It makes your clothes smell like burning rubber

I wish I could give this unit negative 5 stars. I really did try to give it a chance and used it for around 30 days. I washed about 4 loads a week, in varying sizes and bulkiness - from a few shirts and pants, to large bedding. The unit has a water pump that heats up and that’s how it dries clothing. It made my clothes smell like burnt tires and every time. I tried to clean it multiple times with vinegar, I ran the tub wash setting, and even tried woolite. Still stank like burning rubber. You will not get that satisfying fresh out of the dryer feel with this unit. It also takes forever to dry things. It also doesn’t dry well. The TLDR: It makes your clothes stink like burning rubber, takes forever to dry, still leaves your clothes damp and is just nothing like a traditional dryer because of the heat pump it has. It’s a terrible machine and I had to finally exchange it for a regular gas dryer.

Still early, hoping it will stay great. No vent to worry about, runs on regular wall power, so easy. Dry times are longer, but I dont care about time and don't do a lot of loads a week. If you do a lot of laundry this is probably not for you.

I've had this machine for about a month now and I have to say I'm very happy that I purchased this machine it was a hard decision but i decided on this one because of its size its a great machine washes and dries really well they should of thought of this idea a long time ago not everyone has space in their home for a separate washer and dryer so this was great for me I'm still getting use to all the settings being theres so many but if you purchase it you wont be disappointed!

I love having one matchine to set and forget. But we have encountered a few things we have to say may have not been the best choice. The loads have to be very small to dry completely after the 2-3 hours. And our shirts or uniforms come out of the dryer wrinkled which didn’t have that issue with a separate dryer / washer machines. We are having to do an additional drying cycle for 30 min to make sure it dries but remains wrinkled. We have also noticed the top of the dryer seems to collect dust on the top where the filter is located so the dryer looks dirty. After the month, we were re-thinking the investment since our last washer and dryer had lasted us 8 years and still was drying. The only reason we purchased this machine was to upgrade and hope to see a decrease in energy consumption.

Hi, Becca. Thank you for sharing your detailed experience with the WM6998HBA Washer Dryer Combo. It’s important that your appliance meets your needs effectively. Here are some tips to help improve your experience:

      1. For optimal drying, try to keep the load sizes smaller. Washer dryer combos typically handle smaller loads better than traditional separate machines. Overloading can result in longer drying times and wrinkles.

      2. To reduce wrinkles, consider using the Wrinkle Care or similar setting if available. You can also try removing items promptly once the cycle is complete and hanging them up immediately to minimize wrinkling.

      3. If you find that clothes aren’t fully dry after the initial cycle, using a short additional drying cycle is a good practice. However, ensure the load isn’t too large as this can hinder the drying efficiency.

      4. Regularly cleaning the filter and wiping down the exterior can help keep your machine looking clean and prevent dust buildup.

      5. While washer dryer combos can be efficient, their drying capabilities can differ from separate units. Monitoring energy consumption can help gauge if the expected savings are being met.

This does the job, but it isn't as good as an ordinary washer/dryer combo. It takes about 3.5 hours to do a full cycle, and unlike a typical washer/dryer combo, you cannot wash another load of clothes while the previous one is drying. On the positive side, it just runs on a 110 outlet and does not need a vent. We have this in our garage as the "backup" unit in case the other one is unavailable for some reason.

Had limited space to place a washer & dryer. So got this combo to conserve space. Was undecided between this one & Samsung. Ultimately ended up with the LG & glad i did. Works great. Yes it does take long to wash AND dry. But overall a great machine if your looking to conserve or have limited space.

    Open Box

Bought this as an open box item (returned by another customer) yesterday 25 June. Very obvious this machine was not checked over by anyone. Ran it and it started to flood water out of the lint filter. Took the filter out and shined a flashlight down the grate and it was completely blocked over by lint clogging the filter. This is more of a review on best buy not holding up there descriptions of open box items.

This far this unit has been amazing. No switching of laundry. We have not had any issues with items coming out moist like people mentioned about these all in ones. Yes, a whole cycle takes longer but how many of us sit and wait for the washer to end so we can immediately switch it to the dryer. For us, with work, it has actually saved time. Plus it uses next to no electricity.

Nice machine. Love not having to transfer wet clothes from washer to dryer. Heavier loads not quite dry all the time may need additional 15-20 minutes drying.

This concept is a great idea. A great look in the laundry room. I just can't give 5 stars because the drying time is very long! I tried this unit out for about a week and the drying took anywhere from 5-7 hours.

Great decision. We didn’t really know how well we would like the unit. We liked how it would fit in a tight utility closet and the energy saving features. We just load it up and return in roughly 2-3 hrs. All done. Saves time as we don’t have to worry about switching the clothes from one unit to the other. Consider the down time of when you are not around or forget to switch from washer to dryer. If you are really concerned about time. Buy another unit (wait for a great sale as we did). Two loads completely done in 2-3 hrs. The clothes feel and smell fresh. They are also not over dried due to excessive heat. They actually feel slightly moist, but still dry if you know what I mean. Just make sure you keep the both filters clean (easy) and you shouldn’t have a problem. Very pleased and happy. Highly recommended.

So far so good. Quiet. Efficient. Very little lint as compared to my last dryer. Just ran a larger load to see how it would perform, and it performed just as well as it did with smaller loads. Only had to add drying time once with some towels, but that happened with my past dryers too. And I really didn't need to add much more time. Interestingly, the larger load was not the one that required more time!
