We replaced a very old machine, so comparing isn't fair. Best Buy installed, and was very good at making things right when there was an installation problem. We got the matching gas drier as well. This machine cleans very well, the automatic dispensing of detergent is fantastic, and it really can do just about anything we could want a washer to do, and more. The ability with the app to communicate with the drier about the drier settings is a bonus. Honestly, it's more machine than we needed, but the level below wasn't in stock anywhere around.

I love this washer. Great size for my family. Laundry is not an all day chore for me with this washer. Love the features especially with the machine sensing the laundry load. I can wash a large load in under 50 mins and they still come out nice and clean. My previous machine would take me an hour and a half to wash a small load. Overall great machine.

So far so good. I only purchased a little over a month ago, but it doesn’t keep a smell, washes clothes well, and easy to use.

What can I say it’s LG. The LG home App and Google help me run the home. Large enough to do anything. No more laundromat. This washer is truly hands free after you load it. From delicate clothing to after roofing working loads. I look good all the time. Oh yeah, no more faded clothing. Oh it’s a bit expensive so buy when on sale and pick up the five year warranty.

We have purchased this before thanksgiving 2020 and have used few times so far. We are happy with the purchase I did so much research comparing several other products and ended up choosing this one. Definitely its a great washer, have noticed the clothes are so bright and clean. Excellent washer, no worries on pouring extra liquid as it stores internally and use only whats needed for that load.

Amazing washing system. My other LG washer and dryer lasted over 10 years with no issues with our big household (6+), but we sold it for the upgrade. Put in a comforter set and wash it with ease. Do a huuge load of towels with ease. I wash an oversize dog bed in this thing, and it comes out looking new. Sanitize cycle is great but takes about 3 hours. The thing has like 5 sprayers to saturate clothing. And the most important thing - - IT HAS A DRUM LIGHT!

Great Washing Machine. Replaced 12 year old Kenmore Elite. We have only had them about a month now but they are super quite and very smart. I downloaded the LG app to my phone and connected via the wifi built into the machines, its pretty neat even though I will rarely use it and my wife will not use it at all.

Great washer, takes large loads and lots of settings. Love the app and additional downloadable settings. The softener and detergent automatic dispensing is game changing feature. The downside was the washer was installed by Best Buy and they did not level and did not leave us a leveling tool. The washer on high spin vibrated on tile that could be heard in adjacent rooms. Called Best Buy and they said they could replace the washer for a $1.00 tool. I ended up buying the tool online and some anti-vibration mats which have worked like a charm. Installation was a 1 star, washer is a 4.5 star.

Took delivery several weeks ago. The delivery team was excellent. Called multiple times prior to, and, at delivery. 15 day trial...excellent. the machine is superb. I am impressed at how clean the clothes are with so little water usage. Spin cycle really impressive. I live the drum light. The connection to the phone seemed over the top, but, i actually like it now that I'm using it.

Huge capacity, great job cleaning, lots of control. Love the auto detergent feature. The app is worthless, could definitely be improved.

Want to go surfing in your laundry room? Buy this washer. This seems to be a fairly new model as there aren’t very many reviews. It’s on the pricier end of front loaders, so I decided to look at the open box stock that was at my local Best Buy Outlet. There were at least 5 of this model there. That probably should have tipped me off, but I was so excited to potentially get a great washer at a discount because of a few scratches. BIG MISTAKE. I asked the clerk if they verified that the machine was in working order and that the issues were all cosmetic. He told me the appliances are tested before they come to the store to be sure they are operable. I verified this on Best Buy’s website. It clearly states that they inspect and test the items. I also asked whether they will take it back if it’s defective. He said yes. Then I asked if they will pick it up or whether I had to bring it back. He said they would arrange for pickup. What he failed to mention was that they charge $100 for said pickup. Mind you, that’s for a defective machine. I proceeded with the purchase and purchased the 3 year geek squad warranty as well. My husband and I picked it up two days later and installed it the same day. We ran a cycle immediately to test it out. We put about 4 normal size towels in and ran it. Within 3 minutes the washer starts leaking from the door. At this point it’s full of water. My first thought was to pause the cycle and try to reset it to “spin only” to get it to drain. What happened when I hit pause? THE DOOR OPENED!!! With a tub FULL of water. We were stand right in front of it so we hurried up and shut the door. But at this point there were parts of one of the towels stuck in the door. So the leaking continued. We repeatedly tried to set the spin only cycle to get it to drain. Wouldn’t work. We ended up having to manually drain the washer by opening the door enough to let some water flow into a bucket that we would dump, and then repeating until most of the water was out. All of this while still sitting in an inch of water. We also have to clean up the subsequent flooding in the basement area below the laundry room. I’ve researched this issue at this point, and I found many others that have had the same issue. So this is not a scratch and dent issue. It’s an LG issue. The manager at the outlet store did wave the delivery fee (the least they could do), and they’ll be picking up this piece of junk this week. It’s clear that these items can’t possibly be getting tested. There’s no way that washer didn’t leak prior to us purchasing it. So they either sold it knowing it leaked or lied about testing it. On LG’s part, they KNOW the doors can leak, and open during a cycle. We had to move that one back in. The only reason we’re getting rid of that one is because the nut on the motor constantly comes loose at this point which causes an uneven load error frequently. Looks like we’ll be dealing with that a little longer while we search for a new washer. Again.

Although I'm reviewing this LG 5.0 Cu. Ft. washing machine, I will include my opinions on LG and other competitor branded machines. My past purchase history includes numerous washing machines, including but not limited to Samsung top-loading and front-loading machines, LG front-loading machines, and Whirlpool/Maytag top-loading machines. From my experience, I can soundly conclude that as of 2022, LG's front-loading washing machines rank the best in almost every category, especially reliability. I cannot recommend Samsung for either their front-loading or top-loading washing machines because of design flaws that have left me scratching my head. One thing to note is that both LG and Samsung rank almost dead last for top-loading washing machines. Therefore, I suggest purchasing an LG front-loading washing machine if you're looking for a front-loader. Whirlpool and its subsidiaries come in 1st place for top-loading washing machines; however, please note that Whirlpool and its subsidiaries' quality control is sometimes lacking. Therefore, I would exercise caution and read any available reviews before making your purchase.
