I am 100% sure that anyone will be happy with this TV and that's why I feel like it deserves 5 stars. I was choosing between Sony A95L, Samsung S95D and this LG G4 that are all competitors in OLED TV space. I am pretty sure that I would have been happy with any of them but this one stole the show since (after long research) I decided to get it. This is my experience with this TV. Things that I liked immediately: 1) It is incredibly bright w/o losing picture quality. I always wanted an OLED TV but was concerned about OLED panels generally speaking lacking in brightness. This TV is a game changer. It can get extremely bright, even too bright if you want it too. Easily competes with brightness levels of other panel technologies. 2) Contrast and blacks are amazing. This TV is popping in color. Blacks are true blacks. If the picture is black, you can't tell if TV is on or off. Same picture quality from any viewing angle. 3) Works amazingly well with my existing set up that consists of Sony AV Receiver Surround Sound System and a universal Sofabaton U2 remote. 4) HDR on this TV is bonkers. As soon as you hook it up to Apple TV and PS5 (and others I assume), they detect that this TV supports HDR and prompt you to set HDR up which takes less a minute. It feels like it was made for HDR consumption and it works without any hiccups with my PS5 and Apple TV. 5) 4k 120hz HDR mode works great with my PS5 and PC. Picture is buttery smooth without losing brightness at 120HZ with Variable Refresh Rate. TV automatically detects PS5 and PC and puts them in Gaming picture mode that you can customize to your preference. 6) Non HDR content (SDR) looks incredible as well. This TV also does a remarkable job at scaling down non 4k content and it actually makes it look good. Other pros that I want to mention: 1) Easy to set up and Easy to navigate TV menu 2) Looks great on the included stand. 3) Included remote feels good to use. (I prefer using my own universal remote due to the amount of devices I have connected) 4) Every single input can have it's own picture mode selected and customized, and the TV will remember them even if something like power outage occurs. 5) Automatically connects to the last input used last time without having to change it every time when TV is turned on. (Gotta set it up in settings) 6) Amazing for Console and PC gaming. I bought a high end OLED Alienware AW2725DF monitor (returned) and it just was not bright enough at all and based on the charts I saw, all gaming OLED monitor brightness right now just plain sucks. I don't understand why since TVs are so good now at that. 7) UI is responsive enough and was not giving me any issues so far. 8) Generally speaking I have not had any lags or just unexplainable things happen to this TV. My CONS: 1) Price. This TV is not cheap and as of this review date, the entry 55" costs $2600 + tax. Personally I feel like it's well worth the price. You are paying for a premium product. 2) You HAVE to have at least 2 people to take it out of the box and put it on the desired space even for a 55in model. Important points that I cannot comment about since I don't use them: 1) Their Smart TV integrated WebOS for content consumption. After initial setup, I just abandoned it since I use Apple TV and other devices instead as my main device for content consumption. Integrated OS usually totally suck on all TVs and I ignore them all together (it can be laggy, unresponsive or lacking in features). Just get an Apple TV, Google TV stick, or Firestick. 2) TV speakers. I use my surround system and I don't ever use TV speakers since they are usually terrible on all TVs. I recommend at least a sound bar to properly hear human dialogue for anyone. Final conclusion: This TV is great for anyone.

Let me tell you, grabbing the LG 55" G4 OLED evo in "open box good condition" wasn't just a purchase; it felt like unearthing a hidden gem! Honestly, the TV arrived looking absolutely flawless, defying its "open box" label entirely. It's truly incredible to get such a massive discount on a flagship product that still feels brand new. If you're on the fence about open-box, this experience proves it's where smart shoppers win big. The picture quality? It's not just good, it's breathtaking. LG's OLED evo panel blankets your screen with perfect blacks and an almost unbelievable contrast that pulls you right into the scene. And the brightness – for an OLED, it's genuinely impressive, making HDR content burst with colors so vibrant and accurate, you'll swear you're looking out a window. The design is pure elegance, so sleek and minimalist it effortlessly transforms into a piece of art once wall-mounted. webOS is a dream to use – intuitive, zippy, and the Magic Remote is, well, magic. It just makes navigating your entertainment so much smoother. And for all you gamers out there, prepare to be amazed. With four HDMI 2.1 ports, this G4 is an absolute powerhouse. We're talking buttery-smooth 4K at 120Hz, no more tearing with VRR, ALLM, G-Sync, and FreeSync Premium. Your games will look and feel incredible. Now, while the built-in sound quality is decent, I highly recommend pairing this visual masterpiece with a dedicated sound system. In a nutshell, the LG G4 isn't just an exceptional TV; it's a statement. And choosing an "open box good condition" unit is, without a doubt, the savvy move. You get to experience all the cutting-edge picture, stunning design, and next-level gaming features of a premium TV, but with a price tag that feels like you've beaten the system. Seriously, if you spot one, jump on it – you won't regret this win!

The LG OLED evo AI 55" tv is the best tv I have ever owned. I don't buy tv's very often. My last tv which was also an LG I bought 8 years ago. All I can say is LG G4 series is just simply amazing! This is the first time I spent this kinda of money for a tv and was skeptical to. But once I got it all set up and started using it I was blown away! The colors, the blacks, the whites makes watching tv on a whole other level. And playing video games on this tv is, wow, amazing. My gaming PC on this tv at 144hz is remarkable. If you're thinking about getting a G4 series, just do it, you won't be disappointed.

This is the best TV I've ever had. Picture quality is great, sounds great, calibration was easy as most of the settings were at the correct settings, over all a great TV. The only negatives would be the price had me scared to even move this TV. The stand weighs a lot so the whole time I'm thinking it's going to snap the TV in half as I put it on. Thankfully nothing happened but I don't ever want to move this TV ever again.

I've had 4 different high refresh OLED gaming monitors and I've never been satisfied. I would just sell one and try a different one. I had the ultrawide 175Hz, 4K 240Hz and two different 360Hz at 1440p. All OLEDs. I have a 7800X3D and a 4090. I wasn't a fan of 4K because I like frame rate more than resolution. But this TV looks so incredible that i don't even care what the frame rate is. It's as bright as a Mini LED but it's OLED picture quality. Every single time that I turn it on, I still can't believe how incredible it is. I also have a 4K player for movies. It's amazing there too. You've never seen HDR like this. I don't know how they got it so bright, but they did. Nothing else touches this TV.

Good TV with disappointing image processing

What the TV does well, it does quite well. The gaming features are some of the best in the industry, especially if you want low input lag, near-instant pixel response times, VRR, 144hz, ALLM, and both support for Gsync and AMD Freesync. And of course, each of the 4 HDMI ports are full 48gbps bandwidth. It’s an OLED, so contrast within games gives them a whole new special quality that only OLED inky blacks can deliver. I also got this exact TV because reviewers everywhere said the image processing is nearly as good as SONY’s. However, this is not what I’ve found to be true. If you’re watching true 4k content, or even good 1080p content, then yes, the image quality will be quite good. But for lower resolution content, which I consume a lot of on streaming devices, such as sporting events that are in 720p on Peacock, the image looks terrible. Even when I disable all of the settings in the Clarity section (or use FILMMAKER mode, which does this by default), the image processing, specifically the upscaling quality, makes the image look extremely over-processed. It basically looks like the image has been over-sharpened. It makes gradients blend together, which results in a complete loss of fine detail, when it tries to enhance the edges of objects. It just looks incredibly digital and fake. On my old Vizio 2019 QLED, it’s true that the upscaling doesn’t result in an image that looks as sharp, but when you apply sharpening on my Vizio it does it in a more analog-ish way; it just looks more natural. I compared upscaling images on Rtings.com (but only after I was over my 15-day return window), and I can see that SONY’s is superior to both my Vizio and the LG G4. There is so much to like about this TV, but this is the one thing that I can’t get over. I just wished I had realized it sooner. I would’ve returned it for one of the SONY Bravias. I did a lot of research online about this issue, and everyone appears split on this topic. Some say it looks great; others are struggling, like me. I think it comes down to how sensitive you are about fine details and a natural vs digital look. One more thing I don’t like is how, during some video games, and due to various OLED-specific things, like ABL, when there is a very quick, fast, and bright flash of light, part of the screen dims in luminance, while other parts of the screen brightens and turns a reddish hue. This only occurs on a select few games. I noticed this on the Witcher 3 when casting the Igni sign, especially in sunny daytime scenes. It seems like dynamic tone mapping gets messed up for a few milliseconds before returning to normal. This is highly distracting, but just barley sufferable. I think I’ll get used to it, but for a premium product, I shouldn’t have to. Another negative thing is with motion processing and how some settings are completely disabled in certain modes. For example, if I connect my Xbox or Chromecast, and use them as streamers, I should be able to use all the Clarity settings I want. And for the most part, you can. But if you enable 4:4:4 passthrough on the HDMI input, this will essentially treat whatever device you have as if it were a PC, it disables things like TruMotion (LG’s motion interpolation) and Real Cinema (designed to address judder). And before you say: “oh, well you won’t be able to tell the difference between 444 chroma subsampling vs 422,” you are wrong. I can absolutely tell the difference. Colors are more true-to-life vivid and accurate. It just makes the picture look more brilliant with full 444 chroma. It’s slight, but I am sensitive to this. But since this is an OLED, it does suffer from judder, due to the near-instant pixel response time. If you’re using a source that has to do a 3:2 pulldown, due to fps mismatch with 24fps content on 60hz HDMI external devices, then you will experience judder. This results in a non-cinematic motion, simply because it’s way too juddery. Having Real Cinema will combat this and deliver what the content creator intended. This is fine for sources that are 120hz or with devices that do their own content matching, but I’ve found my experience to by very juddery when not using the built-in LG apps, and instead relying on external devices, which I prefer. What I really need LG to do is allow us to use BOTH 444 chroma subsampling AND allow us to use all the features in the Clarity settings menu. It should be user choice, not LG determining what everyone wants with a ham-fisted hammer. Despite all the negatives in my review, it’s still a good TV. It’s just not what I thought I was getting.

Coming from a LG C2, which was my first OLED TV, I knew the jump in overall quality was going to be considerable, but I couldn’t imagine what was coming. At last minute I was deciding between this and the Sony Bravia 9, and I couldn’t be happier about my decision, superb image processing, brightness, overall performance both in SDR and HDR content, upscaling lower resolution content while maintaining bright and colorful scenes. Achieving all of this without the need to dive deeply into the settings or needed to be professionally calibrated, which in my opinion is a huge deal, especially for non tech savvy users.

We finally took a leap of faith from our very old flat screen 1080p HD Sony to this 55" G4 series Oled. Can't believe the picture quality and the difference in gaming jam sessions for the grand kids. You can let the AI do the picture and sound set-up or you can customize every thing your self. Very impressed by the sound system this TV has but remember it makes a big difference if it is wall mounted or on the stand that is provided. Would highly recommend the "G4 Series" . We did upgrade our sound bar to a 9.2.4 which means nine front firing speakers two 12" sub woofers two back speakers and two vertical surround sound speakers. At any time you can switch to the TV speakers if you don't want to keep everybody awake. The AI function for this LG is phenomenal for it automatically detects which format the movie was filmed but it will make adjustments for the best picture and sound possible. The eARC capabilities is a major plus. This LG is definitely a "Smart WebOS TV...OLED evo AI Hope it lasts half as long as our Sony which still works !!

The LG Oiled G4 is indeed a remarkable advancement in display technology, offering a noticeably brighter screen compared to its predecessor, the G3. This enhanced brightness significantly improves visibility in various lighting conditions, making it ideal for both indoor and outdoor use. Additionally, the 140 Hz refresh rate is a game-changer for users who prioritize smooth and responsive visuals. This faster refresh rate ensures that actions on the screen are seamless and fluid, providing a superior experience for gamers, video streamers, and anyone who appreciates crisp motion in their digital content. Overall, the combination of brighter display and rapid refresh rate makes the LG Oiled G4 a desirable choice for those looking to upgrade their visual experience.

LG always has amazing picture quality and it is definitely much brighter than my LG C1. The 55 inch has a nice durable stand that comes with it and it has 2 height adjustments which is nice if you plan on putting a sound bar underneath it. The deep blacks are beautiful and the anti reflective coating does a great job and looks very bright in a bright room with lighting. Definitely worth the purchase!

Great picture. Okay interface. Love this TV. Wish it were a different OS than WEB O/S but not really a big deal. The ARC channel is constantly searching for hardware so this makes it impossible to use bluetooth headphones with the TV if there is a sound bar hooked to the ARC HDMI input. If the headphones are selected as audio source the TV keeps reverting back to the sound bar instead. It’s like it gives priority to the ARC channel and if there is an audio device like a sound bar present it will kick out any other audio device. So when the headset pairs, it is good for about 20 seconds then the TV switches back to the sound bar. The only work-around I found was to physically unplug the sound bar. After searching forums online this is a common issue. Eventually I put a smart electric plug that I can turn off with my phone or with the LG Home Hub on the TV. With the sound bar electrical source cut off then the headphones work as they should..

I have an LG C2 from 2020 and it is a very good TV and works great with my Xbox, PS5 and PC. I purchased the G4 about a month ago and it is Awesome. The updated components really make a difference. I can run my Alienware PC with a RTX4090 graphics card at full 4K HDR. Destiny 2 never looked so good and smooth with the Higher Refresh Rate. Now the streaming is faster and looks Awesome with Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+ and all of my Movies on Vudu now Fandango. It is a little pricey, but I'm glad I spent the extra for the G4 instead of the C4. I bought it when they had a little sale and 24 months 0%. My main use is Gaming and TV second. Speakers are Ok, but the great part is the updated blue tooth which allows me to use my really good Headsets. I ordered the TV online and had it delivered to my House. Best Buy makes it very easy and convenient.

Absolutely stunning TV, once you get it all configured how you want it. The settings menus do tend to be a little restrictive depending on what HDMI device you're using. For example, connecting a game console will grey out a lot of settings and initiate Game Mode. But once you figure out how the TV works you can do whatever you need. Despite this initial difficulty, the TV works so well and looks so beautiful that I still give it 5 stars. Support for DTS is a huge plus if you use an AVR and 4K Blu-ray player.

Ordered this open-box "Excellent," it came literally wrapped in plastic wrap and tape which did not inspire confidence for an "Excellent" item, but it was fine. The display wasn't scratched, and the body had no damage I could see from a cursory inspection. I wasn't super concerned about minor scratches for the price, but for an open-box "Excellent" item I would expect the box with all accessories. As for the display itself, it's excellent. Anything good you've heard about this display is true, it is definitively THE living room TV. We have it set next to a window and it's plenty bright enough to overcome ambient sunlight, HDR looks stunning, blacks look detailed, reflections aren't oppressive. Always happy with how LG makes their TVs, and will be buying one again.

Just what the title Says…. I have had OLED Tv’s fir the past seven years. Specifically the LG C series and i thought that model of Series was awesome but boy was i wrong……The G4 series is beyind anything i thought was possible in every way. When compared to my previous C9, the G4 blows it out of the water. Yes this is more expensive but it is worth it. Also buy the 5 year Geek squad warranty as its extra insurance and worth it as its the best warranty in the Industry as that is how i was able to get this G4…. My Previous C9 TV had the dreaded burn in issues that OLED TV's can be prone to but if your smart and putchased the Greek Squad warranty then you dont have to worry about that as Best Buy actually replaced my TV and gave me store credit to purchase a new one. YES YOUR HEARD THAT CORRECTLY. I was amazed aat how easy the process was and its nice to know that a company stands behind the warranty thst they sell. EVERYONE from start to finish was amazing and it truly was the best experience ive had with Best Buy and ive been a customer for 30 years. ALSO on a side note, i orignally got the Sony Bravia 8 for my return TV but It wasnt the same as my LG C9 when i got it home so Best Buy exchanged it for the G4 with no issues to make sure i was happy with my putchase. Long story short is if your thinking of getting this TV or are on the fence of buying a different TV then please take my advice and purchase the G4. You WILL NOT be Disappointed

It’s very thin and modern which is what I was seeking, it looks great on the wall. Watching movies is next level, but i don’t notice much difference when I’m watching normal TV or sports. Be sure to change the sound setting to AI - it makes a huge difference in sound quality. What i hate about the TV is the remote control and the magic pointer (which you can’t turn off). Overall, it’s a solid purchase, but I’m not sure it’s worth the price tag.

I unpacked the TV and was able WITH assistance to set it up on the stand and connect it to my Denon DRA-900H reciever in an hour. No problems. I am able to use LAN where it is used so it connected to everything in minutes with webOS. I like the Magic remote with the "point & shoot" feature and it does make navigation easy. Let me add, it takes a little time to use the feature intuitively since your aim and pointer location can be off in the beginning but once you get the feel of it, things are more natural. But through it all, it's all about the picture. And it is brilliant. I use it in a bright room using it day and night watching all content and so far, streaming quality in 4K is beautiful. Lots of settings for the geeks out there with connectivity for using it from monitor to hub. I bought my TV during a reduced-price event which happened to be this past President's Day Sale. For whatever reason, Best Buy reduced the price again and I scored the difference with their Matching Price Guarantee.

I was at first a bit skeptical about getting an LG TV. I decided to make a change since the last TV (Samsung) I purchased died on me after 8 years and I heard really good things and reviews about this model. The panel was the issue on my Samsung. The G4 OLED TV came with a 5 year warranty on the panel. The picture and quality of this TV is exceptional and I am very satisfied with my purchase.
