but it's not the dry you are used to getting with a normal dryer. For us, a towel wash/dry cycle was about 3.5 hours and sometimes we would have to add an extra 30 minutes to the dry cycle. Around the end of July 2024, the until started leaving clothes damp. By mid August, the unit started leaving clothes wet. They drying stopped working completely. LG sent a company tech out this time and he spent half the time trying to tell us what we were doing wrong. They started on the filter clean outs (there are 3). I explained that I watched all of the training videos and clean one filter out everytime we wash and the others I clean about once a month. Then they dried some clothes and tried to make us think, (oh looks it's drying some) Not a chance. Then he blew the drain line out and said, (that was your problem) After 3 hours he left and told us to test it over the weekend. We did. A load of towels took 9 hours to wash and dry and were still a little damp. We called back. Nothing. Still nothing. LG ghosted us. Terrible customer service. Not to mention when they come out, they won't move your washer or dryer, you have to do it yourself or hire a third party. Unbelievable. Like I said, you purchase this unit at your own risk. It's a great thing to wash and dry without having to move clothes around, but that's it it works more than 5 months. Best Buy stepped in and has replaced this unit for us with whatever we wanted. We went back with a traditional washer and separate dryer. Thank you Best Buy! LG can take a hike!

I recently purchased the LG washer/dryer combo for space reasons and curiosity of the newer technology. I preface this by saying I am a huge fan of LG, and I do prefer gas dryers over electric, but I am not opposed to this ventless, electric machine. You do have to be open minded and know you cannot compare it to a past washer and dryer experience. It’s technology either works for you or it doesn’t. I love the flexibility. Does the cycle time of washing and drying take longer? Yes, in most cases…but I am ok with that. It is true - lint can accumulate in the rubber ring. It is t a lot, and I just wipe it down with a damp cloth to collect it. I do love not having to add laundry soap and softener for each load - the auto dispensing is a nice feature. So far, so good. Time will tell.

Some people have drying problems I did at first I think it was the drain hose. You can’t put it too far in just a few inches the installer put it in about a foot did not dry on clothes very well drying times I pulled a drain pipe up and put it on hot wash and it dries the clothes now, I’m still playing with it to make sure one cancels the other one out. I heard if you use too much cold water that will play part to in drying.time

This works perfectly in the summer; drying takes a little longer in the winter. We have ours in the garage. It saves us a lot of time because we do not have to put it in the dryer. We are now able to run it at night and save on electricity, with the delay start. If it were a little bigger would be great with a family of 6, fill up fast.

As soon as this was installed I started testing. I did a load that I let go through the wash/dry auto cycle. I did the load in normal time. I did a load of towels, set it for wash only because I wanted to see how damp they were after spinning. They were nearly dry. When I set the dry cycle, it evaluated the load and began to dry. They were done in normal time. I think the issue is that you can set the " spin" cycle to different levels. The higher the spin, the less damp and quicker to dry. I did this for my heavier loads, even washed a Ruggable rug. No issues at all and I love having the extra space in my small laundry room.
