I had been looking at this tv for about a year waiting for the price do drop as much as possible. On Memorial Day I noticed a Geek Squad certified one for $1655 that's almost $650 off the list price. I took the plunge & as of now have not regretted spending a single penny. I have two other 55" 4K tvs both newer Sony's & though they are awesome in their own right the LG is even better. I fine tuned the pix myself & it just pops. Can't wait for the NFL to start & see how that looks on it.

I knew I wanted the LG OLED TV, I just hadn't planned to get it until Feb of next year, but a certain young Airedale managed to crash and destroy my plasma set and I had to readjust my plans. Since I had already done the research, including reviews from customers and CNET, it was simply a matter of making the purchase. Best Buy did a great job of having it in stock and the wait for the Geek Squad to install was not that long, though I wish it had been sooner. Watching the kitchen set got old in a hurry. The picture is everything I'd been led to believe, so sharp and clear that it's almost indecent at times. I've had Sony and Samsung LEDs and plasmas, but none of them hold a candle to this OLED picture. I've followed the OLED technology for several years, waiting for it to become affordable for customers other than the Pentagon, and LG has made that happen. Now, it's still expensive compared to everything else on the market, but it is worth it. And just in time for both conventions so a political junkie like me was in hog heaven.

Thanks to organic LEDs, the blacks are very deep and gives a good depth to 4k content. Other format such as 720p and non HD channels do not like as good as the tv always try to upscale the native content. The remote takes a bit time to maneuver but like it overall. The interface to search through different input is amazing. The internal speakers are nothing to write home about to get yourself an external speaker. Wireless are fine but optical connection provides good fidelity.

fantastic pictures. only complain is the ARC doesnt work on bose soundtouch 520, it seem to be manufactory problem after read alot of research online as many had same problem. So if you want to get surround sound from tv to sound system, i end up using hdmi cable for picture and an extra optical cable for surround sound as bose recommend. didnt like to many cable, abit hassle to find it out but it work great after solved problem. it may have same problem with orther sound system too.

Sorry everyone - I'm not wordy and I'm not a techie. Bu the tv is great, my wife likes basketball and the clarity is beyond description (but remember, I'm a not a wordy guy, probably someone else would have no problem describing the clarity). My son set up the remote and that works great too, able to control all devices from the remote. My main responsibility is to make sure the tv is paid for, and so far everyone is patting me on the back to encourage me to keep at it.

I would recommend this TV for anyone who really wants THE BEST TV. 3-D picture and comes with 2 pair of 3-D eyeglasses. No matter how steep of an angle you look from, the picture does not lose quality- it is literally like looking through a window. Very easy on your eyes. More than 10 pounds lighter than competitor TVs stock sound from TV is FAR SUPERIOR to ANY other TV (yeah a soundbar is nice, but seriously- these speakers are actually real speakers).

By far the best television I have ever owned. This images are amazing vibrant; the HDR feature was totally worth the wait on the curved. If you're looking for a solid television that's going to provide you with an immersive viewing experience this is the television for you. Job well done LG.

    Best TV on the Market

I don't write reviews unless the product is exceptional... I'll be brief. My previous TV for the past decade plus was a SONY Bravia LCD 1080 HDTV. It served me well for a long time and is still in service today in my garage. I wanted to upgrade my home theater so I decided to purchase a new TV. I did a lot of shopping online like I normally do, reading lots of reviews. I decided to by local so I went to Best Buy. I went to the store with a preconceived notion that Samsung was the best TV on the market. That thought was pushed by the Best Buy/Samsung rep who helped me. He downplayed the LG OLED and talked up the Samsung Quantum Dot KS8000. Because the Samsung was on sale at the time I originally purchased the 4k KS8000 65". Took it home and watched multiple formats over the course of a week (I.e. movies, tv, sports, etc.). It was a slight improvement over my 10+ year old Sony Bravia; however, when watching in a totally dark room you could see that the tv was lighted via edge lighting (from bottom and top). The darks, especially blacks, were not black...maybe darkish gray. Also the Samsung had a lot of Jitter with motion, especially when watching fast-action movies and sports. The Super-Bowl was horrible! Now for the good stuff, I returned the 65" Samsung KS8000 and exchanged it for a LG 55" OLED C6 3D 4K. It is absolutely, hand-down, the best TV that I have ever owned!!! Contrast is amazing, blacks are absolute blacks, colors are amazing, equally as bright as the Samsung, etc. I prefer the user interface on the LG versus the Samsung, but that's me...others may prefer the Samsung. I could go on and on, but I'll just stop and say THIS IS A GREAT TV! IF YOU WANT THE BEST TV ON THE MARKET, BY LG OLED!

After going to Best Buy several times and looking at TVs and then reading reviews at home, I decided to buy the OLED55C6P TV from LG. I was looking for a good LED 4K TV which also supported passive 3D. There were not too many choices, but there were a few. When I priced those and then saw this TV on sale (pre Super Bowl sale) the price difference wasn't that much. I wasn't really considering OLED at first, but when in the store looking at the various LED and OLED models, OLED clearly was better. Then went I went home and read the reviews, which also discussed picture accuracy and some kind of %, OLED was also much more realistic. The picture quality is truly amazing, it is like each image is a photo. Having a picture that will go completely black is somewhat startling at first, but becomes fairly natural after a while. I used to watch movies on my iPhone 6 sometimes and thought the quality was pretty good, but you get spoiled by this TV. I've only watched a few things in 3D (do not yet have a 3D blu-ray player), but there are some pretty good movies available free on the web, from 3dintv. Mostly nature documentaries. Stunning birds and butterflies and other insects. I would have preferred to get the LG flat model (OLED55E6P), but the price difference was significantly more, and I found I am getting used to the minor curve in the screen. Sounds quality is decent, i believe the flat model has a sound bar and the reviews showed better quality, but this one is fine for what I am watching. Maybe I will invest in a sound system some day. The "Web OS" is good too, and I like how you can point the remote and click very easily rather than have to use lots of button presses. Highly recommend.

My enjoyment in watching TV has increased 100%, thanks to LG for being the first to get OLED on the market. We stream a lot of UK TV and other countries and the picture has improved tremendously. Not to mention Slingbox! Amazon and Netflix movies etc are a joy to watch. Planet Earth on BBC is a great example. Tinkering with the picture is easy enough as all instructions are on You Tube, But takes a little patience to get it to your liking.

I knew I would be getting a great picture based on the reviews I have read and this info was correct. Since this was my first internet enabled set I was somewhat concerned with setup but on first power up, the on screen prompting made set up simple and i was connected and steaming in no time at all - almost Apple-like. The only thing I have not worked out yet is everything including movies has that live action sports look to it. In my last set, I turned the refresh rate down to get rid of that but OLED technology doesn't appear to have a refresh rate adjustment so I've been living with it so far and most likely will just get used to it. If I had any complaint, it would be that Best Buy has dropped the price of this set $300 in the month that I got it and after 15 days there is no price protection plus even then I would have to return the set which is an unrealistic assumption. This set was expensive but it was actually cheaper than the 46" 8 year old Samsung that I replaced and that was a mid grade set.
