Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.When I decided it was time to replace my old washer, the big question was do I go with a high efficiency washer or the old style washer. There were a lot of negative reviews on the HE washers, but this one seemed to have mostly good reviews and it was currently on sale at a very good price, so I decided to go with it. I have had it for a couple of weeks and, honestly, if I thought I could return it I would. First of all, it does not wash well. There is a lot of instruction in the manual about how to place the clothes in the tub, but the first cycle involves spinning the tub around to “sense” the load, which then sends items further up and clinging to the sides of the tub. This results in some stuff staying there for quite a while after the wash cycle begins before they even get wet and, after watching the wash cycle through various types of loads, I have noticed that some parts of articles never get wet. If fact, the only time everything seems to get wet is the rinse cycle, which does a better job than the wash cycle. The actual wash cycle is short compared to the amount of time this machine spends pausing (for whatever reason!) and spinning. I now use the extra water option for everything. As for the tall tub, I can’t see the point-if a normal load does not wash well, certainly a large load would not. And yes, anyone short will have a hard time retrieving things from the bottom of this tub. I am 5’5” and it is a reach. I love all the new technology that is available now, so I was really excited to have a new gadget, but this is a major fail on all levels. I would much prefer my old washer, where I did not have to worry about what I washed or how I placed it in the washer, just throw stuff in, select temperature and water level, add detergent, softener, bleach, push go and walk away knowing that I would have clean clothes when it was done.

Refer to the following information for how to get the best results from a HE top load washer: Always use a laundry detergent with the HE label. These products are formulated to create fewer suds which is important since so much less water is used. More is not better when there is less water in the mix. Most loads only require one to two teaspoons of HE liquid laundry detergent or one single-dose pack. If you do not use the automatic detergent dispensers, place the detergent in the bottom of the drum BEFORE you add your dirty clothes. All single dose laundry packs must be placed in the bottom of the washer - never the dispenser. This will give the detergent the longest amount of time in the water to help get your clothes clean. When you load a HE top load washer, do not pile the clothes in the center. Evenly distribute the dirty clothes around the edges of the wash plate. This will help balance the load more quickly and speed the wash cycle. Load clothes loosely, and do not load clothes over the maximum guideline on the tub.
