They are about 5 years apart and the functionality is about the same. These newer units have "better Smarts" to them, which is nice. because the sound that indicates the laundry is done is kinda low. So we enjoy enjoy receiving the notification on our cellphone/smart devices.

We add fabric softener because the clothes seem crunchy after washing them. It doesn’t seem a quiet as reviewers have stated. It drops Wi-Fi every week.
