Best picture in the OLED business LG is far more superior than Samsung, no comparison!

Purchased a C5 55” for my bedroom and was a perfect fit for my space. It is super bright around 1,200 nitts and I find myself changing the picture setting to cinema to slighty lower the brightness when watching at night. That would be the only concern I have with this TV and everything else is pristine. I like what LG did with the remote this year as well, simple button layout, light weight, and you can also use your phone as the remote as well.

Two lines appeared on my tv screen while I was watching a movie. I then smelt something burning and quickly turned off the tv. After a minute, I attempted to turn on the tv and it was completely blank. The panel had burn marks, so I’m assuming this was a burn in problem. Which is crazy because I only had the tv for 8 days. I’m so disappointed about this but luckily I was able to return it. Beautiful while it lasted. Buyers beware!
Hi, Elijah. Thank you for sharing your experience with your LG TV (OLED55C5PUA) model. We understand how important it is to have your unit deliver reliable performance right from the start. The issue you described—lines on the screen, burning smell, and panel damage—is not typical of OLED burn‑in, which usually appears gradually as image retention. What you experienced sounds more like an electrical or panel fault.
For future OLED use, one helpful step is to enable OLED Panel Care features such as Pixel Refresher and Screen Shift under Settings > Picture > OLED Panel Care. These tools are designed to maintain panel health and prevent image retention. You can find more guidance here: https://www.lg.com/us/support/product/lg-OLED55C5PUA.AUS. My first Oled purchase replacing a Hisesnse U8H that had backlight problems. This TV is very light in weight and was very simple to set up. I have it connected to a Bose Ultra Smart soundbar, an Apple TV 4k and a PS5 and I use Directv for streaming. All work fine with no problems. The stock speakers in the tv are less than great and you definately need a soundbar. Tried out the built-in WebOS system and it was easy to navigate. It will allow you to stream a huge amount of content including local channels. I see others bashing the provided magic remote and don't know why. I do use the Apple 4k remote 90% of the time, but you still need the magic remote for things like setup and picture modes and ajustments. Spend some time on Youtube for using the remote and you'll have it down in no time. The out of the box picture modes are ok, but definately need some tweaks and calibration adjustments to go from just ok to WOW, Again Youtube can assist with these. Got this from BB on sale for $1299. This tv is WOLED technology not quantum dot, but comapred to the cost of the LG Gallery series or the Samsung quantum dots at $1000 or more, it more than holds its own in color, brightness and clarity with the right settings. Super happy I went with it.

Pros:
- Image quality is a huge improvement over the 15 year old LCD TV that it replaced: deep blacks, excellent sharpness and color even in brightly lit rooms
- Built-in Airplay and Chromecast
- Optical and eARC outputs for external speakers/receivers
- Over-the-air TV reception works well
Cons:
- Sound quality is just fair, although maybe due to where we installed it (in a cabinet)
- "Magic" remote isn't so magical. Using a Harmony remote to control it. Harmonys have been discontinued by Logitech, but the Harmony programming site still works. Tell your Harmony that the TV is an LG C4 and all will work.
- Lots of bloatware/adware on the TV as delivered, especially on the apps page. These can be disabled via the menu options.
- Many newer TVs, this one included, track and report your viewing habits. Pay attention to which features/apps you enable and their privacy terms of service. Do an Internet search for ""new york times tv is spying on you" for privacy tips.

Amazing picture quality and deep blacks. The colors look vibrant, the sound is impressive, and the AI features make everything smoother. Perfect TV for movies and gaming.

I bought this TV for my wife, replacing an old non-OLED Samsung of the same size. It is in a room with a vaulted ceiling and two stories of windows. I was worried that an OLED TV would not be bright enough in this environment. There was no problem, and the colors and dark contrast are more vivid than on the old TV. My wife is happy with the purchase.

This TV is absolutely amazing for the price!
I originally planned to buy a monitor for my PC, but after reading some reviews, I decided to go with this TV instead—and I'm so glad I did. It completely blew my mind with its vibrant colors and stunning picture quality. The support for 120Hz at 4K and 144Hz at 1440p makes a huge difference, especially for gaming. Totally recommended for gamers looking for great performance without breaking the bank!

Excellent quality tv. Oled is the best. We researched and were originally going to buy a samsung. Then the sales guy advised it’s the same equipment inside the tv, so we went with LG which was more affordable. Great deal. The only downside is the remote control is difficult to use at times.

Coming from a LG C4 this TV looks great and has more Brightness. The new smart remote is also nice. Love the fact that you can view two screens at once. I use it for pc gaming and sim racing at 144hz with G Sync and works great!

Great TV best picture going. Excellent black tones and color contrast . The smart TV functions with AI are really impressive . The OLED format is defineitly a game changer in regards to a premium TV package. This TV is worth every penny extra when compared to other TV formats . Go for it you will not regret it !

I have been using the C series OLED LG since 2020. I have one in the living room and one in my daughters room and purchased one for my bedroom Aug2025. Absolutely the best OLED out there. Great picture and the WebOS is fantastic as well. I am a gamer and bought specifically for gaming. I am extremely pleased with this product!

I upgraded from a basic Samsung tv, and this is a world of a difference. I especially like the 120hz refresh rate for gaming. It is very bright with the OLED display and I have zero complaints

This is my first OLED and so far the colors are fabulous and dark scenes have features! It is also my first LG after many Samsungs. I can also view the screen from an angle much better than my QLED.
I find the LG search feature a little annoying because instead of listing the names of apps that offer the same show, it shows pictures. I do not know the logos of the various apps and cannot read the tiny print on the logo. I guess eventually I will learn but a list would be so much easier. Ie Apple TV, Prime, Pluto, etc.
I am ok with the remote- at least it has batteries and isn’t solar. I find the center select button- which also scrolls- to be too sensitive and scrolls when I don’t want to. It has an adjustment somewhere in the menus which maybe will improve this.
