This Is The Best TV That I Ever Owned!
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The LG C1 OLED is the best TV I have ever owned or purchased. It’s fantastic for watching TV shows, movies, and gaming, even during the day. However, I find that watching TV and gaming is even better in the dark, which is my preferred setting. The viewing angles are excellent—you can comfortably watch from the middle or the side. However, if you’re in a sunny room, you will need 100% blackout curtains to prevent sunlight from reflecting off the screen. I noticed a significant improvement in brightness after adding those curtains to my bedroom. I also followed some calibration settings from a YouTube calibrator, which enhanced the colors and made them pop even more. I’ve heard that OLEDs are at high risk for burn-in issues, which is why I decided to invest in an expensive five-year warranty for around $270 to protect my investment. It’s frustrating enough that the TV costs over $1,500! I also had to take an hour-and-a-half drive to Best Buy in Hammond, LA to go and pick up this TV because it wasn't available near me! So far, everything has been great. I've had this TV for over two years, and I haven't encountered any burn-in issues. I’ve played games with map HUDs that stay on the screen, and I’ve watched NFL and NCAA games with team logos and icons displayed for extended periods. Despite this, the TV still looks brand new and runs well. I might consider buying another magic remote from Amazon. I previously had to purchase the correct magic remote online, as the Best Buy store in Hammond, LA, didn't have the right one that came with this TV. That’s one of the pros and cons of making an open-box purchase.

It's a good TV overall with a major caveat
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Now that I've had this for a few months, I feel comfortable making this review. I bought this TV as an upgrade to lower-tier, Vizio tvs. I was getting sick of their poor performance times and laggy interface. In terms of speed, this tv is FAST. It boots up fast, operates without ever slowing down, and has a ton of settings and options that make this UI awesome! My BOSE soundbar works seamlessly with it. The picture is very impressive in dim/low light scenes and as a horror movie fan/gamer, that is appreciated. My big issue with this tv, that prevents it from getting 5 stars is its performance during bright scenes - specifically those with a sky. You see, in games and movies, when a bright sky is shown, it is shown with horizontal lines stretching across the screen. It looks gross and ridiculous for a TV of this price range. Feel free to google this if you don't believe me, support forums are packed with people ranting about this. With movies and TV it's annoying, but in video games, it is the most noticeable and off-putting thing I've experienced - to the point that I have considered buying a different TV. While I have the warranty, I have heard mixed things on getting a panel replacement to fix this issue. Many say it won't make a difference. One last piece of advice for this tv if you buy it: put the stand on the tv while it's still in the box w/padding. The instructions say to remove everything, but even with 2 people, it was difficult to set up this way given the weight and shape. Slightly pulling the bottom part of the tv out of the box and attaching the stand that way is 10x easier.

Works great for gaming.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first 4k TV and smart TV. I upgraded to this TV when I was luckily able to get my hands on a PS5. I can say for gaming, this TV is fantastic. It is literally built for gaming and when paired with a PS5, it works flawlessly. The picture is fantastic, there are multiple settings and viewing modes so you can tweak any viewing experience exactly as you want. From streaming to gaming, this TV is probably my favorite thing I own. There is no lag, it works with the PS5 system to output the best setting, and I have it set up where it turns on my system while I turn the TV on. There are a lot of great things to discover with this TV and it has changed how I consumed media. Definitely worth the upgrade if you are looking.

Would make different choice
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice enough TV, but thought it was overpriced even though other brands were more expensive. Good picture, but have to get used to it - big contrast between people and background/scenery. Old TV made it all look realistic, while background looks fake on this TV. Base is not what it appears - it's plastic and behind the TV the base is only about 1 foot wide, not the 3 feet that the front "cover" makes it look like. Unfortunately you don't see this in store, as these size TVs are all wall-mounted. Sound quality is so-so. Some movies/shows need sound to be cranked all the way up to 100, while others are fine at 25-30. Pointer remote is nice. Operating the TV is not very intuitive. Also disappointed at not being able to hook up some older equipment like Wii. It's a decent TV, but I wouldn't buy it again. If installing yourself, you need at least 2 people. If you buy this TV, save original packaging in case you decide to return it!

Absolutely perfect
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is absolutely perfect. I am a huge gamer and bought the TV to strictly play my Xbox Series X and sometimes my PC games on it. With the 120 HZ options games that support it run extremely smooth. Also with the screen being paper thin the speakers aren’t too bad either but I would still recommend a sound bar. Can without a doubt suggest this TV to anyone in the market especially if you are using it like I do. PROs: Image Quality (Oled is amazing) Setup very easy 120 HZ options A ton of app options Supports Dolby Vision and Atmos CONs: The tv stand is odd when you are setting it up for the first time

YOWZA that's a great picture!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally bought the Vizio OLED but it started having issues powering on right at the end of my return period. I am SO glad I was able to upgrade to the C1. It is an absolute stunner! The picture quality is great no matter what source I throw at it. Xbox games are just absolutely pristine and 4K/HDR/DV content from Netflix and Disney+ is flawless. I don't use the WebOS platform much since I have an Apple TV 4K but it's serviceable - I just don't buy into the "smart" TV platforms. Seriously, don't even consider another TV. Save up if you have to but you will not be disappointed if you go with this at any size.

Amazing all around
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fixes the near black detail level issues of last year's CX. Very slightly brighter than the CX as well. Easily the best TV for gaming money can buy. Noticeably better image quality than even the best LED TVs.

Amazing experience
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, I live in a small apartment therefore 55" was just the best size. Also, I kinda think that bigger the screen, worse the quality of the image that you get from your TV so keep that in mind. Second, OLED. I am not gonna argue with anyone on this. It is literally a different experience. I would never consider LED or QLED tech when there is a OLED. Third, I am gaming so this one made me satisfied on my gaming experience. I would go for the C2 series which is the 2022 years model but keep in mind that that is more expensive. So if you are looking for something good and not that expensive this C1 series is what you need.

Excellent TV for Movies, PS5 and Series X
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is excellence when it comes to connecting hdmi 2.1 devices. It is so intuitive that it displays the hdmi device by name without you having to label it yourself. It reads PS5 or Xbox system, even the model # of my Sony 4kBD player. Everything works. The remote feels very good in your hand, it's perfect and actually quite nice. The picture is of course stellar specially in HDR movies and games look awesome running on it. This is the best TV right now that offers all the features you want. If you have or are looking to obtain a PS5 or Series X, this is the TV you need because all the other TVs have issues that are not going to let you enjoy your consoles at the fullest.

Incredible value.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing tv. As someone who is big into display technology, you know that Lg and Samsung pretty much make all the panels that we see daily in smart phones and tvs, and imo lg just has everything down better. From the remote, to the smart tv, to the sound quality, to the color reproduction. It just can’t be beat. The sound will blow you away almost as much as the picture quality. It’s undervalued in tvs like this and really negates the necessity for a sound bar. For the current price point and available technology this is a great value. You aren’t getting the latest thing out there but the price point is getting you a top of the line tv and refresh rate.

Perfect Gaming Monitor and TV
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Gorgeous picture, nice deep blacks. Put this in my basement bedroom and it's perfect. I got it to use for gaming since its got 120hz native refresh and hdmi 2.1. Hooking up a ps5 and a gaming pc with a 3090 in it. Runs like a dream. No ghosting. Motion is beautiful. even playing first person shooters on it is silky smooth. I can compete just as well as when im using my 1440p gaming monitor. there is no stutter at all. highly recommend. The thing is awkward to setup though, the weight is distributed funny, and its so thin it's hard to pick up

Great TV overall especially for the money
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I saw this TV at the store next to the C2. The TV looked terrible next to the C2 however I suspected it was the settings on the TV and not the actual TV. I was able to confirm my suspicions and decided to purchase the TV. I am not disappointed. This TV looks awesome. The price was great and when connected to a PS5 the menu changes to make it more like a gaming monitor. This was a great purchase, to the point that now I'm considering upgrading the "newish"(2018) family room TV to one of these. If you are on the fence about getting one of these, go ahead and do it. you won't be disappointed.

Excellent quality/features; Base design flaw
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.LG OLED 55C1PUB: Overall my star ranking by category looks like this: PICTURE QUALITY … 5; SOUND FROM TV … 4; REMOTE CONTROL … 4; USER MANUAL (LACK THEREOF) AND ACCESSABILITY … 1; TV BASE AND ENGINEERING DESIGN FLAWS … 1; USER FRIENDLY OPERATIONS AND SETTINGS … 4 I have recently had a series of new and out-of-the box problems with multiple TVs of another high-end brand. I lost confidence in that brand after decades of loyalty to them and decided to try the LG OLED. I have felt a little reluctant to try LG because my personal track record with them has been a bit disappointing on several different types of their products including monitors, DVD player, and refrigerator. After weighing many different PROS and CONS I decided to take a gamble and purchase the LG OLED 55C1PUB along with a Geek Squad Protection Plan. PICTURE QUALITY: The picture quality is excellent. I have nothing negative to say about that and I think it would be hard to find a better picture quality in another brand. However, anyone considering an OLED/QLED purchase should research long-term reliability of it vs. an LED. Early reports on OLED/QLED longevity have not been favorable. USER FRIENDLY: The user interface with the settings is relatively easy and intuitive. However there is a plethora of options that I don’t think one could glean on their own. A user manual is necessary to explore and understand all of the options. USER MANUAL: Of course a paper User Manual is NOT provided. That is very frustrating. Neither can an on-line version be easily found. I had to go to the LG web-site and go to live help chat to get instructions on where to find a link to the manual. After I got there, it was view only and could not be printed. What is LG thinking? Who wants to run to their computer to get a full screen view of a user manual each time they have a specific question? REMOTE CONTROL: The remote control seems to be smaller than most other brands and it has less clutter. Which usually means that there is more hide-and-seek screen probing for the user. The remote has a scroll wheel that produces an on-screen floating cursor which takes some getting use to. I think I will like it after getting familiar with it. Because of the scrolling wheel and its unique application to only the LG TV, I’m betting that it would be hard to find an after-market remote that is compatible. I am also betting that an original equipment remote replacement would be quite expensive. SOUND: I was astonished by the quality of sound coming from the TV speakers. It is much better than my experience with many other major TV brands. The TV comes with Dolby Atomos sound and a listening option preset called Clear Voice. I am highly impressed. I have a new LG6Y sound bar and am a bit disappointed in it. I got it as an exchange through the Geek Squad Protection Plan when my Sony sound bar malfunctioned. Since the LG6Y was an exchange (after owing the Sony for 2.5 years) I doubt that Best Buy would give me a refund in lieu of an exchange. If they would, I might be tempted to just listen to the quality sound from the 55C1PUB speakers. Don’t get me wrong, the sound is good but does not produce the rich and deep base sounds that come from a good sound bar. (See my review on the LG6Y sound bar.) BASE: My TV sits on a TV stand. My LG6Y sound bar sits in front of the TV. The TV infrared sensor is well below the top of the sound bar. Thus the sound bar blocks the signal from the TV remote and it blocks about ¾ inch of the bottom of the view of the screen. NOT SMART LG. Someone at LG engineering didn’t think things through. The TV base should have been elevated to a height that would not be blocked by its own line of sound bars. I contacted LG and they had no solution. The TV base engineering flaws are compounded by the fact that there are no portals available to route cables through and eliminate cable clutter. The TV is heavy. It weighs almost 50 pounds. That must be the reason LG designed a (short) 39 inch wide base that is 10 inches deep. An ascetically displeasing problem is that if you place a sound bar in front of the TV, the power and HDMI cable must noticeably be wrapped around the ends of the 39 inch wide base. There are no portals in the base to route the cords through. If you like the appearance of cable clutter then this is the type of base you would like to own. SCREEN THICKNESS: It’s true the screen thickness is an amazing 3/16th of an inch, but that is only for the top half of the TV. The bottom half is where the electronics are housed. That section is about 1 ¾ inch thick. I would think that if you are mounting the TV to a wall, the two different variations in screen area thickness could pose some unusual mounting challenges. My preference, for convenience purposes, would be to have the screen area thickness the same from top to bottom in the style of most of the LED chassis. However the extra wide bottom half of the 55C1PUB may be what allows the placement of superior and larger sound speakers. Overall my star ranking by category looks like this: PICTURE QUALITY … 5; SOUND FROM TV … 4; REMOTE CONTROL … 4; USER MANUAL (LACK THEREOF) AND ACCESSABILITY … 1; TV BASE AND ENGINEERING DESIGN FLAWS … 1; USER FRIENDLY OPERATIONS AND SETTINGS … 4

Worth the wait!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replaced my 10 year old LG LED TV. Almost bought the LG CX, I'm so happy that I've waited. Bought it on sale ($300 off). Colors are vibrant and the Black are very impressive, doesn't look like Grayish Black, especially during very dark scenes. Truly a great experience watching any content on this TV whether HDR or SDR. Also bought this TV while waiting for the PS5 to be widely available to REAL gamers (not resellers). Sound from the built-in speakers is really clear and loud, Not regrets with this TV and hoping to use this for 10 years or more.

Some other brands can make make a $1000 oled tv but has missing picture quality like great reflections but this Tv has it all great oled, you can play up to 120-144 fps with the gaming hdmi mode and it has apple AirPlay for iPhone users and a smart app what else can you ask for Lg has surprised me with this one! This Tv also had so many 5 star reviews so I couldn’t deny giving it a shot and I am proud I trusted the reviews! 10/10

||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Vreat tv or monitor. I use it for series X,Ps5, and a 4090 powered pc. Its perfect. Native 4k at 120hz on pc is literally game changing. Getting this tv was like a game console generation upgrade. The true blacks in hdr on Dead Space remake was a standout, but all hdr content looks amazing on this set. I dont watch much tv but what i have on this set has not disappointed. All in all a great piece of tech, particularly for next gen or high end PC gaming.
