Customers admire the 5.5 Cu. Ft. High-Efficiency Smart Top Load Washer with Steam and TurboWash3D Technology for its large capacity, excellent cleaning performance, and quiet operation. Many appreciate its ease of use and the numerous features it offers. However, some users have noted issues with the spin cycle, including excessively long wash times and occasional malfunctions. The washer's depth has also been cited as a potential drawback for shorter individuals.

This thing is massive. I'm glad I'm tall since a short person would never be able to reach to the bottom! I do a lot of kitten laundry since I foster for a rescue and daily washing of rugs, kitten beds, blankets and towels has bee pretty easy. It does have a problem with those fluffy marshmallow type kitten beds but I may just not have found the correct setting for that. It handled my king sized comforter without any issue. I still am not quite sure how to handle it when the load comes up uneven with the kitten bedding. Often I just pull that item out and toss it in the dryer alone.

Amazing clean clothing seems like there's never enough water as other reviews say. But everything comes out fresh. Talk about capasity.

Very good washer. Able to was King size comforters and pillows. Its spins all the water out anything you wash. Also like the feature you can control spin cycle speed.

I would give this 4-1/2 stars if I could, simply because I think it is a little over-hyped, but it is a good washing machine, works quite well, and has wash cycles that suit our needs.
Cons - as some have mentioned, if you are short, you may need a step stool because it is a BIG wash tub, but for average height people, it is not a problem. If you just have a couple of things to wash, this machine is overkill. It allows only one ‘downloaded’ wash cycle at a time.
Pros - It is huge, good for king sized bed linens, fluffy towels, and the weekly laundry. Good steam and sanitize options, as well as other useful cycles. You can customize a wash load (to some degree) and download it to the machine. It is quiet; however, you will still hear it running, it is a washing machine, after all. Good cleaning action for normal usage. We don’t have a lot of really dirty stuff, so I can’t really compare it to front load or tubs with an agitator, but it does a good job. Finally, we have been very happy with LG products, so it should last a long time.

The features on this washer are great! From the speed wash, to the sanitize cycle you have what you need to get your clothes clean. It's easy to use and really glad I bought this model.

I have been using this washer for a little over a month now and we are loving it. As a family of 5 with littles, we are constantly running big loads of laundry and this machine has been amazing, especially in comparison to our older LG that broke. Thankful for the upgrade!

Large capacity and washes clothes thoroughly in about an hour. Love the steam option and turbo wash feature. There are also a lot of settings available to download in the app which take the guesswork out of what settings to select for specific items. Really happy with this purchase and would highly recommend!

I bought this LG washer because I was having so much trouble with my 14 year old front load Maytag. I am pleasantly surprised what a difference a top load washer makes in the cleanliness of my clothes. You can definitely smell the difference as you take out the clothes.
It is so quiet you don't know it’s on. The App is a feature I love. I know exactly when the wash is done and don’t have to stand there and wait. I can go on about my business and get a notification when it’s done! I think the LG is the best washer I have owned to this day.

I love this LG washing machine! Its huge inside, takes up less space than my front loader, and works way better! I bought it for $1349.99, and now its on sale for $899.99 a month later! Its past the return date, as Best Buy only gives you a couple weeks to return, so I cannot get a price adjustment!

Washer great, don't use drain pan, hammer arrestor

Works great, if you YouTube this or similar model ls you may come across models that "grind". This is false. This is because the washer tray pan, the plastic thing that you can buy at home depot or Lowes that you put under ANY WASHER, curves up towards the center. This is allows any spills to pool towards the edges to keep it easy to clean.
The drum sits low so obviously a curved plastic tray underneath is gonna rub against the center.
All of the reviews that explain this grinding are due to drain pans that are curved. Not the unit, so have peace of mind that I tested it thoroughly for this. I have the 7900 model
I have been using mine without any drain pan and it works great. So don't listen to the reviews about having to return 3 models and that nonsense. I mean do you really buy that lgs engineers would really be that stupid?
If you have to get a drain pan, (not required) then get a flat one, or make one.
And no the washer doesn't leak on the bottom, it works great.
And yes of you want to install water hammer arrestors from Sioux chief they fit nicely on the washer water inlets both hot and cold, with plenty of room. Those prevent any water hammer of you get it. It seems that they may not be required cause the shut off seems to be soft, not sudden which is good.

Alot of bells and whistles that I 'needed' to have when I purchased the unit, but hardly touch now. I do wish the manual did a bit better job explaining what they all did. But overall the washer works well and is quieter than my last washer.

The washer exceeds my expectations. I had a front loader different brand before, and would never go back. I love the top loader and how well it cleans. Lot of options to clean the clothes, towels and bedding. I am 5'6 and have to stretch to get down in the bottom, but that is the only draw back and I can manage it. I love this LG product.

Perfect size , I absolutely Love it, I can wash my blankets , towels without a problem. And the future for extra water is perfect for it. I feel like my clothes feels much cleaner.

This washer is amazing. The tub is enormous. Great for washing large items like comforters. Makes its own determination of how big the load is and uses only the amount of water actually necessary to do the job.
