    Hard to Clean

I wanted to love this washer. We have owned it for 7 months, we have done the cleaning tabs pretty regularly. Until last week when I washed a new blanket, there was brown flecks left on it. Ok, so we did a tub clean, brown flecks all over the base, did another tub clean, more of the same, just did a rinse and spin, more of the same. So, I Youtubed, how to take it apart, just took the propeller off and it was disgusting. I wish, I would have taken a pic of the back side of the propeller. It took me 45 minutes of scrubbing and 15 minutes to clean the base of only a 7 months old machine. Definitely frustrating and hard on the back. I dont want to do this every 6 months. The the cap to the propeller is plastic and I dont know how many times I will be able to pop it off before it breaks....

Bought this for the good reviews, but am so disappointed. In less than 1 month and less than 10 washes, I experienced a dl "door lock" error code. I tried everything I saw online to troubleshoot but was told the actual thing that pushes the lock out to lock the door malfunctioned. Ridiculous and super inconvenient. Cannot recommend this product.

Great washer! Lesson-learned - check leveling!

This review is after four months of use. This washing machine was purchased to replace our 15 year old whirlpool that finally stopped spinning-out water. Rather than pay to fix the old machine, we decided to take a look at what we could find. This machine is great in that it’s a significant drum capacity increase within a small unit footprint over our prior machine. The WiFi connectivity to monitor the machine, downloadable cycles and sensing wash and “3D” wash is great. Our cloths come out the cleanest they’ve ever been! Regarding the WiFi connection, the LG app is great it notifying us of potential issues with the machine as well as something as simple as remembering to run a tub-clean cycle. The only Lesson Learned I would provide to potential customers is to make sure they the machine is FULLY LEVEL. The machine’s sensor-based fill and wash cycles are finicky if the machine is not properly level. I found the machine would get stuck on the spin cycle, clothing blocking the internal drain, which discovered was due to the Best Buy installers not properly leaving the unit. After taking an hour or so meticulously leveling the machine and running a cycle did I find the machine operated even quieter and fully spun-out a big load. The machines “high” spin cycle is extremely fast (there is even a very high spin) they I found the machine would sometimes error as an “UB” unbalanced load. I thought we had a lemon, but leveling the machines solve all of the issues we had at the very beginning of owning this machine.

Just WOW! I'll admit we were melancholy about putting our former washing machine out to pasture because it had served us faithfully and well for 15 hard-working years. We did some homework about its replacement and were glad to find this well recommended unit available at Best Buy - with delivery only a week after purchase. In keeping with our usual Best Buy purchasing experiences, we found our salesman knowledgeable, generous with his time, and good natured. We are always impressed with Best Buy staff in this way. What we were not prepared for was the genuinely phenomenal performance of this washing machine. It is EASY to operate (we wanted something as uncomplicated as possible) and does a great job of efficiently cleaning anything we put in it. From delicates to rugs! We were wary of the new Efficient, Smart, and Agitator-free technology at the heart of this generous capacity unit, but it has demonstrated that it clearly knows what it is doing. We truly couldn't be happier with this washing machine. If it is on your list of considerations, we're pretty sure you will not be disappointed.

This is our 2nd LG washer we updated to same style as first one served us well. The tub is super deep and it cleans great. It is quiet and easy to use. I miss the perm press cycle but haven't had any real trouble batting great results with the wash. Needs a little help balancing loads every now and then.

I have had this washer for about 3-4 weeks and so far so good. It does a good job, has a large tub capacity, is pretty easy to figure out the controls. A bit of a stretch for a short person (I am 5'2") to reach the items in the bottom, but I am kinda used to that. Slightly deeper than my old washer. Pretty quiet.

Our new large capacity LG washer is simple to use & is cleaning everything well. We chose a top loader to avoid the mold & poor cleaning issues with our front loader. It’s a bit odd to have a front-loading dryer next to the new washer but am noticing this combo more often in homes. We can leave the washer lid open all the time to air out when not in use & the door isn’t in the way. It also indicates that the washer is available when someone needs it, & if the lid is shut, a load needs to be transferred. It cleans so much better! Haven’t used the WiFi option yet. The turbo wash option solves the need for more water in large items or especially dirty loads. This washer takes longer than the last, which probably contributes to cleaner clothes. It will use more electricity, but clean, fresh smelling clothes is the priority. We noticed friends who use front loaders’ clothes would sometimes smell sour. Our old front loader made it necessary to wash some loads over, so comparing electricity usage is difficult. The young gentleman who installed our washer was quick, informative & beyond helpfu~Thanks!

Excellent washer. Cleans my clothes very well. Love that I can sync on my phone and get alerts when the load is done washing. Also if I plan to leave the house I can set the washer to start at a later date while I'm out and when I come back home I can put in the dryer without it have sat soaked all day. I was recommended a LG washer by a colleague at work and I have no regrets 2 years later. Running like new. I also love that I can fit a whole comforter for wash. I can do bigger loads (what used to be 2 loads) I can do in one cutting down my washing time.

HE, Smart Technology, Top load, Large Capacity dream come true. Love this machine. So far it's been incredible. We opted for the unit without and agitator and it works like a charm. I thought all the features and settings and buttons would drive me up a wall but it turns out it's super simple to use and notifies me in time left, status of my wash, completion, and tips on washes. I can create custom wash cycles if needed though I haven't had to. It handles the king size comforter flawlessly. I think my only complaint is to myself for not investing in myself earlier. This makes laundry a much less daunting task.

We have had this washer for 5 months and have washed about every type of item. The only concern is with Queen and King fitted sheets. Looking at the tub 1/2 through wash cycle will show a large balloon of a sheet that spans the tube width. This never seems to move during wash. I started to hit Extra Water but no difference. Are they clean? Can't tell as there is no visible dirt to begin with. I've had a couple pair of jeans that did have dirt (not stains! just rubbed against a tree stump) and the spots were not not removed, took a second washing. I really think the agitator needs to be higher to be more aggressive and tumble the wash. LG must not have tested it with big sheets.

Love this washer! I bough this LG to replace a 25-year old agitator style. Was nervous about no agitator, high tech, less water. So far I love it. It is actually quite easy to use (although I haven’t tried syncing to my phone or anything like that yet) and cleans the clothes nicely. Love that it uses so little soap. And I’m getting used to clothes getting clean without a lot of water (although this machine does have the ‘extra water’ feature which I have used). Holds king size sheet set & duvet with no problem at all. Quiet (I was worried about excess noice with HE). Makes a pleasant little noise/tune when done. Highly recommend so far. Here’s hoping LG reliability is as described by others. I’d like to use this one for 25 years also.

Our front-loader died and I was happy to go back to a top-loader. No more door seals to deal with and easier on the back. I chose this LG based on Consumer Reports and other reviews. So far it has worked flawlessly. Best Buy installed it and removed old washer in about 15 minutes. Some of the other reviews expressed concerns about low water levels but I have found the water levels to be appropriate. My clothes come out looking and smelling clean! Very pleased.
