After we started using it in Feb 2024, up tp today (date of this review which is Nov 22, 2024), here are our observations Cons: 1) drying takes at least 3 hours, even if it is just for a small load; 2) our monthly electricity bill is a lot higher now compared to our bills using old washer and dryer; 3) it often encounters an "error" leading to not finishing a cycle; 4) it is broken now and could not be used (just after few months of using it). It says there is something with the drainage although there is actually nothing wrong with its drainage after i checked several times. Pros: 1) space saver.

Hi, Rwyn. Thank you for sharing your detailed experience with us regarding your LG Wash Combo (WM6998HBA) model. We understand your concern about dealing with multiple issues in such a short time, especially with drying performance, energy usage, and the error you're encountering. We strive to provide reliable, high-quality products that exceed our customer's needs and expectations. For the drying time, we recommend checking if the load size is too large or too small, as this can sometimes affect drying efficiency. Additionally, ensure that the vents and filters are clear, as blockages can also impact performance. For more information, visit https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-washer-dryer-combo-troubleshooting-poor-drying--1337696273691. Regarding the error and drainage issue, even though you’ve checked the drainage, sometimes a sensor malfunction can cause the system to misread it. We suggest performing a reset or checking the drain pump for any possible obstructions that might be affecting the cycle.

Please send us a private message on social media @LGUSSupport, and our team will be happy to assist you with troubleshooting and explore any warranty or repair options to get your unit back up and running.

We appreciate your patience and are here to help. ^Juvy LG

I hate to give bad reviews on things, but this product should never have been released. For starters, it is very high maintenance and touchy. One little bit of lint in one of the filters, and the dryer will not shut off, running indefinitely. The biggest problem, which of course only started after the 1 year warranty was up, is that it slowly leaks water during the dry cycle. I live in a condo and simply cannot have water consistently leaking on the floor. This product seems like a great innovation and I would love it to work, but it doesn't work, and I strongly advise against anyone buying it.

So far so good, you do need to adjust your laundering habits. Aka DO NOT OVERFILL (About a little more than halfway has given me zero issues and results in about a 2 and half hour cycle), and please clean the lint trap EVERY time (should also be rinsed with hot water ~10 loads). If you're a 1-3 person household I see very little issues in terms of through put and the added flexibility of being able to pop the cloths in, clean filter, and then hit start and know that whenever I get around to getting the cloths back out they'll be dry and ready to go is perfect for me.

Quite happy with this so far. Clothes come out dry! Love that it doesn't suck all the warm air out of my house in the winter (due to the ventless design). Clothes are maybe slightly more wrinkly than traditional dryer because it doesn't get as hot but a fine trade off for convenience. I usually iron anyway. Plus now I have more room in my half-bath off the kitchen for more pantry/storage space.

Do not buy! Does not dry clothes right, leaves jeans wrinkled. One load takes all day to dry. I have insurance but the geek squad said it still under manufacture warranty, so I called LG and they stated I will have to pay out of pocket if they don’t find anything wrong with it. Also when drying the rubber around the door has water and it gets filled with lint I have to clean it before removing the clothes

Hi, Des. Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We understand your concern about dealing with drying issues, such as clothes not drying properly, excessive wrinkles, and the rubber around the door filling with water and lint. We strive to provide reliable, high-quality products that exceed our customer's needs and expectations.

For the drying issue, we recommend checking if the dryer’s vent hose is clear and not obstructed, as a blocked vent can cause long drying times. Also, ensure that the load is balanced and not too large, as overloading the dryer can affect its performance. For more help, you may visit  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6ZpcvjFcvo. For the rubber gasket, make sure it's properly cleaned to prevent any lint buildup, which can sometimes cause water to accumulate. For a range of common concerns, we recommend reviewing our general usage instructions to help ensure optimal performance. health concern over mildew smell left in my load

The unit is in my garage which is not air conditioned. This should not be a problem, except that the unit must be holding water. I am 9 days past the return window. I tried to call yesterday, but closed on Sunday. I have only used the combo about 8 times, but the last time it did something weird. When it finished on the wash + dry setting all of the clothes were thrown up against the back of the machine. They were not really dry - not really wet and very stiff, so I ran the machine on dry only which fluffed them up. We brought them inside and they smelled really bad. So we washed them inside in our regular whirlpool washer and dried them to get the smell of mildew out of them. That whole day my nose was runny and i sneezed all day - about 50 times. I was very uncomfortable. The next day I was okay again. I don't know why the machine had this problem and I don't like the rubber gasket. Best buy would not accept my return even though the delivery man said that they would past the 15 day return window. I am willing to buy a regular washing machine instead of this unit. Sneezing all day is a big problem!

    DO NOT BUY

This washer/dryer combo is terrible! While I do love the convenience of having an all-in-one, this has many flaws. The biggest of all being lint. After each load there is more lint stuck on the gasket for the door than there is in the lint trap and it is very difficult to get off, it is basically pasted on there and stuck in all the crevices. You have to re-wet it in order to try to get it off. And while the first month it does wash and dry in a reasonable amount of time, the dry time takes longer and longer each month to now it takes 4-5 hours just for the dry cycle. So my energy usage increases every month even if I do less loads. Do not buy!

      Hi, Kaytee.
Thank you for sharing your feedback on the LG Wash Combo (WM6998HBA) model. We understand your concern about dealing with lint buildup and extended drying times. For the lint issue, we recommend regularly cleaning the door gasket with a damp cloth after each cycle and running a Tub Clean cycle monthly with an LG-approved cleaner to help prevent residue buildup. For guidance, you may visit  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=049ziz0XesY&t=1s. To address the drying performance, ensure that the load size matches the washer-dryer combo’s capacity, and avoid overloading the drum, as this can affect drying efficiency. Not very goood. Dosnt dry the clothes you have to dry it like 6 times for them to be dry on the out side and damp in the middle. Water also sits in the bottom of wash and dry once the dry cycle is over on the 1st dry cycle
