    So Far Great Washine Machine

We had a Maytag Bravos unit for several years. Had purchased it mostly due to it's NAME/Reputation for durability. Well it started acting up with the F1 errors....unable to communicate with the control sensor or such...found that this was a common error with this brand/model as well as Whirlpool...made by same company(Because they both took the same electronic control module)? Tried replacing the $120 control module myself which was posted as the most common problem/solution, but didn't work(got a refund), and wasn't going to invest in hundreds of $$ to try to get it repaired, so opted to replace it. After many reviews read, settled on the LG unit...partly because of it's Direct Drive washing drum, and also it's 10 Year warranty status, and that it wasn't a Maytag or Whirlpool brand. Installed it myself in the UPstairs washroom including LEVELING it, and put it to use that day. Others reported in their reviews that it didn't fill up with enough water...but I think they were used to the very old agitator types that were as tall as the wash drum, and needed lots of water to function. My old Maytag also had a LOAD weight/volume sensor and would only fill with enough water to just cover/submerge the clothes, so that the low profile agitator could work most effectively. I like the removable soap/softener trays for easier cleaning, but they get flushed with water during the cycle and so far are staying quite clean. The Whites cycle is rather long, but designed to truly get them clean and white with bleach. Have also used the bedding cycle(tremendous capacity), and really like the speed and effectiveness of the Turbo Normal cycle, again it adjust the wash time with the weight/size of the load. Also like the NO SLAM lid feature, and it is rather quiet, not necessarily HUSH quiet, but it doesn't bother us watching TV in the next room with the doors open. In some reviews I read folks talked about linting, but with the Maytag and this one, you need to wash similar types of clothing material together to reduce that occurrence, and we haven't had that problem with either unit, with self cleaning lint filters. We've had it just a few months, so only time/years will tell whether this was the durable investment that I'm hoping it is compared to our previous ~7 year old Maytag unit. Hope this helps someone.

Lemon. Purchase at Your Own Risk

We purchased this washer based on the great reviews. Unfortunately, we got a lemon. Initially, I was not mad, things happen right? and We called LG & asked them to give us a new washer (the same one, we didn’t even ask for an upgrade). LG said they wanted to send a repair person to see what was wrong with it. The repair contractor was shocked that the machine was new as he said the repair was comparable to needing a new engine in a car you just purchased. He said we should call LG and get our money back. He said he would need to take the machine to fix it. He had it for a week! When’s we got it back, it was still making a horrific sound but not as bad. I tried using it for a week and the sound just got worse. It also leaked. We called LG again and they said we couldn’t get a new one and they would send another repair person. We also found out the initial repairman noted that it leaked in his report. Seriously? And he returned it to us like that?? We said we wanted to return it but since the intial repair man took it for a week, we were out of the Best Buy return window. To get to my point. DO NOT BUY THIS WASHER. We paid for a NEW washer and less than 1.5months in we have a “refurbished” one that still doesn’t work correctly. The Best Buy salesperson was easy to work with. We do not hold BB accountable for this but warn others not to purchase LG products because of their terrible customer service. Since I can’t give the machine itself zero stars, I’m dedicating the one star to the salesperson at BB.

    Excellent Washer

I have lived with a cruddy washing machine for several years with old agitator in the middle. I am so glad my dryer went out! I purchased this Washer and the dryer that goes with it over the Labor day weekend. So far my clothes are 99% cleaner than my old washer. Dingy Socks come out whiter (bright white setting), cleaned a Queen Size comforter with no problem, daughter works at restaurant and the grease stains came off after some oxy clean. I want to do laundry everyday, I am in love with this washer. It is BIG and we had to move it out from the wall about 10" due to the lid hitting our above cabinets. Overall it is an excellent washer and I did not want a front load washer. IF you are short ----- This is a big washing machine and you may have trouble reaching in all the way , I am 5'7 and feel I have to put in my whole body to reach in and get the socks and little items. BUT --- I would buy again. Very happy with it and can't wait to figure out the Downloadable features. Another note - If there are only two of you in the house this is A BIG Washer...When the kids leave this may be too big..

Only one issue I wish we would have known about. That is on the first several loads of washing, the sprayer that sprays from the top of the drum on the rince cycle, made a very obnoxious noise due to air in the line. We did not realize that this would clear up after several loads. Not knowing this, we had Best Buy do an exchange for us. By the time the delivery crew delivered the replacement washer to us, the problem cleared itself up (the air purged itself from the line). The delivery people went ahead and swapped out our machine, and yes we had the same air purging issue with the replacement washer! By this time we knew what was going on and the obnoxious noise from purging air at the sprayer cleared itself after several loads of wash. I just wish someone at Best Buy would have informed us first off, however maybe they didn't know, which is why I am writing this review. Other than that, no problems. Love this washer. Smooth and quiet operation. Stainless steel drum is very nice. Glass top very attractive, and you won't forget about that load of wash you did earlier today!

I always like to read the Cons first, so ... > you will need a water hammer arrestor installed on the cold water inlet fro this washer ... some can be had for as low as $12 and easy to screw on like a garden hose ... YES, even if all other previous washers never gave this problem > expect to sometimes have to unknot sheets (no agitator) > expect sometimes to have to pretreat stains - suggested is Resolve Pre Treat Stain Stick - 3 oz > would be ideal for Speed Wash cycle to allow HOT water wash Pros > 1/2hr speed wash is to die for > super duper many cycles that can be modified to suit anyone/thing > no other washer past has cleaned so many, so heavy and so well (exceptions noted above) Suggestions > have this Best Buy delivered & installed, WORTH the money > new surge protector on outlet serving washer - electronic board replacements cost almost as much as the washer > bottom right button says something about water level/fill - I prefer to have all clothes covered by water when washing, so I elect this option

Never bought a worse washing machine

I seriously have never hated a washer more than this one. If I fill the washer more than two thirds full, it doesn't have enough power to move the clothes around to wash them. It never puts enough water in the washer to get all the clothes wet. I have to pause the washer with every load and push the water plus button 2 or 3 times and by then half the time is gone and some loads that's still not enough to get all the clothes wet. I should be able to fill the washer to the top, turn it on and walk away and come back to clean clothes. Not the case here. I have to stand there and watch it to see how many times I have to pause it and push the water plus button and then most of the time it needs to be restarted since there will then not be enough time left to wash the clothes. Maybe I have a defective one since most other people don't seem to have the same problem. But my washer completely sucks and it makes no sense to make a washer so big that doesn't have the power to agitate the clothes. I'm hoping for it to flat out die so I have a reason to buy a new one but this one is only 2 months old

    This machine actually washes clothes!

Trying to buy a washing machine that actually washes clothes is all but impossible with existing energy star requirements. I have pictures of my clothes being dry when two other models started the rinse cycle (was adding pitchers of water, sent them both back). Was wishing I had my previous washer repaired. Then what to my wondering eyes did appear... This machine has settings and options that let you, not the Government, decide how you want to watch clothes! It is aggressive on normal. Delicate works great on shirts, etc. Marvelous, you can download and install gentle programs But It Must be a Droid or iPad not iPhone. Simple, Buy This Machine and borrow a droid or use iPad. Hope this changes. Life's Good since I bought this.

I did my research and made the decision to purchase this product. I was moving from an LG front loader not because of the brand but because of the design of the machine. I missed the size of a top loader and the ability to add to the load once started. Best Buy let me know that I had a birthday discount, so I purchased this machine. Ordering online was very easy, scheduling delivery equally so and the delivery guys were great!! I was very pleased with that whole process. I waited for a bit to write this review because I wanted to use the machine. The machine is easy to learn, the drum is huge and the machine cleans clothes very well. I have no complaints. To address some of the negative reviews, I have only had to readjust the load one time in a month plus and I have used most of the cycles. There is some noise with the machine but only on the spin cycle. Overall, I am pleased with this product!

I recently purchased this washer as a replacement for a new Maytag I did not like because it didn't actually wash the clothes. Best decision to change to this LG model. It does a great job of cleaning mine and my kids clothes, gym, clothes, hunting clothes, towels, bedding, EVERYTHING!. The wash cycle is very quiet (way more quiet than the Maytag), does an excellent job of sensing the right water levels and the agitation is great because it moves the clothes around vigorously so you know the clothes are actually getting "washed" not just pushed around in a circle because the tub is moving. The detergent/fabric softener tray is a bit small but it allows you to switch between HE powder or liquid detergents. There is also a fabric softener setting this will allow your wash cycle to be shortened if you do not add softener. Multiple wash cycles so I have options for delicates, bedding, allergy, whites as well as a steam cycle. Very happy with this washing machine.

We switch to LG after other brand's recall troubles. We are glad we made that decision now! Pros: 1 - Plenty large for the whole family. The size is great for larger loads with no problem. All comes out nice and clean. 2 - The "sense" feature works awesome. No more guessing how much water you should push. 3 - Super quiet machine. We barely hear it. 4 - Clothes come out almost dry after spins. My Dri-Fit material can be worn out of the machine without drying more. Cons: 1 - The only con is that it is a little deep. Watch out for your back and bruising on chest when bending forward to get clothes out of it. I strongly suggest getting this top loader since it is one of the best ones out there. Bestbuy had the best price anywhere!

This is our second LG washer (the reason for it being the second, is that we gave the older model to our son). The one he is inheriting is 8.5 years old and functions just as it did on day one. Well, this washer obviously has more bells and whistles being that it’s so many years later. The capacity is unbelievable, but it’s what it does with that capacity that makes it superior to other washers with similar size and features. This actually washes EVERYTHING in the drum. You can fit a king sized bed worth of bedding in it with room to spare (that includes the comforter and throw pillows). The features are not useless ones. Theses are actually ones you will use. Basically, look no further if you need a new washer. This is it.

    Made squeaking noise

After 3 weeks of use it started making a squeaking noise during the agitation cycle. I called LG and they sent a tech out and he replaced the transmission. It still did it. He called in support and they say it might be a engineering issue. What happens is that when it agitates there is a piece of foam in the back of the tub that hits the back steel panel and squeaks when it hits. They say I will have to wait until someone comes up with a fix for it. Looking at the other comments here I don't see anyone else complaining about it. Other that the issue about it is ok. One load that was pretty large but not full too 2:15 to wash. That's crazy. I will update if I get it fixed.

Great Washer. We tried the front loaders and that was a mistake. We purchased this model 8 years ago and she finally started with the breaking down. First the pump and next came the costly control board. It was time to say goodbye.. I researched the Samsung like model that is a few bucks cheaper. Reviews were pretty much the same but decided to stick with what I knew was a proven washer. It’s a quiet machine and easy to control. Big bulky bedding!! No problem it self balances and does a great job. If you’re a short person you may want to get a step stool. I give it 4/5 stars because I believe the price should come down a bit. After all it’s a “top loader”. Let’s hope I get another 8+ years

The washing machine that we have had since we got married broke down after 5+ years of no problems. It was too expensive to repair and we were advised to buy a new one. I asked family and friends and they loved this machine and we can see why. Having no agitator makes it super easy to throw your dirty clothes in and even easier to remove! The size is also a HUGE plus because we wash our king size comforter in it with no problems. If you want to know why LG is better than Samsung just push the inside of the washers on both brands, LG has way better suspensions that are firm and will last longer than any Samsung product.

This machine let me down from the 1st wash. It uses a minuscule amount of water and gently swishes your clothes around. I tried my best to like it but time and time again it just couldn't get the job done, even my toddlers clothing came back dingy. The "heavy duty" mode worked the best to wash clothes with better results, but who has 1.5 hours to wait for each load to complete? I returned this machine within the 2 week return policy, good riddance. I exchanged it for the LG 3770HWA, even though we had to remodel our laundry room for it to fit. The LG 3770HWA is a dream machine, from the 1st wash, the difference was night and day!

I research front loaders and top loaders from Lowes, Home Depot and Best Buy. Once I decided not to get a front loader because they had issues with mold, and leaking at the door and if you didn't spend another $400+ for pedestals, you have to sit on the floor to unload the washer. So top loading 'high efficiency' HE was our choice. Lowes didn't have a matching glass door dryer for LG. We decided on LG after I deciding they make the best top loaders, not necessarily the best front loaders, but I had already eliminated those. So Lowes was out. Best Buy had a better price by $80 on the washer. After going to the store, we got another $100 off plus a $100 store credit card. They delivered for free and took away the old W/D for free (we negotiated the $30 fee), they are better than any car dealer, but you have to ask.

I do like the capacity on this washer, although I will second the many reviewers who noted that those with a shorter wingspan may struggle to get the wet clothes out. Seems to get things clean. My concern, and the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5, is that the clothes get pretty twisted up, even when loading as suggested. I very, very rarely iron and so we just have a few more wrinkles. I suspect this washer is harder on clothes too--for some reason, our lint filter on the dryer is much more full after using the new washer. Could be bigger loads, but the lint doesn't seem proportionate. Still, I like the washer and the happy clean laundry song. And I like doing half the loads.

After a number of washers that marched through this house that was for 6, now for 2 we thought the best was Cabrio, so when the spin cycle beat it to death, thought Duet, the latter rated the worst, smallest, ill assembled but last a few months longer than the rest. When this beauty arrived, it was WOW head & shoulders over anything past. Cycles go from 28 min turbo to over 1.5 hr and settings for most everything under the sun. Two or even three loads vs Duet, easier to load from top + even the glass door top we couldn't afford (+$100) when buying the Cabrio. Important to note that most don't rate how its cleans = "A" depending on getting to know what it likes so at first it's "A-" to "A+" All the other standard ratings like noise, blah blah are going to be tops.

We bought a new house that came with a washer and drier. The washer that came with the house was older and had an agitator in the middle. It got our clothes clean; but, the clothes would get caught and wrapped around the agitator and start to tear. We read a bunch of reviews and settled in this LG washing machine. It works excellently! It is quiet and half the time we forget that it is running until the tune at the end of the cycle plays. It's nice and deep and can fit two sets of queen sheets in at the same time. We are able to wash two king size blankets at the same time and they come out clean and smelling fresh. We have the drier that came with the house still, but we are thinking we will want the matching drier for this washer.

The online reviews of this washer were well worth the research. This washer is terrific. There's no bulky agitator in the center of the tub and still the clothes are cleaned quickly and quietly on the normal cycle. The larger wash tub allows me to wash rugs at home, quickly and easily. I've only used a few of the other cycles. They've all performed well. There are 12 cycles total. The sensors allow the machine to only use the necessary amount of water. This is why a rebate from the water company applies to this machine. Initially I was wary of the lack of control over the water level. This disappeared quickly. This washer is a gem. It gets the job done clean and efficiently. Well done.
