Definitely not as good as a surround sound system. Can't really tell the ATMOS effect when playing atmos movies. Still better than TV speakers though.

Bought this to match up with a Samsung TV that just doesn’t have the best sound quality. There is an automatic timer that shuts it off after a few minutes and it will not stay on. I’ve been around and around with tech-support and the manufacturer and nobody can find a solution. Their suggestion was that I spend $3000 on an LG TV that would match it better. This sound bar and sub cost me $800 on sale. It’s completely useless and I’m outside the return window. I’ve never been able to use it more than a few minutes at a time. Clearly there is a glitch and nobody can fix it.

TheSpingbar is pretty much useless without the accompanying LG Soundbar mobile app. The first thing you need to do to use the app is connect the Soundbar to WiFi, which the app failed to do. I tried to use the app on both iPhones 11 and 12. Alternative ways I could discover online to connect the device to WiFi were using Airplay option from phone settings or via Google Home app. Both these workarounds failed too. Then I tried all these approaches on an old Android phone I fished from the closet, and the Google Home method finally worked. Then when I tried to stream content to the TV, internet speeds suddenly dropped to dial up speeds. On doing more research in internet forums, i learnt that the wireless connection to the subwoofer interferes with WiFi and I was able to verify this by seeing the speeds pick back up when I disconnected the subwoofer. The one time I was able to stream a song, however, I noticed the speaker quality was very good. Overall, you would end up with decent speakers that can’t really play anything. I am extremely dissatisfied with how poorly engineered the product is. It is not even worth the discounted Black Friday price.

Gotta be honest, it was okay. I wasn’t crazy about it. For the price point I preferred to add a bit more and upgrade.

Figured I’d treat myself and upgrade from a previous LG Soundbar that serves me well (the SP8YG from last year). This on sounded worse for some reason than the previous years 3.1.2 set up, even with the equivalent rear SPK8 speakers (of which I also used for the other set). The stereo mixing is just jumbled and didn’t sound clear, no matter how much I tinkered with and tried to dial in the settings. It did have a better sound separation and wider stage for left and right speakers, when using Dolby True HD lossless samples downloaded. Also, the Wi-Fi issue is that all the other comments talk about is unfortunately real. Purchased with Geek Squad warranty, and they could not fix and were unable to swap for a 1:1 of another brand, only do a return or purchase price exchange . Which is in contrast to the wording of “MSRP on receipt at time of purchase” literature on Geek Squads warranty terms. So worthless warranty too unfortunately. Disappointed, so returned.

I did not like the sound for music coming out of this soundbar, for movies it sounded amazing.

The items I purchased did not reach my expectations as for the quality of efficient sound management and overall sound control I guess I was expecting more bang for the buck and was not really impressed by the quality the I was hearing I have just recently within the pass week made a tremendous change to the whole system that I think will be more satisfactory once it is installed.

I wasn't even able to listen to the sound bar due to it needed a repair And when I returned it to the distribution center Like they told they had no more products on hand Then they lost the product instead of returning it to me

Bass really doesn’t do well but a little better than the tv sound

Has great sound and is easy to use. Setting up can be a pain without the app. I returned it after keeping it for two weeks because the airdrop and bluetooth connection was poor and it wouldn't stay connected or play sound. Was really excited to upgrade but couldn't justify the purchase with the issues present.
