One word of advice, it does need to be on a even surface. I had this sitting in a "pan" as required by my HOA. The pan had it a little off kilter and gave me a ton of error messages on my first load. Once it was all leveled out, no issues... The app does notify you when your load is done and give you tons of extra "cycles" but honestly haven't had a time I needed it... The built in options are just fine.

Need to be tall to reach bottom of washer

It had something to do about the inherent mildew smell front loading machines. My wife is height challenged and with the new washer she has found it difficult (impossible) to retrieve the wet clothes from the bottom of the washer without the use of mechanical assistance. I am 6' and I have to stretch to reach the clothes. Keep this is mind when purchasing large capacity top loaders.
