So far so good! The washer and dryer takes a little bit longer than it expected, but it fits perfectly because it is ventless.

Great all-in-one combo. Ventless! lint collection is much better than the GE model and priced similar. footprint is same as normal dryer except inch or two deeper, but it itsa "wash" because there is no rear vent exhaust protruding. loads take longer, because of long dry times. bulky heavy items sometimes remain damp and need extra dry times, but our old LG gas dryer was the same, just faster overall. since it is an all-in-one, you don't need to mind and added time and step of unloading a washer then loading a dryer. as usual with separate washer and dryer setups, larger loads extend total wash and dry time. this unit seems to work the best when not overloading it. smaller loads can be done and finish completely dry in about 2.5 hrs. we considered buying 2, but one works if you just run more loads more often. saves a ton of effort and money on your electric bill overall, but not time

The washer dryer combo is great. It is very quiet and i enjoy the convenience of being connected to the app, which means I know exactly where in the process my load is. The estimated time remaining in the cycle is also a big help. The washer has a storage tank for the softener and soap, which also helps with ease of washing. Overall, I am happy with this purchase.

So far so good, no complaints here.
Best for my use case as I transferring wet clothes is not fun; I load dry clothes and get fresh clothes out of it, like a magic genie.
Most important thing to remember is to never fill more than half the capacity to allow for enough breathing space (during drying).
AI mode is really handy for general use.
Towel and bedding mode is specific use case
Allergen mode is good as well for steam washing.
No guess work about amount of detergent required, just fill in the tank once and forget.
Clean the lint once every few cycles.
Low electricity usage due to heat pump and low water usage due to AI mode.

Whoever thought of making a washer dryer combo had a good idea in the concept but all horrible follow through! The washer works OK and cleans clothes in a timely manner. The dryer on the other hand is the worst thing in the world! I can start a load of laundry at 9 AM And over 75% of the time it is still not dry at 9 PM! The condensation, or however, it dries would leave a massive puddle underneath and beside the unit! It would not remove any lint, and all the filters would be free of debris except a little bit of hair. The first five loads was great and after that kept trying everything possible with the instructions thinking maybe missed a filter clean out with no success. Have not had the unit even a year and Best Buy would not do anything about it just sent me to the manufacturer and after paying 4000 for this unit could not afford the manufacture to come out and look at it! I have had many LG products and have been satisfied with their functionality, but this one is the biggest lemon ever. End up having to buy a separate dryer and use this unit for washing only.

Hello there, Kittykat. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand your situation with the WM6998HBA Washer/Dryer Combo and appreciate you taking the time to provide detailed feedback. We recognize that while the washer is performing well, the dryer function is not meeting your expectations, and we’d like to help explore ways to improve its performance.
One troubleshooting step we recommend is to ensure that both the hot and cold water taps are fully opened. Since LG Combo units rely on a water supply during the dry cycle, verifying that the water hoses are connected correctly—with cold water properly directed to the dryer function—can help enhance the condensation process. In addition, please check the inlet filters and the drain pump (as outlined in your Owner’s Manual) to make sure there isn’t any restriction that might be affecting the drying performance. Running a spin cycle prior to initiating the dry process might also help by reducing excess moisture in the load. skeptical about the product. Pleasantly surprised, it is a little slow, but it does the job. You just have to plan ahead how to wash and how to dry, leave it alone and see the result. I am very happy we bought this machine.

Upgraded from LG’s 1st gen model and appears that they’ve learned and incorporated some major improvements. The filter clean out on top is super convenient. The detergent reservoir you top off and let it dispense what’s needed based on load size is awesome. The “AI” does a fine job figuring out a given load and handling it from wash to rinse to dry.
Very happy with the purchase. Wife loves having one machine that does it all. And not having tiny bits of dryer lint potentially creating an air quality issue like a traditional hot air dryer would is a very nice bonus.

I have limited space so I wanted to give this a go. The biggest issue, in my opinion, is drying. There's usually a musky, not so fresh smell when my close come out. I put in a few laundry sheets specified to remove pet hair. I've never had issues with my previous dyers and this does a terrible job. You can almost guarantee that most pet hair remains on your clothes which is dissapointing. I'm out of my return window and wish a went with a dual stack.

I had high hopes for this machine. A washer dryer combo like this makes you feel like you’re living in the future. But once the honeymoon phase wore off I started to witness many issues. Lint accumulation in the door seal was horrible. Then it wasn’t drying well I noticed what was causing it. The lint trap on top of the machine wasn’t catching all the lint and then it was accumulating on a heat sink to the right of the trap. It’s not easily accessible so I had to get my air compressor out and get in there with an air nozzle to blow the lint off the heat sink. Once I did that the clothes started drying again. But it happens after about 10 loads and I’ll have to do that process again. Sometimes it was stuck in dryer mode. With 8 mins left of the clock it would continue to dry until you stopped it. One time it was drying my clothes all night until I stopped it in the morning. It has cool features but it’s just not up to par. It’s way too finicky. I mean all we’re asking of it is to wash and dry the clothes. This is a situation where they put way too much tech into something that doesn’t need to be complicated and they ruined it. I’ve had it for almost 3 month and since I have a BB membership I have 60 days to return it and we will be returning it tonight. I’m so disappointed this didn’t work out because it’s such a cool concept.

Hello there, BenS. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand that you're facing several issues with the LG WM6998HBA washer-dryer combo, and we truly appreciate your detailed feedback. It's clear that you've encountered lint accumulation and drying issues, as well as some malfunctioning during drying cycles. We want to ass ist you with this and explore potential solutions.
To address the lint issue, we recommend cleaning the lint filter more frequently and ensuring that the vent area is clear of any blockages. It may also help to run a cleaning cycle on the washer to prevent lint buildup over time. If the dryer mode continues unexpectedly, this could be related to a setting issue, which we can assist you with troubleshooting. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-5-0-cu-ft-he-smart-mega-capacity-all-in-one-electric-washer-dryer-washcombo-with-steam-and-ventless-inverter-heat-pump-black-steel/6568166.p?skuId=6568166 For a more thorough examination and to explore solutions specific to your unit, please send us a private message on Social Media @LGUSSupport. Context, house of 9, we kept our existing washer dryer and added this. My wife and I love it. We've decided if we ever had the money we would switch all of them to this. So far it's amazing. Quiet, clothes have been just right, and so so simple. Take into account, we prefer a fire and forget washing session bc we have so many times left clothes in the wash and not dried soon enough and our schedule is always wound up.

Great washer! I love that I can toss my work clothes in, and when I wake, and, get going for the day, they are clean and dry. Ready to go! The washer doesn't dry larger loads completely. Be prepared to run a dry only cycle. Or, as I have a gas dryer still, no issues.
Get the pedestal washer if you can. That combined with the all in one, equals bliss.
Easy to clean the lint filter as well. I like the automatic dispensers, mine are both set to detergent. Lots of new cycles if you use the app. Auto start, keep fresh are very handy.
Less handy tho. Are all of the laundry nanny type notifications. I could use a setting to ignore those.

No issues just yet. So far it eliminates the need to get off and move my laundry to the dryer. I can set laundry times remotely to where I know. They will still be warm when I get home and not damp and stinky. My husband is in love with this machine so much so that he decided to renovate the whole laundry area to make way for this machine and make it look pretty. The clothes come out fine just like in our old machine.

So, this machine is a game changer for laundry in a small household. Its like a slow cooker for laundry, load it up, push a button, then come back in 6 hours for a finished load of laundry, couldn't be easier. The maintenance though, at least if you have a pet, leaves a bit to be desired. Along with the typical lint filter that people should be used to cleaning with each wash, theres an additional one at the bottom of the unit that needs to be cleared after so many washes. Just removing that filter requires draining the machine of water, the issue is that the drain plug is so low, youre pretty much limited to using a cake pan to drain into, and it can take multiple pansfull to completely empty. Its a pretty annoying process that i dont think many people are going to be pleased about having to do. Worse than that though, is cleaning the heat pump fins. Fur can find its way through the lint filter, which leads right to the fins for the heat pump, where it collects. After awhile, 6 months in my case, that fur build up will prevent anything from drying, and requires manualy removing the fur/lint, which can only really be done with some minor disassembly, and i dont think most people are going to be thrilled about having to do that.
